Learning Oracle Core DBA

Hi all

Currently I work as Oracle Apps DBA in organization and I also work some time on the central part also. But I am facing some problems of time because I haven't worked much on the central part. As I started my first job it self Apps DBA only. So my question is I want to learn more about the central part. Can you guide me how can I get information on sid more basic? I would like to know what that each ordinary working day is made by core dba. I would like your help appricated.

Thank you
Vishal Joshi

Well, I certainly encourage you to follow a course of Oracle University, because it would give you a very structured way to learn things and all the demo and Hands we could work without a doubt in the OU lab environment. So that would be my next suggestion in addition to read and play with the db by yourself.

  • Just failed 1z0 - 060, would be selftest exam prep 1z0-067 to be the best route to study for the section Core DBA?

    Hello

Upgrade of 1z0-060 12 c the weekend reviewing.

I almost spent the new features section, but not quite a few on the section s/n Basic.

I spent probably 150-200 hours studying for the what's new section.

Rate the new section of features through one or two questions.

    I was not on 12 c yet.

However, I've spent hardly studied anytime for the s/n of base section.

My strategy now is to buy the selftest 1z0-067 software to see if I can freshen up on core dba stuff.

    Thank you Roger

However, I've spent hardly studied anytime for the s/n of base section.

Like bigdelboy said, I consider that section Core s/n the harder of the two--largely because it is more difficult to prepare for. Several issues in this section are extremely broad.  "Solving the problems of network and database" and 'Implementation Application Tuning' in particular are ridiculously broad themes.

That said, I don't consider any practice tests to be the place to learn the material.  In my opinion, their place in the grand scheme of things is to see if you're ready for the real exam and to diagnose where are your weaknesses * after * having prepared using other materials. The most probable resource for the Core section in my opinion would be the Oracle Press book "Manual of DBA Oracle Database 12 c" by Bob Bryla http://www.amazon.com/dp/0071798781 - something equivalent.

This book should have broad coverage of basic skills Oracle DBA. That said - I have * not * its table of contents against the topics in the section s/n review basic recut.  I recommend you to do this before making a decision to buy the book.

Mainly Oracle apps dba also manage task as base s/n, but apps dba also gives support to the application side (EBS). Apps dba can apply the fix of db and also apply the application path. Apps dba monitor activity db & performance and also make samethink to application etc etc...

  • Want to learn Oracle SOA

    Hi guys,.

I am interested in learning SOA. I don't know where I should start? Can you please provide the materials and tutorials? I have a question how long it will take to learn Oracle SOA?

    Thank you
    Ravi

    Hello

Oracle documentation is the best resource to learn how SOA.
If you are a beginner and become aware of the concepts of SOA, you can take a look at different blogs like www.soatutor.com.

And regd. time to learn how SOA, it depends completely on how much time you spend. If you have your basic right, it is not very difficult to learn. He could probably take about 2 months to have a good understanding about SOA Suite(most of the components) spend about 2 hours a day :)

I mean what I have to understand the logical buinseess financuil and the logic of HR and...

Well with the database, an Apps DBA should have good understanding of the layer of APPS, which is the application server. Apps DBA should also have the strong on the architecture of the first E - Business Suite, as interact it between different levels and where newspapers are present, if the scripts are, where are the files produced, how many nodes are there, etc. etc.

    Hello

It comes to learn Oracle, be it linux or Windows. I suggest you all first learn about windows for ease of use and availbility of external tools (not that they are not available for linux, but then you have to fight for their installation). Once you are comfortable, then you should use linux. Visit this link for platiform compatibility for future reference
