  I'm new to SharePoint and learn to use SharePoint as an end user. I it running on a VMWare virtual server, Windows 2008, using the Google Chrome browser.

  I need access to SharePoint Designer to change a column width. I activated by:

  1. To access the Site, Site Collection Administration settings, SharePoint Designer settings
  2. Enable SharePoint Designer
  3. Allow the detachment of the Site definition Pages
  4. Enable Custom Master Pages and Page layouts
  5. Enable the URL of Web Site Structure management

  When I click on Site Actions, Edit in SharePoint Designer, the page is empty. Is there anything else I should do?

• Deleting a Sharepoint SQL database

  I have a Windows SBS 2008 Server and my OS drive is out of space. We run an exchange server to let you know that if you go to low disk space the exchange server can start acting funky. I found a sharepoint SQL database file that is 9 GB that I would delete, but I was not able to.

  I followed some instructions to make the files smaller newspapers through SQL Server Management Express, but I couldn't connect to a database that has been "Microsoft internal...." ", where I suspect the Sharepoint SQL database is located.
  In the end, we do not use Sharepoint so I would just delete the files associated with it. I also tried to follow the instructions on how to uninstall sharepoint, only to discover that it is not installed on the current server.
  I am at a loss on what to do now. Honestly every article I google was too technical for me. Thus, any suggestions with real instructions would be very beneficial for me! I am very tech savy, but have not learned much jargon tech Server at all and I'm a newb to SQL databases.

  I have 64 bit explore.  So I guess that the thought is that the error message was generated by the incoming file, as I have other files Excel I can access in Sharepoint with no problem?  I sent the file Outlook e-mail and was able to open it with no problem at all.  .

  WebDAV is just a protocol where you can transfer files via HTTP.
  You need to install (on IIS for example):
  http://learn.IIS.NET/page.aspx/350/installing-and-configuring-WebDAV-on-IIS-70/

  Then from sharepoint, you must point to the same location.
  Check the documentation of your sharepoint, maybe they speak webdav integration

  Hi for the upgrade to El Capitan certain "auto filled / Auto correct ' elements are incorrrect.  These are the "learned" words or phrases.  (More precisely, of someones name and a company name) I try to type the word in hope, he will stay as I typed but I constsntly having to go back and fix it. It slows things down and is quite annoying. I don't know if it was the upgrade or I could type the first time hurt in El Capitan and now it is stuck there.

  Thanks for the clarification on the h which is exactly the test/email that gets sent when you or someone on your pc is to create a conversation of Hello firefox and click the "link email" to invite another person to this conversation. This is something that happens and gets sent after manual steps by the user, so there should not be a reason to worry about this.

  I plugged a disk external DRIVE via USB my cable provider Modem/Router so I could access it on my Macbook.  When I get K command in the finder, it appears like a number and a sharepoint folder.  When I double click on the folder that nothing appears.  The drive is formatted Mac OS journaled and works fine when plugged directly into the Macbook so I know it works.  I know that's not good to go but any help would be greatly appreciated.

  A third-party router is unable to read a disc in Mac OS format. You must follow the manufacturer's instructions to reformat the hard drive on the router. This will delete all data on the disk.

  If you have two Macs, you can of course share the drive from one to the other without reformatting.
