Last update does an old file foxfire folder. Can I save it?

On my desk, there is a folder that says Foxfire old files. What I need to keep or can I delete it?

The old Firefox data folder is created when you use Refresh. During an update, you sometimes see a message that Firefox is starting or running slowly, and you can speed it up by restoring some default settings. If you click this button, refresh will create this folder.

More information on what you keep and what you lose a refresh: Refresh Firefox – reset settings and Add-ons.

If nothing essential is missing then you can remove this folder, but I suggest giving it a few days just in case you need something and you have not noticed yet.

computer restored IBM won't let me go beyond the introduction of identy... closes and restarts the computer to the same: Enter name and ID... then again, it does the same thing.  How can I save this monster?

    Hello

First, disconnect all the external devices connected to the computer, and then try to start and check what is happening. If the same happens, then you can try to start in safe mode and check if you are able to boot to the desktop. Only basic files and drivers needed to run Windows are started. If a problem doesn't reappear when you start in safe mode, you can eliminate the default settings and basic as possible cause device drivers. To start in safe mode follow the link.

Start your computer in safe mode

    Hope this information is useful.

  • Explorer Windows in Windows 7 change suddenly last updated Date of the files attribute

I'm moving from XP Pro to Win 7 of last month during this process, I came across a disturbing behavior in Windows Explorer in Windows 7.

In Windows 7 (and I hear Vista as well) Windows Explorer will sometimes change the file Date changed when slide it / file to a new location.  I spent hours researching this issue.  In some discussions, some participants said it is a reasonable thing, since copying a folder with files creates a new folder and new files, so a new modified Date is guaranteed.  I can understand that as a basis to change the creation Date.  This was the behavior under XP and I think that NT as well.  However, changing the Date of change is a fundamental departure from how the system of files are featured in the past, and it is also a serious departure from good sense.  At the very least, it will make it impossible to find or organize files by date of update, since the original modification Date (date the actual content of the file may have been modified) is lost.  It also seriously decreases the possibility of finding files duplicated by this attribute when simply copy a file it modifies.

Change the folder view options can prevent this behavior (Options: view folders: check always show icons, never thumbnails).  In addition, edit a file to read-only will also stop this change of Date of modification.  However, none of these options provide a viable solution to this problem.  All first, change the option to display file then prevents look a thumbnails of the image files.  Change once the copy of file causes the copied files to change Date change date created.  The same is true for the readonly attribute (removing it causes the modification Date change), not mention that it is often impractical to effectively apply this strategy.

I also note that this behavior is not consistent in all areas.  Files copied from a shared disc on a PC network do not seem to this behavior.  But, files and folders transferred by using Dropbox (www.dropbox.com) show the unwanted behavior.  Worse still, the behaviour was not consistent within the folder.  I transferred a file with the 2007 via Dropbox eml files.  In most tests, once the folder has been moved and dropped on the Win 7 machine (whether copied or moved) the Date of editing files has been changed to take account of the date and time that they were dropped.  However, in one case, two of the files has not changed the Date of change.  By clicking on the file or even open it to read has not made a difference.  The modification Date remained unchanged.  I don't really know why this was the case in this instance, given that these same files has been modified Date change in previous experiences.

Frankly, I'm puzzled and dismayed that this did not become a more important issue.  Do not have a lot of imagination to see how this problem might affect users old files of e-mail to archiving as LME and anyone copy older files, who later need to search or sort them by the Date of change.  There are solutions that I know, as the compression of the files before any copy or use Robocopy with the appropriate options, but they are much less practical as drag - drop.  Furthermore, drag and drop is now so embedded in users what their likely natural choice for file copy or move.  Once the modification Date is lost, it cannot be found without a restore of backup files - once again, an unrealistic option and a lot of time.

I think it is a serious problem that needs to be processed quickly by Microsoft.  Good design keeps logical and mitigates the factors that can lead to human error.  The above behavior fails both these needs.  Anyone found a solution for this (maybe change registry) or to know if and when Microsoft plans to approach this?

