Latitude e7240 good question w/base

When this laptop is on a docking station, the music and the audio cut out after 30 to 90 seconds. I tried with several new platforms of the same model and it always happens. Dell's Rep says it's the correct docking station for this model laptop.

The problem does not occur with my old laptop which is a Latitude e6220, also running Windows 7 64 sits on the same platform. Issues occurs regardless of which media player, I have test use. If I don't the dock with USB speakers and plug straight into a laptop computer while the laptop is on the dock, the problem does not occur.

I have the most updated audio driver by driver of Dell page, and no new dirvers available via Windows don't update.

Any advice/help is greatly appreciated and thanks in advance.

Our problem turned being a 3rd party speaker USB + has received the user has. Not anything we have done in Windows would fix it. I tried updating BiOS, off to save the energy of the USB drivers before and a bunch of other things.

Only the 3rd party driver that did not come through the Windows updates fixed it completely.

    I have two monitors Dell U2414H I bought just connect to a Dell E-port Plus advanced Duplicator with a Dell Latitude E7240 laptop. 

    The Dell U2414H monitors are connected to replicators of ports with the supplied RFP > CDM cable. 

    1 PDM Monitor DP video
    2 PDM Monitor DP video 

    Monitor entries are resolved on the CDM (Mini DisplayPort). 

    Monitors spread never no exit and immediately go into power saving Mode. 

    A test, I took off the laptop connected directly to each monitor using HDMI and display my desktop on the screen instantly. The screens work in this configuration. 

    What can be done to troubleshoot and resolve the problem?

    As a gut feel something was wrong with the cables, I went out to microcenter today and bought two new sets of cables (DP-> DP).  I have attached the monitors and the docking station.  It resolved the problem.  The two monitors are running smoothly.

    Yes, calculation order can certainly influence the results.

    I have an operating system running windows 8 pro on dell inspiron 3521. When I bought the camera, the problem was not visible up to 1 year, and then I installed "Tuneup utilities" for a scan and then uninstalled. Since then, I found annoying problem on my pc.

    Relatek HD audio was working fine but then it started showing good results, but the sound from the speaker is not and or if plugged headphones as well. PC not dettect not any problem on the sound while troubleshooting. The sign of the speaker on the status bar when clicked and increases the volume of it increases the volume, but the sound and color do not here as well.
    It does a strange thing when I trouble shoot using the sound properties and click 'TEST' test is fine, but I can't hear any sound good! and again when I click TEST on speaker, it says "this device is used by another application. Please close... "
    However, the sound works fine without any problems for a while when I trouble shoot with 'Find and fix with device' or I restart the pc. But after a while this problem automatically. with this desktop right click question also annoyed me for the compliment can be! :( Help

    TuneUp utilities and similar programs usually don't serve to ruin a Windows Installer do it do more damage than good. Stories like yours are not uncommon with these programs. Back up all your data on an external hard drive. If you did a restore USB with your system can boot from to restore factory settings. If you have not done one, try using backup and restore Dell to make one. TuneUp utilities may have ruined the Dell backup feature and the recovery and partition recovery so I advise to call Dell technical support and request a DVD of resettlement or recovery USB just in case. I prefer the DVD because it can be copied to a USB key and has no preloaded software, allowing a cleaner installation. You can then try to restore the factory settings and if something goes wrong with the restoration use Dell support to clean install.

    I just bought a laptop Satellite Pro A500 and I have major problems with audio... it keeps crackling as it is not quite on a radio station - it did this mainly in iTunes and on videos that I play.

    I took it back to the retailer, and they are not aware of any questions... I updated the audio driver and did a factory reinstall... - What is a defective machine and I need to take it back to get replaced or is there a problem inherent in this series?

    You did not provide many details and if the issue cannot be reproduced, then it will be very difficult to find a solution...
    I think you should check if the sound issue is displayed using the headphones or speakers only... also check if you can update the audio driver...

