Latest optional updates cause problem with UEFI system

I had to restore my system from a backup because after you apply these updates optional, my system stopped and said that there was a change not allowed in BIOS or UEFI drivers.

KB2952664

KB3035583 Get Windows 10

KB3133977

KB3137061

KB3138901

KB3139923

Anyone had the same experience and can identify which of these is the cause of the problem.

For the moment I do not apply these updates.

Hello

We wish to inform you that after you install the update 3133977 on a Windows 7 x 64 system which includes a main focus on the ASUS card, the system does not start, and it generates a Secure Boot error on the ASUS BIOS screen. This problem occurs because ASUS has helped the motherboard turn on the secure boot process, even if Windows 7 does not support this feature.

To resolve this issue, go to the following ASUS support site to find out how to disable Secure Boot for Windows 7:

Note the Secure Boot feature is supported in Windows 10. To learn more about the benefits of security of this feature, as well as on the way to upgrade Windows 7 to 10 of Windows, go to the following Windows site:

  • Updates cause problems with power settings

Since the last update flash drive, my power setting is denied.

It's on white screen after 10 min. of no activity. After viewing something with flash player, when my screen is supposed to be empty, it white for a split second just now and to do this, every 10 minutes (the time period I put). I then go into the display properties > screen saver > power settings and reset her turn off monitor option. Can you please give me a solution for this?

I asked this question in January and got a response to uninstall and reinstall the Flash Player (if anyone from Adobe is preparing it - file for my application number has been 181390787)
That fixed the problem for a while (until the next update), but now it is happening again.  I can't find a way to return to the customer support portal and submit the problem again.  I can enter the portal and read my case closed, but I can't open a new one.
This gets really annoying, I discovered a lot of video tutorials that use Flash Player and watch You-tube frequently.  Whenever I discover something with Flash Player, I have to reset my preferences of power.  I really hope someone has a solution for this, what happens now to the computer of my husband as well.  The two systems are:

Browser: Microsoft IE 8, operating system: Windows XP Professional SP3

    Thank you

Maybe I finally found a solution, after weeks of tests!

Also, if you do not have a selected screen saver, you must set its longer time than the monitor turned off.

To do this, in control panel-> display-> screensaver-> choose a random screen saver-> don't set a loooong time (example 60 min, but more and more that your monitor off time)-> select any screen saver-> and save.

I really do not know why, just do claim that there is a conflict between flash, screen saver settings and power, but this solution worked for me!

Let me know if fix you the problem if you read this.

  • Updated driver problem with Windows 7.

Why Windows 7 Driver updates managed by third parties and not directly by Microsoft, the developers of Windows 7, I received requests from third party who claim to be partners of Microsoft to download Windows 7 drivers up-to-date. Such a request is contained in the URL below:

    http://www.Driverupdate.NET/articles/download_theme/Windows-7-driver-downloads-cmp2.php?APS=article_content_win_7_drivers&P2=%5ESW2%5Exdm015&gclid=CO64l5rW7b4CFWNqOgodKlEAdQ#common_problems

We have no connection with that third party and what guarantees do we have that this download will not cause problems with our Windows 7 system or load it with large amounts of Malware that will require huge efforts on our part to clean up?   Microsoft has abandoned its responsibility to its customers who have purchased this operating system of Microsoft?

As a cautious Windows 7 subscriber, I am reluctant to run the risk of damaging my installation of Windows 7. Why Microsoft cannot provide updates or issue a statement that ensure their safety to its community of users, many members who are not clever in technology?

    Hello

I think you misunderstand that wrote the drivers for the hardware.

The hardware manufacturer write the driver software for their products, not Microsoft

Microsoft wrote only the drivers for their own hardware.

You only get the latest drivers for them to real hardware manufacturer's website, as Microsoft does normally or those have the most recent drivers available as Microsoft is based from the 3rd hardware manufacturer left to provide.

And no, Microsoft does not recommend these Web sites.

    This is standard information on how to get updates of pilot;

"You should get your software driver from your computer or hardware manufacturer, not through Windows Update (with the exception of updates from Microsoft Hardware)."

Access the site on your computer or equipment manufacturing > Driver and Software Support Section > search your computer or hardware model number > then your operating system > locate the correct drivers > download and install. »

  • Satellite C40D-C - problems with the system

I recently bought an a toshiba satellite C40D-C Series notebook PC as my old satellite - essentially - is dying. After you connect to the internet, I tried to download AVG Antivirus on my computer that I don't have - and never - trust McAfee anti-virus that comes with the computer. Every time downloaded AVG then restart my computer, the computer goes directly into the automatic repair system and doesn't let me do anything but to reset or restore. This has happened even with completely removed McAfee. I've been on AVG directly today (January 15), and they have to do remote set-up for me - with the same results. Yes, I'm aware that McAfee is a selfish cry of a system and refuses to acknowledge any other antivirus, but that this issue happens even with completely removed McAfee shows clearly that it is something that Toshiba has worked in the system. I can't even disable the automatic repair tool. I have to be stuck with a McAfee antivirus which, moreover, does not yet or is Toshiba will make an effort to help solve a problem they caused?

