Large cropping complicated vector files

Hi everyone, I'm looking for help please.

I'm new to illustrator who moved just from PC to Mac and CoreDraw to illustrator. I have a design work for the moment, but I am struggling to perform the tasks that I could about Corel. Basically, I want to crop an image, so that I can work on a section of it and delete everything else. I did some reading and understanding the culture issue is a common source of frustration for many but I am sure (hope) that there is a work around. I see clipping masks can be used, but they do not actually delete the Junk section. My problem is that the project that I'm getting is extremely large and complicated. It is a model which is about 8 metres by 6 metres, made up of vectors, and due to the size I reduced it to 1/100 to make it feasible. I'm going to do the piece as a whole as I apply a distortion effect to the entire organization, which is the reason for which I've upgraded to a powerful mac to make it faster.

I have applied the Warp effect to the model but now want to be able to break the image up into panels for printing. Once I divided it into sections I can then expand back to 1:1 scale. I can't use photoshop because of the extreme size and I also want to keep the image as a vector because it is what the printer.

One of the forums I've read has suggested creating a clipping mask and flatten transparency. This get the desired cropping effect, but the file with that I find myself behaves strangely. It wobbles when I move my mouse and vectors (a model of many irregular circles) appear to have changed.

Be able to perform a crop is very important for the work I do and which is always on a large scale. Not only for the work I do now but in the future to be able to select a section of the image to send to the printer to make samples to show customers. I'm really looking forward to get to grips with Illustrator would be so grateful if someone could shine a light on a solution. Thanks in advance for your comments - Matt

Looking at your art file I do not understand why it is bog down your machine...

When I need create files that will be printed, for a business see the banner, or building signage, I build it on a smaller scale to avoid the problems you described. The printer must be able to resize to the proper output scale. The great thing about vector art is that it fits any size and keep all the lines clean and design elements. There is no need to build the actual size, that it will be printed. In the same way, you can print a section of art for you or your client at any level you want. Simply select the level you want in the print dialog box.

To fix your file, try these 2 methods:

Method 1:

Create your art on a smaller scale and apply your effect of deformation.

Select it and go: OBJECT / LARGER APPEARANCE. This should Flatten all applied effects and turn it into a single vector object.

Save this art flattened under a separate file. Create a master document, and then go FILE / PLACE. Make sure it is LINKED and not INTEGRATED. Put it in as many times as you want, isolate each part of the image with a clipping mask, depending on the needs. Scale and print to whatever size you need.

Method 2: Try to go from VECTOR to RASTER and VECTOR back. I had a similar problem, and it worked for me...

Create your art on a smaller scale and apply your effect of deformation. Select it and copy it to the Clipboard.

Note the dimensions of the vector art and create a PSD document that has the same size. It must be high ground, so if your vector art is 20 x 20 cm, the DPI of your PSD document should be at least 300. I would like to try 600 or even 1200.

Paste your art in the PSD doc and save. (PSD, PNG or JPEG)

Make a new Illustrator of the file, and then go to FILE / PLACE and place your PSD file in Illustrator. Keep it selected.

Then go: WINDOW / Image Trace. You will probably get a warning about the size of the file but ignore it.
Make sure that the Mode is black and white. Click on the Preview button and play with the settings until it looks good. That could never happen but at least you can say you tried. Once it looks good, go: OBJECT / EXPAND... and make sure that the objects and filling are selected. Press OK and cultures and adapt the new art to the needs. Send to the printer and have a beer.

  • Problem loading of a large number of csv files

    Hi all

I have a problem loading of a large number of csv files in my LabVIEW program. I have attached a png image of the code simplified for only loading sequence.

What I want to do is load the data of 5000 laser beam profiles, so 5000 files csv (68 x 68 elements), and then proceed to an analysis of data. However, the program will only ever 2117 files, and I get no error message. I also, tried at the beginning of loading a single file, selecting an area of cultures - say 30 x 30 items - and then to load the rest of the files cropped to these dimensions, but I always get only 2117 files.

    Any thoughts would be appreciated,

  • Why not save a vector file in creative cloud?

As a professional Illustrator, I've been a fan of Adobe ideas: work completed, just sent me a vector file and... Ok. Or instead, it was recorded at my creative cloud like a .ideas backed up by file. Perfect.

Draw came with large additions to the ideas, no doubt. But it lacks the most elementary thing: export the work as a usable file (I don't talk of a dirty .jpeg, .png not own or even export to another application like Illustrator CC - I'm talking about a .svg vector file).

Why not make a vector file to access creative cloud backup? In general, I don't need Illustrator to make improvements or corrections to my work. My illustrations came ready ideas or draw (I used to access the .svg files in the sandbox of the app, but with ios 9 that not more possible and ideas is no longer works with these ios also version).

I think that (a vector file to my CC upward), would be a solution, because it would not interfere in politics of Adobe to not use versions inherited (according to the CS6), as well as its applications and at the same time would make things much easier for us, existing users.

Someone here in another thread said that there are many other applications of vector in the itunes store, we are wasting our time trying to get these files to the CS6, but... If we continue using the draw it's because it's good... I would not be insistent in this idea for as long as I was if it wasn't a good app! But something is missing. Something I think it's pretty simple to do.

