• Dealing with the maxing out RAM during renders

  Hi all

  I work on a laptop with only 4 GB of RAM, while you'd expect, made images full HD with a lot of effects is no easy task for me. When I visited, the RAM usage will gradually increase until it hits 99%, how much he flood me with dozens of errors and then crash. My very crude way around this was to all make the JPEG sequences, then when it gets to about 95% use of RAM (usually after about 100 images), stop rendering, stop AE, restart my laptop, and then resume rendering of the same point to another 100 images, repeat.   You may need to change the default setting to purge executives. Start by keeping the SHIFT key and clicking on Preferences > General.

  At the bottom of the list of options, you'll see Secret. Go ahead and change the default setting for the Purge of executives then make something like 20 and then try again. If that doesn't solve the problem check Disable layer Cache.

  I loaded Windows 7 Home Premium 32 bit on a Dell Latitude D630.  Is there a compatible with the D630 AND Windows 7 Home 32 bit Dell QuickSet driver?

  I tried to use the serial number, [ADMIN NOTE: Service tag deleted by the privacy policy], in order to obtain the correct driver from the quick set button, but the pilot was offered, R182249, would not load.  The Dell site also does not list Windows 7 in the drop down menu to the operating system.  R182249 is listed as pilot QuickSet for Vista 32 or 64 bit.

  R182249 is for Vista 64 bit only; It will not work on 32 bit OS.

  R180762 should load on Windows 7 32 bit, it worked fine for me on a D820.

  In the Device Manager this medication is OK but when start connection with some externel device have a problem:

  then Device manager lokate the missing driver!

• Update the Bios on Latitude D630?

  I just upgraded my Latitude D630 by installing Windows 7 Home Premium and increase the RAM to 4 GB. The installation went well and everything seems to work well. I notice that the version of the BIOS is currently A04, but the latest version of Dell's A19. I would win anything performance update the BIOS to version A19, or am I better leave well enough alone?

  It is best to leave it alone. BIOS updates must be made before the hardware upgrades, but extra memory is not new material. If it all works, you are fine. Some updates to the bios are problems that you don't have, or you don't need improvements. Given that your model is of 2008-9, there rarely need a bios update.

  Dell says this about this bios which is 2010 with an update in 2013.

  Dell recommends the customer to review details about the update to determine if it applies to your system. The update contains changes that impact only certain configurations, or provides new features that may does not apply to your environment.

  According to the manual, this laptop can be upgraded up to 8 GB of RAM.

  Then you should be able to use the 2 x 4 GB RAM modules

  I think that both modules are not compatible with each other and therefore cannot boot up the laptop.