I've just dealt with the same problem when copying all the contents of my hard drive and found an impressive (and without :-)) Microsoft Utility called RichCopy which solves this problem and makes it much easier to copy a large number of files/folders :-))

  • Mozilla, your last update does not include the last cert of intermediaries of extended validation from Verisign, Symantec class 3 EV SSL CA - G2, please fix ASAP

Your last update of firefox, Mozilla does not include the last cert of intermediaries of extended validation from Verisign, Symantec class 3 EV SSL CA - G2, please fix ASAP

Firefox never includes the intermediate certificates.
It is the responsibility of a server to include all the intermediate certificate required to make it possible to build a certificate chain that ends with a trusted root certificate embedded.

Note that Firefox automatically records the intermediate certificates that servers send in certificates for future use Manager (they appear labelled as 'Software security device' in the References tab).
If a server does not send a complete certificate chain then you get an untrusted error when Firefox has stored missing intermediate certificates to visit a server in the past that a send it, but you get an untrusted error if this intermediate certificate is not yet registered.

  • After the last update (today), Firefox crashes constantly. How can I uninstall this last update? I tried to create new profiles and they also crash.

Firefox worked earlier today (August 19, 2013 6:30 pm EDT). When I opened Firefix after it IS 9, Firefox has attempted to perform an update. No error was given, but now Firefox does not start. Run a Windows 8 machine with all the updates and current security with no malware known on my system software.

When I try to start Firefox, the system shows the circle of"work", but then nothing. I created a new profile and got Firefox to start, but whenever I try to go to a website, Firefox crashes.

The last 2 reports of incidents of today:
    InstallTime20130814063812 (content: 1376962029)
    LastCrash (content: 1376969373)

Firefox IS working with Windows 8 in Mode safe (I got a message saying Firefox had not been closed properly) with a new profile. If I used an existing profile, Firefox would start and then close when I went to ANY website or any just not start. I shouldn't be no CRASH REPORT has been generated, just a code updated in the LASTCRASH file.

I have created a new profile, turned off all plugins, redonfigured my security suite of network to start automatically and restarted normally. When Windows came, I launched Firefox with the new profile, went to a few sites only to confirm it worked and then activated the security suite. No problems. I then reactivated some of my plug-ins. I had problems again when all the following plugins have been re-activated:

        -- Java Development Toolkit 7.0.250.16 10.25.2.16
        -- RealDownloader Plugin 16.0.2.32
        -- RealNetworks RealDownloader 1.3.2.28
        -- Shockwave for Director

With these off and the new profile, FIrefox is now working normally. Thank you!

  • Drag and drop from Illustrator to Photoshop not working only not with the last update... Any ideas that can do about it?

For example, I have a file of newspaper advertising open (as in Illustrator) .ai and I want to use the logo from here and place it in a .psd file (banner that I do in Photoshop). Before that I selected just Illustrator logo/layer and drag droped to Photoshop. This logo would be recognized as a smart object in Photoshop. Now, this is not possible. I'm working on Windows 10 x 64 and this problem occurred with the last update of Photoshop.

    Hi kristijan_st,

Please see the article below relates to the last update for Photoshop.

This article is not directly editable in Photoshop...

Let us know if that helps.

  • Why did you last update removed my toolbar (file, publishing, display, etc.)

After the last auto-update, the line of the toolbar displayed is more then the options to 'File', 'Edit', 'View', 'Tools',... 'Help', were not available. This made it more difficult to close or exit Firefox.

Press ALT or F10 from your keyboard to make the Menu bar temporarily visible. If you want it to be visible at all times, go in view > toolbars > Menu bar, or right click on the Navigation bar (for example, the Reload button), and then select menu bar.

