Delete a Bluetooth partnership

Is there a limit on the number of matches Bluetooth device will support? I am assuming that this varies depending on the version of OS and perhaps platforms.

What happens when the maximum is reached and the connection attempt is performed by a connection to a new device?

Is there a way stripped to remove a pairing?

Grateful for any help on this forum.

Sincerely,

Anil S.

Is there a defined behavior as to what happens when you try to pair with a new device when you already 20 pairs?

Sincerely,

Anil S.

I don't know what the Protocol, when your post is marked resolved, but the issue is not entirely resolved.

Palm 750 WM6, Telstra Australia; I'm having a problem deleting my Treo Bluetooth partnerships.

When I go through the sequence to REMOVE partnerships in accordance with the instructions in the Treo that is

    (1) press start > settings

    (2) select the Connections tab

(3), select Bluetooth, and then select the devices tab

    (4) select the partnership you want to end

    (5), select Remove.

I got the Treo in partnership with Blueant Z9 Bluetooth headset, however, after a month, the Z9 battery was defective and he died, the Z9 was replaced under warranty.

I matched the Z9 with the Treo replacement, now I have two instances of the Z9 in the list but you can't delete one or the other, also have GPS in the list and which cannot delete either.

I'm not sure but the Z9 is not working as it should, maybe because there are 2 two instances in the Treo.

I want to remove all Bluetooth partnerships and to start again, but after I finished the sequence (4), the screen goes to the next screen titled "Partnership settings" and there is no DELETION to select.

I removed and replaced the battery and pressed the "Reset" button inside the compartment for the memory card, but nothing allows me to remove two instances of the Z9.

Not sure where to go from here any help appreciated.

I guess that Palm could be a little clearer on it in the instructions on deleting a partnership, however your advice worked like a charm.

  • Delete the Bluetooth device

Bluetooth instructions say you can delete a Bluetooth device "clicking the X to the right of the name of the device.

BuzzT! Wrong answer. There is NO SUCH THING as an X to the right of the names of the two Bluetooth headphones that I see on the list of connectable devices quickly on my iMac 5 K. So I can't find a way to just, of course, quickly disconnect one of them and make disappear.

So, the question remains. How does one get rid of a Bluetooth device in the list? You know, to try to start over.

There is an 'x' on the right of the unit if you move the mouse here:

  • Cannot delete the sync partnership

This is the second time that this has happened after I re-installed Windows 7 to solve it the first time. When I have copied a standard file from W7 as my Pictures\Slideshows or moved to the location of Username\Downloads on a network share, it created a sync partnership, and I now have a sync icon in the system tray.

How can I remove the sync partnership and thus get rid of the icon?

The previous post in "Cannot complete the partnership Sych" does not work, and as you can see in their someone mentioned that he did not work for them either.

I can't delete the sync partnership, and I already disabled "Make available offline" on the record, but the link still Synchronization Manager. I searched on the internet and tried all sorts of suggestions such as adding FormatDatabase registry key and taking possession of the CSC folder and delete the files hidden in offline mode. None of it worked, and it seems that a lot of people have the same problem.

How can we just cancel a sync partnership?

    Any ideas?

    Hello Marilyn,.

Thanks for the reply. Unfortunately, I had tried that before and even if it meant that the partnership is now empty (when you try to drill into it), the partnership itself is still listed which keeps the icon synchronize in the system tray. Now just disabled files offline on a clean place, I have install so it I hope that never to create them in the first place. I don't think it is a bug or poorly implemented the feature and should be wound for a fix in a future update or a service pack.

  • 'Delete Failed' Bluetooth device

I had problems to make my audio adapter Logitech Bluetooth S-00113 to work with my Acer S7 - 391 running Windows 8. Acer has been pushing WiFi and Bluetooth driver updated since last year. After the driver was updated, the Logitech audio adapter still does not work - it remains in "offline" mode In the past, I was able to remove the device and re-pair. It would sometimes work after doing this. After this last driver update, can I remove is no longer the device - I get a message "Cannot delete"

How can I remove the Bluetooth audio adapter?

p.s. the Logitech audio adapter works great with my iPod, it is not a hardware problem.

I had the same problem as you. I've solved this by removing several registry keys using PSTools (psexec-i s regedit) while in a command prompt run as administrator. Then, I removed all Bluetooth devices by using Device Manager. I've downloaded windows 8.1 support and then reinstalled the Windows only system (not user files or programs).

I came to this solution after two below-related forums.

    1. a good explanation of the problem: http://stackoverflow.com/questions/5964685/how-do-i-totally-delete-reset-bluetooth-settings-in-windows-7

    2. the registry entries that should be deleted: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/811805

I downloaded the Microsoft installation media of: http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows-8/create-reset-refresh-media

    I downloaded PSTools from: https://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/sysinternals/bb897553.aspx

Overall, the process took 30 minutes to solve after I had spent 9 hours of troubleshooting. The problem seems to lie in the fact that enumerator Microsoft's Bluetooth not publish the device in the list. The list is stored in the registry, so even that if you remove the enumerator in the list of devices, it regenerates itself.

