Use the startup clean and other methods below to try to determine the cause of and eliminate problems.

References to Vista also apply to Windows 7.

Follow these steps:

Try these to erase corruption and missing/damaged file system repair or replacement.

Start - type this in the search box-> find COMMAND at the top and RIGHT CLICK – RUN AS ADMIN

Think about it an absolute must - manually update your drivers.

Vista and Windows 7 updated drivers love then here's how update the most important.

This is my generic how updates of appropriate driver:

This utility, it is easy see which versions are loaded:

-Free - DriverView utility displays the list of all device drivers currently loaded on your system.
For each driver in the list, additional useful information is displayed: load address of the driver,
Description, version, product name, company that created the driver and more.
http://www.NirSoft.NET/utils/DriverView.html

For drivers, visit manufacturer of emergency system and of the manufacturer of the device that are the most common.
Control Panel - device - Graphics Manager - note the brand and complete model
your video card - double - tab of the driver - write version information. Now, click on update
Driver (this can do nothing as MS is far behind the certification of drivers) - then right-click.
Uninstall - REBOOT it will refresh the driver stack.

Repeat this for network - card (NIC), Wifi network, sound, mouse, and keyboard if 3rd party
with their own software and drivers and all other main drivers that you have.

Now in the system manufacturer (Dell, HP, Toshiba as examples) site (in a restaurant), peripheral
Site of the manufacturer (Realtek, Intel, Nvidia, ATI, for example) and get their latest versions. (Look for
BIOS, Chipset and software updates on the site of the manufacturer of the system here.)

Download - SAVE - go to where you put them - right click - RUN AD ADMIN - REBOOT after
each installation.

Always check in the Device Manager - drivers tab to be sure the version you actually install
presents itself. This is because some restore drivers before the most recent is installed (sound card drivers
in particular that) so to install a driver - reboot - check that it is installed and repeat as
necessary.

Repeat to the manufacturers - BTW in the DO NOT RUN THEIR SCANNER device - check
manually by model.

Look at the sites of the manufacturer for drivers - and the manufacturer of the device manually.
http://pcsupport.about.com/od/driverssupport/HT/driverdlmfgr.htm

Installation and update of drivers under Windows 7 (updated drivers manually using the methods above
It is preferable to ensure that the latest drivers from the manufacturer of system and device manufacturers are located)
http://www.SevenForums.com/tutorials/43216-installing-updating-drivers-7-a.html

If you update the drivers manually, then it's a good idea to disable the facilities of driver under Windows
Updates, that leaves about Windows updates but it will not install the drivers that will be generally
older and cause problems. If updates offers a new driver and then HIDE it (right click on it), then
get new manually if you wish.

Refer to these discussions because many more excellent advice however don't forget to check your antivirus
programs, the main drivers and BIOS update and also solve the problems with the cleanboot method
first.

  • Latitude D630 laptop: can it really deal with 8 GB of RAM?

    Hello

Help a recent immigrant from China, who came with his son. Before his departure from China, the father of the son gives him a Latitude D630 (a very pretty, with the graphics chip of NVS135M). The OS (XP) is in Chinese, so it's a real adventure trying to put/clean the system. In any case, I have a few questions on the D630.

    1. looks like the system is capable of running Vista 64 bit, but I think that's only if the system has 4 GB or more RAM installed. The current system has 2 GB installed (2 X1GB), and the owner wants to get a new OS for this system (which is my life a lot easier, because it will be at least in English). If she gets WIndows 7, should she get Windows 7 32-bit or 64-bit? She is willing to spring for more RAM, so if WIndows 7 64 bit is the best way to go, advises him to get 1 X 4 gigabits, let the second slot open more RAM later. The Reference Dell manual says 8 GB of RAM capable; is that mean that it will take 8 GB of RAM, or that he may be able to take 8GB at some point in the future if they move to the update of the BIOS?

    2. If someone has used 4 GB modules in this system, please let me know what modules have worked for you, and more importantly, who didn't.

    Kostas

I can tell you from personal experience that Win 7 64 bit on a D630 (with T7500 processor) can manage the 6 GB of RAM quite well. He came with 2x2gb modules SODIMM and I replaced the bottom one (that easy) immediately with a 4 GB SODIMM.

I recently opened the top to see what would be involved in exchanging the T7500 for a T9500 and reach the top of the page SODIMM is easy enough that I put a 4GB in there, too. I can't not bad, so when I return for CPU swap, I'm going to do.

