Libraries on Windows 8

Suddenly and without apparent reason, I get a message "is no longer working" on all of my libraries i.e. photos, documents, music, videos.  This happens when I try to download pictures from my camera and when I am trying to open one of the libraries.   Does anyone else have this problem.    I finally started to feel that I could navigate in Windows 8 and now this!

Hello

Please try the fix mentioned here to solve this problem:
Hope this helps, good luck :)

  • Problem of libraries for windows 7 Home premium.

In the last week or two, it seemed to me having lost my library when I click on the folder of Windows Explorer in the taskbar. Only the library name appears but nothing under that. The only way I can get to my libraries is now to go to the start bar and find my photos, documents, music, etc. It worked very well, a week or two ago, but I think I had an update and now there are not accessible from the windows Explorer folder. Can someone help me? I have studied the menus help and can't to the show at this place now.

I have seen lately some information that suggests that McAfee might be responsible for this.  They have a support article on their Web site about this and how to work around it until they can release an update to fix it.

  • Lost all libraries in Windows Media Player

I had a very serious fight with a browser hijacker. I had great support from Microsoft to get results in the race, but in the process lost all my music from Windows Media Player libraries. I know that they are still in the computer, somewhere, because they went during the time of repair, but came back twice during the process of return to the somewhat operational. Is it possible to search for music files? I don't know if I should remove the player and download it somewhere (?) or go to another player or what. Some files have been compiled for many years and are not replaceable. I am running Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit, always keep up to date, have 4 GB of ram and 800 GB of free space on the HARD drive. I use MS Security Essentials with Malwarebytes and Advanced System Care Pro for maintenance. Is it possible to download a new copy of Media Player. I'm starting to ramble, so if anyone can point me in the right direction, I'd be deeply in your debt!

This seems to be a question of recovery then. No other player will improve the situation, unless the files are accessible. I could cite this entire thread of resettlement, but I think it would be better to mark this as replied and post a new question in the section 'repair and recovery' the Forum... something along the lines of 'Files lost after Browser Hijack' and then briefly detail what happened, what support you have received (and where) and I hope that someone recommends a plan of action to try to recover the lost files.
I'm sorry that a simpler solution is not an option!

These are the libraries associated with your computer.  It seems to be libraries associated with the host Windows group.  When a Home Group connection is not properly configured.  The icons of libraries are identical to your screenshot.  If the host group is configured.  Please try disjoint network home group and try to reconnect.  In addition, how long know you this problem?  Please continue with the following steps to support...

  • "Other libraries" adding Windows Media in Windows Media Center player.

So, I am absolutely delighted by the distance streaming media in Windows Media Player. I run a guitar shop, and it was really nice to have all of my music at home, on my desk, can be played in the store. As opposed to everything I hold on my laptop.

But the thing is that I run Windows Media Center on the TV, and all of my media that are on my laptop looks fantastic up there, covers of albums and video library and everything. But the thing is that I can not add the media that I'm streaming from remote media streaming option in Windows Media Center.

I can play media in Windows Media Player, and it will appear in Windows Media Center, but without album art. And I can not play videos in Windows Media Center unless I open them manually with Windows Media Center.

So basically, I ask if it is possible to add media in my "other libraries" using option of streaming WMP remote in the library in Windows Media Center?

Thank you much for the help!

    -Tazzlyn

If I understand what you're asking, you want to be able to use Internet in WMP
streaming between two places, but with the Media Center interface? You can not
    do this.

If you are using two computers on the same HOME, inside the media network
Center interface, you can add folders to the library from another computer.

  • Content of albums and libraries in Windows Media Player is removed

Original title: WMP 11 Trashes my Playlists

How can I keep WMP 11 to screw up my playlists?

Several times I had to re-create all my playlist. After they are created, they work for a while.
Then all to blow/unexpectedly when I open WMP 11 (on w/SP3 XP Pro installed) some of my albums disappeared and registration of the library is ransacked everything (songs missing, missing data, mysterious created albums).

Is it one that once I re-created all my playlists that I can save the file somewhere so when WMP 11 trashes them later, I can just remove the information in WMP 11 and copy the file (s) back to basics to avoid re-creating all my playlists over and over?

    Thank you

    Paul

    Hi Paul,.

    Welcome to the Microsoft community!

The album and lists the library in Windows Media Player are removed.

The problem may occur if the library database is corrupted.

You did changes to the computer before the show?

To overcome the problems which would pose if library database is corrupted, I suggest you follow the mentioned steps:

    Method 1:

    See the site:

You cannot view, add, or delete items in the library of Windows Media Player 11

    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/925718

    Method 2:

    See the site:

Solve the problems of Windows Media Player video and other media or library

    http://support.Microsoft.com/mats/windows_media_player_diagnostic/

If you want to reuse the library list and the album, and then copy the contents of the %LOCALAPPDATA%\Microsoft\Media Player in a different folder, and whenever you want to reuse, just copy in the original folder.

I hope this helps. If the problem persists, or if you have problems of Windows in the future, let us know and we would be happy to help you.

  • Y at - it an easy way to prevent a guest account, look at one of my libraries in Windows 7.

    Hello

I activated a guest account for visitors to use my laptop. At the moment this account can access my libraries (Documents, music, pictures, video). Y at - it a simple way to stop the account asked for access to the my library without going through each individual file included in these libraries and set the security permission individually (there are hundreds).

    Thank you

.. which could be difficult it is that it's a library rather than a record, I'm trying to restrict.

Libraries are always folders with security restrictions. When you click the start planet, then you can see your library online the same way I can see mine:

After clicking on my account name, I get this:

I clicked "My pictures" and was able to then click 'Properties', then 'security '.

If this sounds too hard then you should get a computer-savvy friend to help you, if only because something on your machine is not the way it should be. The guest account has no access to private others folders!

I don't want any uploaded photos, music or video to go to libraries on the default C:\ drive. How to load Windows 7 to do this? I want that music library on the m:\, the image on the drive P:\ library and the library of videos must be on the S:\ and I don't want music, photos or video libraries on my C:\ drive, can I get Windows 7 to do this?

    Hi Joseph

Libraries are virtual folders. They adopt any significant amount of space on the hard drive (the value by default 4 libraries use about 100 KB of disk space) and they don't use shortcuts. You can add a folder to the library and a library that contains 10 GB of files will use approximately 50 kilobytes of disk space.

The reason why they are named library is because they like the town library in your city that contains books from around the world.

The libraries provide a convenient way to view the files that are contained in many other cases and in many other places. You can view files in folders on other drives or, partitions and even network locations.

When you open a file in a library, you actually open the physical file in the folder that was added to the library. If you delete a file in a library, it will be removed from the physical folder.

Here are some links more information.

To free up disk space on the system (c) disk, you can move the physical folder (for example, My Documents, pictures, music, videos) that is included in a library to a different location.

    1. go on the target drive where you want to move the folder and create a new folder with the same name.

    2. on the C: drive, navigate to the folder that you want to move. Click on folder and select the tab properties/location.

    3. click on the move button and select the new folder that you created in the target drive.

See the following article for details.