If this does not help, right-click the navigation toolbar, select Customize... and click on restore by default. If it does not immediately appear, try pressing ALT or F10. You can enter in view > toolbars > Menu bar to make it visible at all times, or with the right button of the Navigation toolbar and select menu bar.

If none of this helps, you may have a problem with some Add on Firefox which is an obstacle to the normal behavior of your Firefox. Try to disable all add-ons (just to see) to see if Firefox goes back to normal.

Hi, first of all upgrade Firefox to version 40.0.2 (3-bar menu > help - question mark at the bottom right > on Firefox.)

Now, because it is perhaps a matter of the extension, try Mode without failure of Firefox to see if the problem goes away. Firefox Safe mode is a troubleshooting mode that temporarily disables hardware acceleration, restores some settings and disables add-ons (extensions and themes).

If Firefox is open, you can restart Firefox Safe mode in the Help menu:

    • Click the menu button

      click Help

then select restart with disabled modules.

If Firefox does not work, you can start Firefox in Mode safe as follows:

    • On Windows: Hold down the SHIFT key when you open the desktop Firefox or shortcut in the start menu.
    • On Mac: Hold the option key during the startup of Firefox.
    • On Linux: Exit Firefox, go to your Terminal and run firefox-safe-mode
(you may need to specify the installation path of Firefox for example/usr/lib/firefox)

When the Firefox Safe Mode window appears, select "start mode safe."

If the problem is not present in Firefox Safe Mode, your problem is probably caused by an extension, theme or hardware acceleration. Please follow the steps described in the section Troubleshooting extensions, themes and problems of hardware acceleration to resolve common Firefox problems to find the cause.

To exit safe mode of Firefox, simply close Firefox and wait a few seconds before you open Firefox for normal use again.

When find you what is causing your problems, please let us know. This might help others with the same problem.

  • The last update for Firefox off my Yahoo toolbar - can we get the toolbar?

The latest update to Firefox 43.0 deactivated my Yahoo toolbar. I had several buttons Web site registered over there, and I liked the convenience of it. Where it does go and can I get it back?

    Follow-up:
The Add-on from Yahoo toolbar has been updated on December 29, 2015. The latest version of the Yahoo toolbar solves a problem in 43 Firefox that caused the toolbar become invalid.

  • Since the last update of firefox (version 38.0) I can't play videos. Could not find the cause.

It seems to be random. Sometimes I can play a video on some website, but youtube no longer works, as well as videos from facebook. They work fine in Internet Explorer. However, I like Foxfire. I don't want to go back to IE.

YouTube is generally serving Firefox users an HTML5 player now instead of the classic flashplayer. There may be a problem in your Firefox or your Windows Media Player MP4 without Flash.

First of all, you can check which player does not work by double-clicking on the player and inspect the bottom of the context menu line short. Who will usually mention the specific plugin if a plugin is used, for example, Flash or QuickTime. If not, most likely, it is an HTML5 player.

Firefox can read WEBM and OGG video natively without outside help, but uses Windows Media Foundation to play the MP4 video. There are some settings in Firefox to disable it; users who download MP3s sometimes easily changed these settings. Here's how you can check your:

    (1) in a new tab, type or paste Subject: config in the address bar and press ENTER. Click on the button promising to be careful.

    (2) in the search above the list box, type or paste the media and make a pause so that the list is filtered

    (3) {for Windows newer than XP} if the preference media.windows - media - foundation.enabled is in bold and user set to 'false', double-click to go to true

    (4) {for Windows XP} If media.directshow.enabled preference is in bold and user set to 'false', double-click to go to true

If you have changed these settings, does make a difference? I'm not sure if the change takes effect immediately or after leaving Firefox and start it again.

Users in Europe need the Feature Windows Media Pack, but if your Windows comes with Windows Media Player, then that probably does not apply to you. See:

If this is not resolved quickly, there is a quick and dirty solution for YouTube, which is to use an add-on to force YouTube to give you the Flash Player instead: https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/addon/youtube-flash-video-player/
