  Go to Device Manager and click the map broadband which need pilots. Click on the driver tab, click on set to update driver.

  Once the new RAM is installed in the expansion slot, Windows will not start and crashes just on screen "starting Windows." Then I tried a test of memory using the system BIOS diagnostic tool, but the laptop either hangs around 35% (I left it there for about two hours), restarts, or stops altogether. I thought that I would give to the system try, repair tool but which caused also just the laptop restart. Curiously, when I check the "System information" tab the system diagnostics, the two RAM sticks are detected with current and accurate information.

  I contacted eBuyer, they sent a replacement out there, but I'm having the same problem again. So, I thought I would try to install new RAM in the internal slot instead (under the keyboard), but now I have a BSOD during the 'Starting Windows' screen, give me code error, "IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL"

  I read on some forums tech upward. One of them suggested runs what is called 'Memtest' at startup via the CD, I tried, but the laptop restarts only during the first passage of the test of memory (and of course some loops over and over again until I remove the CD).

  I'm starting to lose hope! Any help/advice/suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

• I have a macbook pro 2009 environment.  Upgrading ram 8 GB and it becomes extremely hot.  Never done with 4 GB. Only using a Firefox window.

  Do you have what brand of RAM installed? Some brands will interrupt in modern Macs.

  It is possible that you hit a cooling fan connector while improving the RAM. Find the system of installation/restore disks accompanying you MBP and use them to run Apple Hardware Test. Instructions here:

  That will be displayed if a fan has trouble.

  The slowest ram you have in any location determines your memory can run at the highest speed. In this case it seems that you have one of the slots filled with "2nd slot 512 MB DDR 266 mhz" which is the speed max your Front Side Bus (memory) will be held in.

  The best you can do is check the BIOS to see if the FSB / memory speed is set correctly. You can also install CPU ID to check the speed of your memory is running to.
