  • Lenovo X 1 Yoga (20FQ) clean Windows 10 Pro Install UEFI

    Hello

I decided to do a clean install of Windows 10 Professional (x 64) on my Lenovo X 1 Yoga (20FQ).

I'm currently pulling my hair out trying to install Windows 10 in UEFI mode, I want to do so that I can use all the features of the TPM and bitlocker. No matter what I do I was not able to install Windows 10 Professional (x 64) in UEFI mode, I was able to install it in legacy mode. I tried several BIOS configurations in terms of disable/enable Legacy UEFI OS at startup, but when I put the BIOS only UEFI mode the key USB Windows 10 Professional (x 64) (that I created using the file .iso image downloaded with Microsoft download tool), the machine refuses to boot from the USB or PCIe-NVMe UEFI in mode only.

Can someone point me to a guide to install Windows to UEFI mode?

I'm sure to UEFI, the file system must be FAT32 not NTFS.

It may seem strange for NTFS works with 'legacy', but not UEFI - but I think that FAT32 is now considered a 'standard' and integrated with UEFI while NTFS is still proprietary format of Ms...

It is good to hear that your Tablet works normally Sevast99! I hope that other people have the same results after perfomring my 'fix '.

Also, perhaps a moderator could sticky my solution? Here it is again:

    Step by step solution:

Switched on and enabled on-demand Power Off - software is complicated... maybe a toggle to clear the bug?

Energy saving enabled Sceen and GPU - this is under power management settings

Toggled on and toggled off "Turn off applications when the screen is off" - same as before thought process. Maybe it's buggy.

Set the Smart Switch Lenovo on 'Manual' - I don't know what it is, but the automatic mode means that I can't control it... and I don't like it.

  • Installing drivers Lenovo no? Yoga 2 Pro - video drivers for DX 11 games

So, I use a Yoga 2 Pro. I love this laptop / Tablet what you want to call it, but the biggest problem I always seem to have is related to video games. I realize this isn't a game system, but it would be nice to play some.

The game I'm most interested in playing is civilaztion 5. CIV 5 joined in the tactile controls game great and works great as a game of Tablet. However, because screen super high resolution of the Yoga 2 Pro, I am unable to run the game in full resolution. The best compromise is 1600 x 900. The issue is that launch the game with the forces of active controls touch game live x 11 mode. Direct X 11 mode, running at a resolution not standard messes with scaling of display. So I find myself with a small box centered in the middle of the screen surrounded by black bars, instead of the lowest resolution, the scale of the display.

There is a work around, which is to introduce the resolution 1920 x 1080 via the Panel of control intel everything first before running the game, but it is a pain.

This seems to be a driver problem, but lenovo does not seem to care never update of drivers as the latest drivers that seem to all come from October or November. I tried to install the intel drivers directly from Intel (which should work fine), but lenovo clearly has some block put in place to prevent the installation of unauthorized drivers.

So if anyone knows a solution to my problem or a way to install these drivers, that would be great, thanks!

Go to Device Manager, display driver and from there uninstall the driver currently installed. You will then be able to install the new Intel display driver. :-)

May need to restart before and after...

Not sure if the latest drivers will solve the problem you have.

It is not a problem to switch to a different resolution, it of just a few clicks, but to change the scale display so requires you to close the session, which is a chore. If the game does not need to change the display scale you use a resolution of 3200 x 1800 so you can just temporarily change resolution each time you play the game...

  • Lenovo Tablet 10 Yoga

    Hi all!

I was wondering if there are users of compressed Yoga 10 that could help me with something.

I think buying Yoga 10 HD + once it comes out, and aims to use it for the school to buy it.

My question is - is there good apps for the Android operating system, that allows me to take notes comfortably and then probably send them on my other computer? And also, there are all the apps that would make charts in excel, or presentations (power point)?

    -Jack

OfficeSuite Pro works for me, for the processing and Spreadsheeting - has a tool for presentation as well.

Note taken raises several out there - barely touched the playstore - if you really want to get there, think Mindjet as a mindmapping tool. Should be your own layer of security over there - I prefer Lookout, but there are a lot of choices.

    Hello

What cannot me install the mobile version of ms office on yoga pro 2? Androd kitkat 4.4.2 version looks like comatible but ARM processor? No alternative suggestions, fix, or workaround.