  • Cannot delete the bluetooth device in Windows 8 RTM (running on MacBook Pro)

My office uses Macs but allows employees to use BootCamp to run both environments. I was able to add a pair of headphones bluetooth without problem, but now can't remove them in order to re-pair.

    The event viewer shows:
    Withdrawal of the device node 'BTHENUM\Dev_001816064C73\a & 383f14a7 & 0 & BluetoothDevice_001816064C73' failed with error code 0 x 80070490.

I've never seen that happen before, and can only find references error code 0 x 80070490 Windows Update problems.

Ran sfc/scannow, but came back clean. Any ideas/suggestions?

The same thing happened to me when I tried to remove a bluetooth mouse, so that I can add another.

I tried the above solution presented by Angela T., as he made a lot of sense, but which still has not worked for me and the old mouse maintained reappear.

The problem I encountered was that I was using the Bluetooth devices icon in the box 'Notifications' from the background toolbar on the desktop (i.e. the lower right part of the screen where things like time, volume, etc., are displayed).
For some reason, try to remove the mouse open bluetooth devices window through this icon is mess up every time.

I managed to make it work in the pop-up toolbar that appears when you place your cursor in the lower right of your screen and clicking on 'settings' (the icon that looks like a gear) and then by clicking on "change pc settings" at the bottom.  This brought me to the 'Pc settings' window where I could add and remove devices.  Now when I tried to delete the old mouse and add the new to here, it worked perfectly fine.

Crazy, I know, but it fixed the problem for me.

  • Cannot delete a bluetooth device

Trying to connect new helmet LG your Ultra for Dell Inspiron N5110 under Windows 7 Home Premium. During the first tests, the Atrium coupled very well, but no sound. In trying to solve this problem, I removed and the helmet has added a few times. Now the helmet said it is 'connected', but it does not appear in the menu of the device. Therefore, I can't remove the helmet or otherwise keep trying to make it work.

    Hey Cameron,

    1. You can connect another Bluetooth device with the computer?
    2. Have you tried to connect this Bluetooth headset with another computer?

You could deal with this question for several reasons such as a Bluetooth outdated\corrupted driver, changes to the settings Bluetooth etc. You can refer to the suggestion of Divya R in the following link and check if it helps.

  • IOS 10 & Ford does Sync 3 no Bluetooth Audio

    Hi all

I have updated to IOS 10 on my iPhone 6s more yesterday.  I tried to make calls when connected via Bluetooth with Ford Sync 3 (2016 F150).  I am not getting any audio.  I can finish the call from the sync screen.  In my view, that the call is connected.  Sirius radio continues to play and is not cut.

I tried deleting the Bluetooth device (forget) synchronization of the iPhone.  Then I deleted the profile of iPhone the Sync system.  I have re-paired the iPhone and the same questions persist.

It seems IOS 10 and 3 sync on the F150 don't work well.

    Any ideas would be appreciated.

The point on the issue.  I closed all open applications of force.  Then rebooted phone.  Went out to the truck and calls Bluetooth started working.  If all goes well, it stays that way.

How can I get these unnecessary items on the menu?

  • Bluetooth device not no projection in sound-> output

My bluetooth (speaker) device indicates 'Connected' in the list of bluetooth devices (in preferences-> Bluetooth system).

However, I don't see it as an option when I go to Preferences-> sound-> release system.

Any thoughts why? This has worked in the past, but not at the moment. I have not tried to restart my machine.

    Hi JVogue,

Looks like you are unable to select your bluetooth device paired as a source of audio output to system preferences. I would start by pairing not your device:

Remove a device from your Mac

If you want to remove (désapparier) a device from the list of devices on your Mac, follow these steps:

    1. Choose the Apple menu > System Preferences, and then click Bluetooth.
    2. Place the pointer on the device you want to remove, and then click the button which appears next to the device name.

Note: After you delete a Bluetooth device, you need to repeat the pairing process, if you want to use again.

From: using a Bluetooth mouse, keyboard or trackpad with your Mac

When that is done, start in safe mode. This will clear some system-level caches and perform a disk check and repair if necessary:

Follow these steps to start in safe mode.

    1. Start or restart your Mac.
    2. As soon as you hear the startup tone, hold down the SHIFT key.
    3. Release the SHIFT key when you see the logo Apple appears on the screen.

After the Apple logo appears, this may take longer than usual to reach the login screen or your office. This is because your Mac performs a check of directory of your drive to boot in safe mode.

To leave safe mode, restart your computer without pressing any keys during startup.