  • Good question Probook s 4530: partial Solution, need the rest

    Hi all

    Just took delivery of a Probook s 4530 about 5 days ago and it is quite the spectator and performer. Love everything about it, but the display quality may have better brightness and contrast. My only gripe, really.

    But it's not what it is! Here's the deal:

    Unpacking of the laptop for the first time and do initial set, before she even started in Windows for the first time, he had a pretty bad glitch audio / video.     But as said, this is only a partial solution. The internet has streaming video, music streaming, movies, TV, games, all these goodies audio / video, I like! But I can't enjoy if connected to the internet, because the computer coughs and if not connected the computer didn't cough... but I'm not connected! Ugh!

    So I wonder what's my next move? What are some compatible drivers / updated drivers for my card which can solve the problem of total and won't mess up my computer? I think that perhaps something different for audio and wireless? But which? Oh of course, Windows says they are the "latest drivers', but who cares what Windows?  I would like to take care of this in one fell swoop if possible without too much guessing and trial and error. Right now I have:

    Adapter wireless Atheros AR9285 802.11 b/g/n

    and

    Atheros AR3011 Bluetooth 3.0 + HS adapter

    and

    High definition audio

    I don't know the exact drivers because I'm away from the laptop atm.  But I think they can be changed or uninstalled / reinstalled. I want to just do it without problem. And I only BT could be important, as BT does not work without the card wireless enabled. So I mentioned. Which is another subject of concern. To disable the device (wireless) for watching videos or listening to music does mean no internet OR bluetooth, apparently.

  • Latitude E7240 starts do not

    I recently dropped my E7240 and since then it does not start...

    With the battery and the power connected, the led battery No 4 flashes orange and white several times, then turned to constant flashing orange... I know that this means that my battery is dead, but even without the battery connected, the laptop does not light.

    When I try to turn it on without the battery, the power led become white but will not do anything else (no CPU fan). When I press on it, even once, the CPU fan whirs for a few seconds and then it turns off.

    I tried swapping the RAM on, reconnect the SSD and even re-allocation of places the CPU, but nothing helped.

    Anyone know if this laptop should start without battery (like most others) or if it depends on a pile of work being present?

    The system starts without battery unless something other that the battery is bad.  Remove or disconnect the battery and hold the power for 30 seconds.  Remove and reinstall the memory modules and try turning on AC only - if this goes, it's the battery that is bad.  If it won't, the repair starts with a replacement motherboard.

    I have a laptop from Samsung which has window 8 on it (I haven't done the 8.1 update yet).

    Recently the noise stopped working for no apparent reason. The speakers do not work and a helmet or any other external device connected does not work either.

    From what I can tell, the sound card/driver is Realtek High Definition Audio. Windows tells me that the latest driver is installed.

    How can I solve this problem? What do I have to uninstall and reinstall the drivers?

    1. What is the brand and model of the computer?

    2. are you aware of changes to the computer before the show?

    This problem normally occurs when the audio driver is not updated to the latest, or the driver installation may be corrupted. Before uninstalling the driver, try to run the troubleshooter to see if there is a problem with the system.

    Method 1:

    Let us make sure that the audio drivers are updated by visiting the computer manufacturer.

    I have 4 modules with graded questions after each module. When I click on the Retake Quiz button on the failure of quiz, I got properly into question 1/quiz module 1. But after receiving questions from module 1, I am taken to the content of module 2. Etc.

    How to display only the questions about the failure of quiz? The revisions quiz option on doing just that - questions only - no intermediate content.  Why not the possibility to resume the Quiz?

    Sorry, it's the design of slides of the Quiz, fairly strict rules. You can replace it using a conditional or shared tip action on enter for each or the first, according to the linearity of the course, slide after a slide of questionnaire content. There is a variable cpInfoAttempts of system quiz that is incremented each time you click the button back. It has the value 1, the first time you take the test. If you create a condition like "IF cpInfoAttempts is greater than 1, you know you're in at the second attempt. At this point, you can jump to the first question slide in module 2.