    Thanks and greetings

It is apparently not compatible with Atom processors. In any case he is not one of the best office apps for Android. Try Kingsoft WPS instead, it's much better.

  • The Lenovo digitizer pen works for my Lenovo Yoga 15 500?

    Hello world!

I think to buy the pen digitizer of Lenovo laptop ThinkPad Yoga, that should work for the ThinkPad of Yoga series, but this pen would work for my Lenovo Yoga 15 500? I don't know anything about the difference between the Yoga / portable and I fear that my model is perhaps not compatible with the Interactive Pen (or would not give as much precision in the sensitivity to the touch).

    Thanks for your advice :-)!

As the Yoga 15 500 media focused on the EMR Wacom pens or pens based on AES of Wacom, your only option is a capacitive pen that works in the same way as your finger.

  • X 1 yoga (and Yoga 260) does not wake from sleep

    Hello

We got 2 x try and buy Lenovo Tablet portable Yoga (a X 1 Yoga and a Yoga 260) to assess their skills for our company, because we have the intention to upgrade many of our employees laptops. However, since we got the devices we noticed on two common problems with display and waking from sleep. Very often laptops awake properly with the screen remains black. In these cases, the backlight of the display seems to turn on, and I guess the system works somehow in the background. Put the computer to sleep again (for example, by closing the lid) makes the computer wake up correctly at the second attempt.

Different error in the same category is when a video is running and the laptop is connected to AC - plug the AC cord is black screen while playing the media kept its content.

All drivers have been updated to the latest version via 5.07.0029 Lenovo system update.

Any ideas? I also tried to open a support ticket, but Lenovo wanted to send and install a new (!) presentation. Apparently, it seems like a driver/software problem?

    Best regards

After finishing with a touch screen not responding not (as far as I can tell a result of v4.19 Touch Firmware Update) on top of the issue of the sleep-wake I'm frustrated and went through the process of reinstalling the entire system.

I used the reset at startup procedure to put the system back to factory settings. After factory reset the sleep-wake issue had disappeared. I applied about all the updates that are currently available via Lenovo system update and everything still works as expected. Still strange that this issue was not solvable by any other means before...

Interesting effect: after the reset of the touchscreen remained non-functional. After a few days without touching the laptop screen feature has finally decided to detect the HID. I certainly did not apply to update or change. 'Miracle' is almost an understatement in this case!

  • Keyboard Thinkpad yoga 12 has no effective keys

    Hello forum Lenovo.

I need help with my new Lenovo thinkpad, a Yoga 12.

I have a problem with the keyboard, missing keys that are required for efficient use. It is my only problem with the laptop but enough to have me consider getting a refund.

It should be possible to resolve these issues through software or registry hacks, I could use some suggestions as to how:

    1. no NumLock key, it would be great if I could put this on Fn + DELETE and put the pad on Fn + {common keys any laptop uses for these}

    2. right ALT does not cause for different symbols as is usually the case

    3. There is no context menu key, I would put this on the current PrtSc key

    4. left Ctrl and Fn key should probably change places

    (5. I could do with start and end on the left/right arrows)

I already searched the means to do so, all I found was a way to remap the keys, but not to create new combinations of keys without running the software permanently.

Any help in getting these basic necessities would be great, and I hope that my post will be less ignored that others complain about the keyboard.

    Regarding your point 4:

    4. left Ctrl and Fn key should probably change places

This is an option in the BIOS. Press F1 at startup, go to config and the keyboard/mouse (sorry it's memory the wording might be different) and to allow the Exchange.

With regard to your point 2:

    2. right ALT does not cause for different symbols as is usually the case

I'm not sure I understand, but you will get a different behavior from the left and right keys ALT if you set up a United States-international keyboard in Windows for example. Is that what you mean by Alt - Gr? If yes then it probably has to do with your keyboard layout in windows, rather than with the Thinkpad.

I assume you mean a webcam? There are opportunities
It's a low resolution camera and there is not much
    you could do to improve.

Granular can also result in low light environments.

Also, I suspect that the camera has a lens made of plastic
and they are not as sharp as a glass of good quality lens.

The following discussion seems to be the same camera
