  • OID: How to add users to the group through LDIF

How am I suppose to assign users a group? It seems that, under the present:

    DN: cn = < role name >, cn = < domain >, groups
    objectClass: top
    objectClass: groupOfUniqueNames
    objectClass: orclGroup
    DisplayName: role
    Description: role for this user
    uniqueMember: < full DN >
    CN: < role_name >

According to this example, when I add a group, I can specify a uniquemember, a user. Am I suppose to do?

uniqueMember: < full DN for the user 3 >
uniqueMember: < full... the DN of the user >
    CN: < role_name >

The example that you mentioned will create a new group with users uniquemember as members of this group

While it will be assign uses uniquemember to an existing group.

    DN:CN =, cn = groups,
    ChangeType: modify
    Add: uniquemember
    uniqueMember:
    ...

    Hope this helps,

  • After an accident on my PC Win10, how can I copy my contacts from my old PC Win7 on the machine Win10 Thunderbird?

Both machines have the latest version of Thunderbird. I can't find any route in the menus that will do the job I need. I tried probably all FAQ relevant again to nothing does not.

I don't think that there is a formal instruction to achieve this.

First of all, is to copy your entire profile more useless in this case? Which would transfer your address books and much more.

    https://support.Mozilla.org/en-us/KB/Profiles-TB

If you want to really just move address books, you can copy files from *.mab of one Thunderbird profile to another. Address book PAB lives in abook.mab and collected addresses lives in history.mab. These two may be copy-and-paste from one profile to another butmake Thunderbird is closed first. Other files *.mab represent user-defined address books and must be imported after them have been copied to the new system. Use https://nic-nac-project.org/~kaosmos/morecols-en.html for that.

Inside Thunderbird itself, you can export the address book files and their re-importation to the new machine. The LDIF file format works best for this. You can also use CSV, but you will find that you need to select and arrange data fields.

  • How to import contacts from a file on my desktop wab?

My contacts came from a windows xp computer and have been exported to a wab file.
How can I now import these out of my office?

Looks like you will need to use a Microsoft program: http://fileinfo.com/extension/wab

I hope whatever you find to open this file can export to a CSV or perhaps LDIF or VCF file, then import Thunderbird.

  • How can I remove the empty address book folders?

Export and import of my collected folders and personal address, I first tried to export and import the folder "AddressBook" no address could be copied from high level, so it created new empty folders of collected and personal address on my new computer. Then I exported and imported the collected individual records and personal address from my old computer to my new computer which uses Windows 10.

The problem is that my new computer has now two folders named collected addresses, a vacuum with a capital "A" address and another with a lower case 'a' address and two folders named personal address book, a vacuum with a great book 'B' and another which addresses has a tiny 'b' book in his name.

I tried to delete empty folders by selecting a vacuum and by going to Edit | Book addresses to delete and left click on it, but nothing happens. The empty folder is not deleted. Perhaps thinking that they had protected the names, I tried to change the names of empty folders to different names, but failed to do so. (I change the name of a folder to group e-mail address).

How can I delete the two folders to empty address book? If this is not possible, then how can it change their names 'Empty' to so I don't select them in the future? Thank you.

    have you tried dragging them

    or this add-om https://freeshell.de//~kaosmos/morecols-en.html

The add-on provides an option to import and export native files of MAB. So, you can replace an address book with another. No export and import required.

then go to your old install and locate the (PAB) abook.mab and History.mab (collected addresses) or use the add-on or close Thunderbird and replace the vacuum with a full tank.

  • I can't find my lists of contacts in my address book, how can I get back them?

I have about 12 lists that I mail. They're all gone. The names and email addresses are still in the address book, but I don't know how to recover my lists.

    Hello, Bobby

It could be a case of file corruption in the address book file. The personal address book exists in the profile folder ( Profile_Folder ) as a file named abook.mab. With Thunderbird closed, place yourself in the profile folder and see if there is a file with a name similar to that, but including bak in the extension of file or name. If there is, try to rename abook.mab to abookmab.old and rename the other abook.mab file. Restart Thunderbird and see if the addresses are present.

  • How can I copy the address book Thunderbird from Windows to Ubuntu?

I use Windows on a Pc 8.1 and 14.04 Ubuntu on the other.

Thanks in advance for your help

    Best regards

    EP

I think the best way is to export address books needed of the LDIF files on the first machine and import the LDIF files on the second machine.

Alternatively, you can copy the files from *.mab data from one machine to the other. Two default address books are represented by abook.mab and history.mab and can be simply copied. Other user-defined address books will be designated as abook1.mab etc. and will have to be imported. I'd say MoreColumnsForAddressBook for this task.

  • How can I send a group of addresses of recipients to someone else?

I regularly send messages to groups of recipients (5 to 50 in size). Someone supports a part of my work; How can I send a group of addresses without having to type all of them again?
I tried watching a group of addresses in "address", highlighting its content and by pressing Ctrl-C; but by pressing Ctrl-V in the body of an email to him does not.

You can export books complete addresses or mailing lists.

If these groups are already in you mailing lists the address book opens the address book and click on the folder in the list to highlight. Then go to Tools-Export.

Then name the file, choose where to save it and decide what file format can use the new person.

The LDIF format is best if they are a user of Thunderbird. Separated by commas works with most, and can be opened in Excel to view or change.

    And then send the file.

Export your address book is a good way to save problems later.

  • How to copy my address book Thunderbird to my Contacts of the Ipad?

I use Thunderbird at home, but use my Ipad to send Emails when outdoors. I don't want to get into all my contacts manually, so how do I copy them to my Ipad contacts folder?

I don't know anything about the iPad, but the question boils down to:

    (a) which can import the request or the iPad e-mail address book?
    (b) whose answers to (a) bogus Thunderbird generate?

Thunderbird can generate files LDIF and CSV with an appropriate add-on, vCard files. How would physically load you these in the iPad, even if they were compatible? Is viable wifi or bluetooth heat transfer between the two devices?

The iPad can sync with any system of external contacts, such as the Google Contacts?

This article gives suggests that some Apple products can work with data in CSV, LDIF and vCard.

I suspect that the most likely approach vCards that works is to send attachments to email in Thunderbird, and to open and accept vCards on the iPad.

    You will need this add-on:

    https://NIC-NAC-project.org/~kaosmos/morecols-en.html

    to generate vCards in Thunderbird.

  • If I put in place a new AddressBook in 31.2 TB, will be saved in my profile, if not, how to save it? Win 7 pro

lost the computer from lightning, old hd as external HD have restored profile but no address book. TB 31.2 saves the address books in your profile or do I do it again, but how to save it? Thank you!

If you can find abook.mab and history.mab on the old disk, copy them on the existing abook.mab and history.mab into the new profile folder to retrieve your old address book staff and collected addresses.

If there are other mab on the old disk files, import them into TB with the help of this add-on: MoreFunctionsForAddressBook.
