How can I print my Microsoft Surface running Windows 8 RT?

Most new wireless printers have an impression of the Microsoft Surface with Windows 8 RT problem.  Everything you need to make these printers is tell them to print and they will.  Older wireless, Ethernet and USB printers should not have driver officially supported in Windows 8 RT, but there is a way to get the printer working.  There are different requirements depending on how the printer is connected to the Surface.

Note: All the steps below are only for other HP ink Jet, DeskJet, PhotoSmart and OfficeJet printers.  These steps are not for Laserjet printers or printers from other manufacturers.  These steps may not work for all inkjet printers.  If these steps do not work, try different drivers in the list until you find the one that works (you'll understand what I mean once you follow the steps below).  If none of the drivers work, your printer does not work with the Surface.

For (Ethernet or wireless) network printers, all you need is Surface keyboard or a USB keyboard to connect to the Surface.  It is simply what you have to type more easy to type.  You will also need to have the Surface and the printer connected to the same network.

    1. From the right edge, drag your finger to the left on the screen Surface to appear charms bar.
    2. Press search.
    3. Under the search box, tap Settings.
    4. In the search box, type devices and printers.
    5. Press devices and printers.
    6. Contact add a printer.
    7. Tap "my printer is not listed.
    8. Select the TCP/IP option and then press Next.
    9. Enter the IP address of the printer and press Next.  Note: You can get this from the network printer, or list DHCP in your router Configuration Page.
    10. The Surface will locate the printer and try to install it.  Installation fails, and the Surface will be asked what you want to do, look on the internet for the driver, or manually install the driver.  Choose to install the driver yourself.
    11. Press 'I want to choose from a list of drivers.
    12. If no driver is in the list, make sure that the box next to 'Show compatible drivers' is not checked.
    13. Choose HP in the production list.
    14. Choose driver DeskJet PCL 3 class in the list of drivers.  If this driver does not work, try using the Photosmart PCL3 driver, or the driver Officejet PCL 3.  (Thanks JonW for letting me know about these other alternates.) )
    15. Press Next.
    16. Tap Finish.
    17. Test print.

For USB connected printers, need you a USB cable to connect the printer to the computer.

    1. Connect the printer to the computer via USB.
    2. Windows will try to find the drivers but will not be able to.
    3. Here Windows may ask you if you want to choose the driver to install.  If she go to step 14 below.

    7. In the search box, type Device Manager.
    8. Press Device Manager.
    9. Tap view and select Show Hidden.
    10. Search for the printer in Device Manager.  It should be in the other devices section with a yellow warning next to her sign.
    11. Select the printer in the list.
    12. Press Action.
    13. Update driver to touch or to install any what it displays.

  • Integration of the Bulletin Board and microsoft surface?

Toshiba think integration Bulletin Board with microsoft surface?
    It would be very cool!

Unfortunately, I can not comment on your question but would like to say that I love your posts and your comments.
There is not a lot of people who have made suggestions how to improve things on this forum.

I think Toshiba lend more attention to the own customers.
Let's see what will happen with the Bulletin Board. In any case, I can imagine that Toshiba will continue to develop it with new features.

  • Is faster than the HP Mini 110 Microsoft Surface?

My HP Mini 110 series netbook is SLOW and it is 2 years old and the Microsoft Surface seems newer, but I want to know if the Microsoft Surface would go faster (for example, loading programs and files, etc.)

The HP Mini 110 has an Intel Atom processor and the Microsoft Surface has an ARM processor.

The Microsoft Surface would be faster than the HP Mini 110?

It must be such that it is a newer CPU, but until the Surface is in the hands of consumers, we do not have really the real world benchmarks. I am 100% sure that whatever that is released by Microsoft or others would show much faster and better in all aspects. But these are marketing people making conversation, not technicians running the real numbers.

  • I'm not able to change a Microsoft Surface Collage once registered.

I use a VAIO VPCJ1 multi touch screen and the Microsoft Surface Collage software that is preinstalled on the pc, but there is no instructions.  The problem I have is that after than moving the gallery images (which can be found at the bottom of the screen) in the collage to exit the screen I would save (part of right click below icon) file then save as a j..

If I want then to change or to add to the collage, that the software does not allow to do as it is save as a j., the Question is how can you save a collage that allows changes?

You can not. You must start a new collage.

  • The tablet of Microsoft Surface will not work with my printer HP Photosmart 5510 current wireless?

I need to get a new laptop as my only current becomes slow and unresponsive, so I thought I'd do a Microsoft Surface tablet when they become available. I only bought my printer a couple of months, and it would really be a guy, if it was not compatible with the Surface.

Also, I downloaded the Windows 8 Preview of consumers, and in trying to connect my printer, it wouldn't install because it did not support the operating system, telling me to make sure I was using XP or Win 7. After a few weeks, I returned to windows 7. Does this mean that my printer will not work with any version of Windows 8, either on a tablet or PC?
    I thank in advance.