From: try safe mode if your Mac does not start-up

Once you log in safe mode, that's all you need to do there, then restart your computer as usual using Apple > restart. Pair the device again, and then check that you can select as output. Thank you for using communities of Apple Support, all the best!

  • My mac broken Migration Assistant! (Bluetooth, permissions etc.)

So a few days ago, I decided to use the Upsizing Wizard to make certain files and applications in front of my imac 2008 to my imac to 2014.  Running osx 10.11.4.  Part of the reason was to put all of my files in one place and consolidate my backups that I didn't have a recent backup of the unit in 2014.

Long story short, bluetooth doesn't work anymore so I can't connect my trackpad or mouse or keyboard and Office 2011 is no longer opens either.  I lost the permission to delete or edit a bunch of files too.

I tried most of the things I can find via google, such as deleting the bluetooth plist file.  However, the plist in my library/preferences folder files are all unlocked.  Nothing seems to unlock.  I can not add an admin via the permissions option.  I tried to disable SIP.  I also did a full reinstall of Mac OS x.  Nothing works.

I have 1 admin account and 1 guest.

Really get pretty annoyed now how the poor migration tool is and evil, it's done.  Apple support suggested the re-installation of Mac OS x, but that made no difference so have another call reserved (e).    I need to be able to use Office because I work from home!

    Anyone have any ideas?

Please, back up all data before proceeding.

This procedure will unlock all your user (not system files) files and reset their ownership, permissions and default access controls. If you have voluntarily set special values for these attributes on any of your files, they will be be restored. In this case, either stop there, or be ready to recreate the settings if necessary. Do that after checking these settings that did not cause the problem. If none of that is meaningful to you, you need not worry about this, but do not follow the instructions below.

    Step 1

If you have more than one user, and the one in question is not an administrator, then go to step 2.

Triple-click anywhere in the next line to this page to select this option:

    sudo find ~ $TMPDIR.. -exec chflags -h nosappnd,noschg,nosunlnk,nouappnd,nouchg {} + -exec chown -h $UID {} + -exec chmod +rw {} + -exec chmod -h -N {} + -type d -exec chmod -h +x {} + 2>&-

Copy the selected text in the Clipboard by pressing Control-C key combination.

Launch the Terminal application integrated in one of the following ways:

☞ Enter the first letters of his name in a Spotlight search. Select from the results (it should be at the top).

☞ In the Finder, select go utilities ▹ of menu bar or press the combination of keys shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.

☞ Open LaunchPad and start typing the name.

Paste in the Terminal window by pressing Command + V. I tried these instructions only with the Safari browser. If you use another browser, you may need to press the return key after pasting.

You will be asked your password of connection that are not displayed when you type. Type carefully, and then press return. You can get a warning to be careful. If you do not have a password, you will need to configure one before you can run the command. If you see a message that your user name "is not in the sudoers file", then you have not logged as an administrator.

The command may take several minutes to run, depending on the number of files you have. Wait for a new line ending with a dollar sign ($) to appear, and then quit Terminal.

    Step 2 (optional)

Take this step only if you have trouble with the phase 1, if you prefer not to consider, or if this does not resolve the problem.

Start in recovery mode. You may be prompted to select a language, then the OS X Utilities appears.

If you use FileVault 2, select disk utility, then select the icon for the volume FileVault startup ("Macintosh HD", unless you have given it a different name.) It will be nested under another icon of the disc. Select open in the file menu and enter your login password when you are prompted. Then quit disk utility must be returned to the main screen.

    Select

    Utilities ▹ Terminal

in the menu bar. It will open a Terminal window. In this window, type this:

    resetp

Press the tab key. The partial order you entered will automatically end this:

    resetpassword

Press return. Opens a window to reset the password. You do not need to reset a password.

Select your boot volume ("Macintosh HD", unless you have given it a different name) if not already selected.

Select your username in the menu option allows you to select the account if not already selected.

Under Reset Home Directory Permissions and ACLs, click the reset button.

    Select

    ▹ Restart 

    in the menu bar.

OK so I installed the 10.11.4 level because it was proposed in the section updates in the app store.

Since then, no Bluetooth, so no keyboard or trackpad, unless I hook them up via brightening cables.

    I tried-

1 deleting the Bluetooth plist file and restart with no other connected devices.

    2 reset the SMC.

    3. the 1 and 2 above

Have had no results so still no bluetooth.

I'm not impressed, for a brand new iMac to fail on an Apple update and, more important still, it has not impressed SWMBO, (one that must be respected), which was anyway anti passage from Windows to Apple. If I lose - no change there then

What else to try? Back to Apple?

You restart just your Mac, or are you stopping and then restart only to have continued problems bluetooth? I have 2 computers here El Capitan 10.11.4 and none missed a beat with Connectivity Bluetooth - with Apple, or third-party products.