If you haven't already done so, you need really to update the bios to A17. I think it's back to A13 or so that enabled more than 4 GB, so uf which does not add focus RAM will do nothing, and some users have reported the failed to start. A17 will fix it.

    Hello

I've seen a lot of posts on the subject, but no solution. So my laptop has been freezing at random the day I bought it. Today it happens much more often, this becomes ridiculously boring.

Is there a way to fix this?

    > Once again, there was a notification that emerged after one of those who freeze soemthing mean in the sense of "there was a problem with amd (graphics card)?"but it was resovled."" It's all updated however.

This notification comes from the graphics card driver. It might be possible that there is a problem with the graphics driver or with the graphics chip.
Try to install the latest driver for Toshiba page. In case this doesn't help, recommend you to contact the service agents to check the hardware parts

  • Dell Latitude d630 and Windows 7

Does anyone know why Dell does not support Win7 on a Dell Latitude d630?

This machine was built with Windows Vista 32 - bit o/s on 24 November 2008. The date of the original invoice was on May 22, 2009. Win7 was not released until October 2009. The guy I bought it from had installed Win7 and I don't have the disks of backup or restore with it. It works fine except it doesn't have enough RAM, (which is not a big deal). The problems occurred when I tried to update the drivers and found that there is no driver for this model with Win7. When I called Dell, they said that they do not support Win7 on this laptop.

So I was just curious to know if anyone knew why? I won't lose money, upgrading the RAM if Win7 is going to be a problem.

Although W7x86 lists 1 GB as the minimum, I found 2GB for the sweet spot minimum.

More RAM is always a good investment, and even if you decide not to run W7 on this PC (I hope that your friend bought the license outright to pass on to you), more RAM will be beneficial to XP, Ubuntu or another OS, you decide to run on it.  However, more RAM is unable to completely cure your slow, because this might be a result (partially or totally) infections by malware, software problems, corruption of the file system or a bad hard drive... a reinstall to your specifications may be in order.

You can also try searching the forums (or Internet) to get an idea of real world experiences.  I think that there should be no problem... I managed a few s D830 (similar systems - a step towards the top, but even age/line) at work who has installed and have run W7 flawless.

    Hi Tekkit,

Thanks for posting your question on the Forums of community of Microsoft. I appreciate you providing a descriptive overview on the issue.

    1. Do you get this problem when your system is connected via a wired connection?
    2. You did it any significant hardware or change software on the computer before this problem?
    3. You are hosting the game server or simply connect to someone else?

As you said, the question may arise due to the third-party firewall security software installed on your system or corrupt network drivers. To refine the question, I would like to connect once the system via a connection internet wired , i.e. via the connection cable directly inserted into the port on your system. In addition, please, try the following steps and check if the problem persists.

    Method 1:

According to the manufacturer's website, it provides all the compatible Windows 7 drivers for model Latitude D630 XFR. Reference:

    http://www.Dell.com/support/home/us/en/19/product-support/product/Latitude-D630-XFR/drivers

You can download the driver last wireless compatible with Windows Vista (64-bit) the link above and try installing the driver in compatibility as detailed below mode.

    1. Download and Save the Wi - Fi driver compatible with Windows Vista (64-bit).
    2. Right-click on the downloaded driver file.
    3. ClickProperties , and then select the compatibility tab.
    4. Check enable the option run this program in compatibility mode for: , then select Windows Vista from the drop down.
    5. Click OK and install the driver.

For more information, please visit: make older programs run in this version of Windows

If the problem persists, try Method 2.

    Method 2:

    Disable the anti-virus software

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows/disable-antivirus-software#1TC=Windows-7

Warning: Antivirus software can help protect your computer against viruses and other security threats. In most cases, you should not disable your antivirus software. If you need to disable temporarily to install other software, you must reactivate as soon as you are finished. If you are connected to the Internet or a network, while your antivirus software is disabled, your computer is vulnerable to attacks.

Hope this information is useful. If the problem still persists, please post back for further assistance, we will be happy to help you.

  • Windows 7 drivers for Latitude D630

I just installed Windows 7 with SP1 64 bit on my Latitude D630 (with integrated graphics card Intel, nVidia not).  The system is in place fine and all devices are recognized, although the refresh of the display seems a bit funny sometimes.

I usually install a chipset driver right after OS install, but see that Dell has no download of Windows 7 for this laptop.  Should I use the driver for chipset from the Intel site or stick with what Windows 7 is installed?

Same question applies to video, Ethernet, WiFi, pilots etc...