HP alone are responsible for the support of pilot and he will be at their discretion. If it is a very recent model, HP will probably out drivers more or less at the same time as Windows 8 in fact for the shelves of stores...

  • How to upgrade version of adobe flash player on the tablet of Microsoft Surface?

How to upgrade version of adobe flash player on the tablet of Microsoft Surface?

Go to search the web, it appears on the surface Rt comes with adobe flash 11.3 it is the last version that is compatible with the RT 11.5 was released, but he is not yet a compatible system for the surface.  I would say that windows update will tell us when a new version comes out.  If you want to force the installation when the update is made available, I suggest searching for "install optional updates ' which will allow you to install then right rather than opening the item updates control because it only allows you to check (all by the charm of the search)!

  • Problem is Roadrunner E-mail to work on my tablet of Microsoft Surface.

Problem is Roadrunner E-mail to work on my tablet of Microsoft Surface.  The incoming parameters are pop - server.roadrunner.com with server = port 110 and outgoing parameters are mobile - smtp.roadrunner.com with port = 587 server.  SSL is disabled.  I get an error message saying that the tablet can not find settings and check with the provider.  Roadrunner has confirmed the above settings, but they do not work.  Also tried it with the port of the server outgoing = 25 and the address of the smtp - server.roadrunner.com and various combinations of the above.  Still does not work...

I had the same problem and that's what I did.  I found it MUCH easier to do on my laptop, so use a laptop, because all the buttons appear.

First, I went on a laptop outlook.com and created an outlook.com e-mail account (with the email address * address email is removed from the privacy *).
Once you are connect to outlook.com, you can click on the settings button (the circle of wheel of funny car in the upper corner) and select "e-mail settings more.
Select "send/receive emails from other accounts.
    Add an account.
You can type in your roadrunner email account.  Check with roadrunner on your server settings.  Mine was
    pop - server.nc.rr.com
    PORT 110 SSL DISABLED
I selected checking account and then created a folder for my emails.  BTW, select your return address by default for your roadrunner account.
I added the new outlook.com account to my surface and my roadrunner account appeared!   I could send and receive my roadrunner emails.
  • Complete and sign Lag with Microsoft Surface book pen. How can I fix it? Adobe Acrobat DC (15.010.20060)

I am currently paying for monthly service. I really like using Adobe Acrobat DC. The embankments and the characteristic sign is the main reason I pay for the service (and the function send / track).

When using the pen of book Surface to draw a signature it is so late my clients have to pull very slowly. And yet, they laugh at the quality of their signatures. This shift made it either when you use the pen or with your finger. Please help solve this problem.

This has been common for some time now, and the AutoInk plugin (https://www.evermap.com/autoink.asp) uses the approach of one of the reasons for this. It would be great if Acrobat uses the same inking support that is built into the operating system for that. It would make a good feature request: Acrobat Feature Requests

  • Adobe Bridge and Camera Raw too small on Microsoft Surface PRo 4

I have the Microsoft Surface Pro 4. I downloaded Photoshop for use with fotography.

Photoshop works perfectly, but Adobe Bridge and Camera Raw are too small. I can't read the letters...

    Anyone know a solution?

    Schermopname (4).png

    Hi all

We published a new version of Adobe Bridge (CC 2015) on July 19, 2016. This update is available via the Adobe Creative Cloud application.

We have approached some unwanted highDPI on Windows. Please try the new version and look for problems you encounter.

If you are not able to locate the bridge (CC 2015) on the creative cloud application, you will need to update the creative cloud application and restart your computer.

  • Glad Adobe Viewer on Microsoft Surface

    Hello

My company is changing from iPads to the Microsoft surface and we adapt the marketing tools for the new devices.

We use Adobe Content Viewer to display the new brochures and price lists and we never had problems with the iPad, the URLS are linked to RP files in the cloud of our society.

Now with the surface when we push the button to open the PDF inside Adobe Content Viewer, Windows opens Internet Explorer and ask to download the pdf file.

Is it a chance again, I can open a PDF inside the app or was just a feature of the iPad? Any advice?

    Thank you very much

    John

    Hi John,.

This feature is specific to the iPads because of how iOS handles links to PDF files. Neither Android nor Windows have the same OS level support so that you get the behavior you describe.

  • Photoshop CS6 brush pressure sensitivity doesn't work is not on the Microsoft Surface Pro.

I just bought a Microsoft Surface Pro for Photoshop running on this subject.  I installed Photoshop and tried to make some sketches.  I created a new file and began sketching.  Immediately, I felt as if something was wrong.  I checked my brush settings and saw that the pressure sensitivity was not available.  Everytine I tried to put it on it was marked by an exclamation point.

Does anyone know if Adobe supports new microsoft pressure sensitive pen, or if there is some sort of definition that I'm missing?  I tried sketchbook pro 2011, and that works surprisingly well with the pen.  I hope someone can help me along here, because if this tablet really can run photoshop, it would be a game changer.

Microsoft is aware of this problem with their driver software.

Many other applications (not just Adobe) are also affected.
