Layer has no errors of source?

Hello!

I am trying to replace the selected area with the logo of twitter as well as keep the animations in place, but every time I Alt + click - move it project in the timeline panel, this message appears:

"After effects error: layer has no source (26 § 335)"

I don't know what is the cause and how to fix it, I'm also pretty new to legacy. Could someone help me solve this problem?

I don't think that matte is the best option in this project. If there is no animation in the square box layer 1 so it's a better solution:

  1. Add the Logo (image or animation model - information on your model of the Logo later) to the composition LT15 just above the layer of square box 1
  2. Hold the SHIFT key and the Logo of the square box 1 parent layer
  3. Turn off the visibility of the square box 1 layer

Hold down the SHIFT key will be the Logo of align on the same position and adapts a rotation of the parent layer and pick up any animation you have in the layer in the same way as images of replacement would have worked if you had used a solid or an image for the placeholder square box.

I think you have other workflow and procedure problems too. While it is true that the use of layers of form as placeholders is not a good idea there are a few other inefficiencies in your project. It's the first thing that concerns me.

It seems to me that you use a composition full size with just a twitter logo in the Middle as the source file for an element which is approximately 150 pixels square. I don't know what is in the layout of the Logo, but if it's just a twitter logo, then you would be better to use the image (preferably vector) file. It will be much easier to work with. If you need something small like that of a nested composition, it is often better to make a model of the size of the assets. In this case if the placeholder is 150 square pixels then the replacement model should also be about 150 square pixels.

Another way to replace a shape with images layer is to compose before the shape layer and then put your replacement asset in the demo or directly to replace the demo with images. The only problem with that is the entire animation that you added to the shape layer will not translate into sequences of replacement.

It takes time to get a good handle on how to use shape layers and to understand how the shapes relate to their anchor points and transformations of form you can use these values to control the other layers.

If it were my project, I would have used active vector of the layer Logo and a solid for the placeholder instead of comp. It is difficult to say with certainty, because I have no idea what is happening in the nested composition or what kind of animation or effects that you added to the box place 1 layer.

I also noticed an error in the expression, but if you arrive not resolved it to go probably in another post.

    I'm on a Mac, and I'm just eager to replace the images by using the process of selection of the layer and then the Option by dragging the new images on the name of the layer. He has worked previously, but now in AE CS6, CC and CC 2014:

    User error (me). It is not currently possible to replace a shape with images layer.
    I was confused a shape layer with a solid (after the use of camera tracking).

    As to #2, above:

    He now works using the keyboard shortcut: Cmd, Opt, /.
    I don't know why the button Option-do drag method does not work (the factory key Option everywhere else),.
    but I won't argue with success.

    I add a text layer and then add my custom fill effect. Then I call AdvItemSuite1()-> PF_ForceRerender (in_data, & (params [0]-> u.ld)) of the CEAP for all layers. But only for the text layer, AE will appear a dialog box displays the following error message:

    text layers is really a source (as opposed to solids which do).

    any source operation you will do an a text layer will give an error.

    It goes the same for shape layers.

    I assume you mean to press card? Use a card reader and my computer to see the map

    It should look like a flash drive. If you right-click on the map, select Properties, disk repair tools.

    Run the two tests. If it looks good, it back up to the computer and use the attached procedure.