Why this computer isn't allowing AVG Antivirus work? And why, after each attempt to download AVG, the computer goes to auto repair whenever I shut down or restart? Is this a problem with the system or something, Toshiba has done on purpose?

  • Recovery system causing problems with the size of the screen.

Due to some problems I had, I finally had to yield and perform a system recovery back to the manufacturer's specifications.  Once this is done, I downloaded all the updates to Vista, all the drivers, etc..  Everything is square and works fine now, with a big problem.  I bought a monitor 20 "a few months ago.  It worked fine before the recovery is done.  Since the resumption, the display is smaller, as if I still had the old monitor 15 '' on the system.  I did that the driver for the monitor is correct and up-to-date.  I found a way to enlarge the display of the size of the screen in an online search, but it does not clear up the problem.  For example... If I go to a site like the Pogo, the bottom of the site is almost normal size for the monitor, but the game pop up displays the size of the screen 15 ''.  I tried everything I know and can't get this last problem fixed.  Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.  I also checked the resolution and makes sure it's OK for this monitor.  Thanks for your help.

Do you have the driver from Microsoft or directly from the manufacturer?  If Microsoft, go to the manufacturer website and download THE latest drivers applicable on your screen and the version of Vista (Microsoft sometimes cause problems).  Does the monitor require any firmware - if so, download and install that too much of the manufacturer's web site.  You can also update the video card drivers and firmware just in case it is the underlying cause of the problem - again go to the web site of the manufacturer to get the files rather than using those available through Microsoft.

Go to start / Control Panel / customization / display settings / and make sure that your monitor is displayed in the drop-down list.  If this is not the case, click on the box and see if you can find your monitor and then select and make the box extend the desktop to this monitor is selected.  Go into the advanced settings, click list all Modes and try one at the top, if it is not already selected (assuming that it is appropriate for your monitor).  If this does not help, try others that are compatible with your monitor to see if you can find one that allows you to achieve your goals.  It may not work, but it's probably worth a try.

Other than that, I don't know what to think.  You already seem to have covered most if not all of the bases.  If the above does not work, maybe someone else review this thread will have other ideas to offer.

    I hope this helps.

  • Update to Windows 8.1 causing problems with S7-392

Since the upgrade to Windows 8.1, I have experienced frustrating problems with my S7-392.

At this point the two main issues are:

    1. when running on battery, it stops intermittently.  Happens if I am using or not.  I've fiddled with the power such as disabling sleep options, etc.

    2. when waking from sleep or stand-by (don't know what mode it is in), by opening the cover, I'll see the announcement of logo sceen Acer will start "from auto repair.   Then it goes to a screen where it is said he couldn't fix it, and I want to restart or go to Advanced Options.

I have updated all drivers and BIOS the newer versions which were released on 10/13.

At this point, I feel like I want to go back to the original settings.

    6. When you are prompted, click on restart.
    7. after the computer starts, check if the problem is resolved.

If the problem is solved, check what is the cause of the problem, referring to the link given below:
    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/929135

Reset the computer to start as usual

When you are finished troubleshooting, follow these steps to reset the computer to start as usual:
Click Start, type msconfig.exe in the start search box and press ENTER.
If you are prompted for an administrator password or for confirmation, type your password, or click on continue. On the general tab, click the Normal startup option, and then click OK.

When you are prompted to restart the computer, click on restart.

  • Window update causing problems of printer driver

Hi, I have a laptop running XP and router wireless computer (WAG54G) and a set of HP6380 in one. About 2 nights ago an update to Windows Installer by himself and rebooted the laptop (even though I have some turned off automatic updates what they seem to be screwing with anything these updates produce still grr)...

I went to try and print and to found the 6380 was absent from the list of available printers... The problem is not with the wireless network (as it is trendy and functional). I don't know what it does the update of windows... but when I tried to reinstall the drivers for this printer from the disc, he acknowledged that they were already installed... So I uninstalled them instead (and it is taken up only parts of the driver remained and he removed these pieces).

Then I tried to do a fresh driver... install that took a long time because it got stuck at the end... Finally, he came up with an error and so I tried to introduce him, HP - and received click on a desktop icon... (Icon HP - XP Installation). I tried it but it tells me to 1) Reinstall driver (done twice -) solve printing problems wireless (not a problem at this point given that I have no printer driver and I can use the network wireless for other things very well) well tried anyway... or 2

Anyone has any suggestions please > in the past when Windows updates have caused problems, I used the system restore to roll back, but this is only a temporary solution - as Windows insists on the updates I want!

    Thank you very much!

If you have the original HP software CD, look in the folder of the ccc/utils for a L3_unintsall (or similar).  Run for an uninstall very full.

    Reset.

Now, download the latest version of the software for your printer from the "Support & Driver" link at the top of this page.  DO NOT reinstall from the CD (a good rule is in general not the CDs software, but to go to the website of the manufacturer for the latest and best).

    Thank you.

    Hello

The "Fix" I thought was to do the following.

    1. launch Acrobat repair, restart System

    2. run repair Office 2007, Reboot System

    3. this problem may be caused by McAfee, because it deletes a file required by the Agency and Acrobat.

After execution of this process, the PDF file is opened upward normally now. Sorry I should have updated this sooner that we are now updated for Firefox 10.0.6esr edition.