    Lopesco | StrictlyDigital,

Thank you for your comments persuasive. This is a feature that has generated a momentum of opinion and pleas and requests (including Maruyama KBFeature Request: Save in CreativeCloud in vector format (svg / AI / draw)).

I don't know when / if the functionality that has been so popular in the Adobe ideas will be added to the draw, but I'll certainly make sure that the product teams see your comments.

    Thanks again for posting.

    Sue.

  • Vector file Web

I'm going to hurt to keep the quality of my vector file when I save it for the web. I need an image which is 100px, 100px x and when hovered on the webpage zooms. Can you help me with how can I save the vector image (eps) so it will maintain quality at a small pixel size? See example on link... www.theram.com/jQuery/jquery_hover_zoom/jquery_hover_zoom/indexPractic.html

    Thank you!

Save the large size, and that adapts to the non-pointe State.

If you want a picture of 200x200px. Then use jquery for that back to 100x100px for non-pointe State.

Working with Windows 7. I'm trying to move files to other readers. . What is the work around whan "" the file is too large for the destination file system"is the error messages. Can it be fixed so you can move the files

Either there is not enough space on the destination or the size of the file is larger than the destination system can accept, for example FAT32 cannot have a file size more than 4 GB.

    Hi Helmi,

It does not seem that you download the files correctly. I tested the two images and was able to download successfully. Please see this topic for more information: I downloaded my 10 free images and they all have the Adobe watermark on them, so I can't use them. Why do they have a watermark on them?

  • Illustrator converts the standard file in vector file?

I have a card that I need converted to a vector file in order to expand our advertising on a vehicle either as a graphic envelope or a vehicle.  Is it possible to scan a piece of art and open it with illustrator to save in a vector file real?

You can certainly do inside Adobe Illustrator.

I did something similar several times.

If you use CC, discover LiveTrace here: using Illustrator | Trace the Image using

If you are using an older version of Illustrator, it's roughly in the same place, but you'll want to look for something called "Vectoring" instead. Illustrator help | With the help of vectorization. CS5 and previous

The most important thing about this is resolution and contrast of your image.  (The same is true if you want to use the mobile application called Adobe form).

If it is as small as a business card, I wouldn't trust him to an iPhone, Android or iPad lens, unless you have a very good third-party lens on the camera.

    1. create a scan high resolution of your business card.

    2. place the raster image into Adobe Illustrator CC

3 use the Trace of the Image (and expand) to convert the contrast and color in vector

    4. change / clean / scale.

Good luck - and post your envelope when it's done!

I'd love to see it (I used to work at an advertising agency that has made bus tours too)

  • Embedded vector files are not smoothed. How can I fix it?

When I try to incorporate vector files into Photoshop, sometimes they appear without anti-aliasing. I tried the pixelation them once they are integrated, but this does not resolve the issue.

    Here's a video I captured of the issue in dispute in the action: 2014 10 10 12 39 54 - YouTube

And here is a picture of the several incorporated. EPS files.

Pixelation just keep the pieces you have.

Select the smart object layer, select free transform, select the smoothing check box in the options of free transform, then validate the transformation (without moving anything).

  • Why my simple vector file is so big

Hello, I have a lot of simple vector files created in CS6 which are more than 15 MB. I had deleted all the nuances, brushes and symbols. I have jusc can not know why these files are so big

    Here is an example:

    big_warnings.jpg

and the weight of file .ai 17.1 MB

    link to the file: http://www.sendspace.com/file/xl6n24

    Hello

I just open your file and brushes there were plenty of brushes (many duplicates and I mean a lot of duplicates), I deleted half of them and now the size is 2.1 mb. After you delete them all now 930kb. I tried to remove them all at once and it crashed, then little by little is best.

It will take time, but you need to do a just Delete Save as them seems not to register as a change.

    hope this helps

  • With the help of vector files in AEFX

I need to inform a graphic designer on a project that is formed in AEFX.

Camera titles via a bar code to reveal a scene.  Simple.  Basically, follow in, then through a white bar and dissolve through the scene

I was wondering if the barcode was created in the form of layers in a vector format... If that would be better than a massive psd file.

AEFX works even with vector files?

Assumeably need rasterising at some point.

Grateful for all the thoughts and ideas in this regard.

Create the file in Illustrator and then select continuously rasterize.

Well Yes! Try the view-> display-> high quality Performace. InDesign / previews low resolution when you are in Standard view. (And ID tend to run a lot faster when it is not rendered print hi-res images, then you are probably better off working in Standard mode, unless you have a monster of a desktop machine, or unless your job requires that you see the image high resolution while you do other tasks in ID.)

  • Evil created vector files.

I had several problems with badly built and same .ai/.eps files images converted to vector format using Live Paint/Image drawn. Many which make it really difficult or is no longer useful, that I can not determine until after I downloaded the file under license. A rating and review scope would be very useful. And if the contributor receives enough bad reviews that all submissions must be pulled until it has corrected the problem. If not a rating and review field then some screenshots of the work should be held as a wireframe view and the image of the sample must have a roller on enlarge to a very detailed close-up. Not only is it frustrating manage files like these and some even become useless, but badly built vector almost always has a significantly higher number of anchors as necessary which creates unnecessarily large files that will work with slow and frustrating.

Here is an example of an image, I have a license yesterday and was badly built using the path of the Image.
