Library to transfer to the new computer
I synced my music library (100 + concerts) on my new computer with a transfer cable iTunes displays all albums and playlists but will play no. Error message:... original file is not found. Ideas?
Hello there doron34,
It seems to me that you moved the library to a new computer, but for some reason, iTunes cannot read the contents. It might be possible that iTunes is pointing to the library on the original computer, to verify that use this item to select the local library on your computer:
Open a different iTunes library file or create a
If this is not the case, there is always the possibility to locate this file when iTunes prompts and you should get a prompt asking you if you want than iTunes to do the same for other media that are not. If that does not solve the problem, then I then recommends removing the copied library and by following the steps described in the following article.

How to use transfer windows for xp to xp. When I plug usb computers are delivered to the top with the same screen and when I try to use the transfer to the new computer, it just said information gathering and sits for hours
Hello, welcome.
The process is automatic and the maximum transfer rate should be about 20 GB/HR. If the process crashes during that long of a time, it's probably because of something internal rather something you're doing wrong. For reference purposes, I included this link. It goes into the details of the migration from XP to Vista (and the basic steps you follow). The instructions are for migrating to Vista via the network, but you can easily follow the steps and choose a different option for your specific installation.http://www.windowsnetworking.com/articles_tutorials/migrating-Vista-using-Windows-easy-transfer.htmlFor both machines, I recommend you to prepare for the transfer using the following procedure:1. click on START > run2 type "msconfig" (without the quotes) and press enter3. go to the "Startup" tab and uncheck all the entries displayed4. click on 'Apply' at the bottom rightDO NOT RESTART YOUR COMPUTER AGAIN5. click on START > run6. Type "cmd" (without the quotes). Right-click on the result at the top of the menu START and select 'run as administrator '.7. type chkdsk /r and press enter8 allow the system to attempt disassembly of the volume9. allow the system to plan restarting10. restart your computer11 let checkdisk analyze the file system on your hard drive12. Once completed, perform the same steps on the other machine13. Once completed, repeat the transfer

Windows live photo gallery: original photos lost the transfer to the new computer
photos to the new computer, and the originals have not been transferred as im guessing they're saved in the software/program that cannot be transferred.
If there is not a way to transfer original and edited photos to the new computer, is there a way to return all original with a single click, so that I can transfer the originals on my new computer?
Thank you.
Thank you, you saved my originals... I copy paste, but can not work how to connect my pictures changed to the originals so that I can click on my modified photos and click on 'back '.
Thanks again
===========================================
Sorry, but I don't have the exact solution for re - associate the
originals with edited versions. The only thing I would like to know
to try would be to place the originals in the original Images
folder on the new system.Maybe... I say just that maybe if you copied the photo gallery
exclusive database of the old system and used it to replace
the database on the new system. (Just copy and paste the file in)
the appropriate on the new system folder, and when you see
... dialog box you want to replace? with? Select Yes.Also... you could instead of replace your new database...
rename it... Pictures.OLD for example. So if the replacement
do not re - associate files... you can remove the replacement
and rename the OLD version in what it was and the Gallery
must be as it was before the change.Depending on the version of your photo gallery might be the database
Pictures.PD5, Pictures.pd6, Pictures.pd7...The path to the version of Win XP is:
C:\Documents and Settings\ > user name<\Local>\Local>
Application Data\Microsoft\Windows Live Photo Gallery\
Pictures.PD4, Pictures.pd5 or Pictures.pd6Windows Vista:
C:\Users\[username]\AppData\Local\Microsoft\
Windows Photo Gallery\Pictures.pd4 or pd5 pd6Windows 7:
Windows\Users\%username%\AppData\Local\Microsoft\
Windows Live Photo Gallery\Pictures.pd6(Sorry, but I'm not sure of the path in Windows 8 but if you)
do a search for PD6 PD7, you should be able to find it.The former article is a user experience
with the shifting of the database... maybe it would offer a few ideas:Database migration Vista Windows Photo Gallery

Can I transfer to the new computer hard drive with the operating system
I am building a new computer and want the best way to transfer my data. I can transfer the data to a new SATA drive and then install the new drive in the new computer without having to do anything else. Or I can install XP on the new computer first then do the transfer queue using the old IDE drive in a portable USB enclosure? or?
TKS
John
Sort that works is great.
If you use the USB case, make sure that it can provide enough power to the drive. Usually this isn't a problem if the old drive was a laptop computer but can be a problem if it was a desktop drive.
Assuming that your old computer still works, the easiest is to put all the files you want to transfer to a folder, and then share this folder on the network. Connect both computers to your home network, then simply attach to the shared folder on the network from the other computer and drag and drop your files to your new computer.

Cannot open my catalog after transfer to the new computer
I use 7 components on the computer that is running Windows XP. At about 5000 photos in my catalogue - all the tag and captioned.
Am in the process of moving to the new computer with Windows 7, 64-bit version. Used original disc to load Elements 7 on the new machine and organizing elements opens OK, but with just a white Notepad - and all tags are missing.
I used Windows Easy Transfer to move all the files and settings to the new machine.
The catalog seems to have been transferred and help items > Information System shows that it is located in the - who he is, according to Windows Explorer.
C:\ProgrammeData\Adobe\Photoshop Elements\Catalogs\My catalog
But I could find no way to do items to connect to that file and open it like "My catalog" on the new machine. Would be catastrophic to see that I have to re tag and caption all of these photos. Probably impossible.
Have tried all the options in the drop down for the catalog file.
Have had different opinions on Elements 7 can be used with Windows 7 64 bit - some say it's OK, others say not. If it is open as it did in XP - just does not detect the catalog.
Any ideas please?
OK, so you move the catalog.pse7db to the new computer, as well as anything else that seems to be linked to this folder (for example the subfolders).
Put it all on the new computer somewhere (any, any). If your photos are in the exact same on the new computer as they were on the old computer, you are finished. Just double-click on the file catalog.pse7db. If your photos are not in the same EXACT spot on the new computer, they were on the old computer, then use Windows to move them to this location.

Image portable HARD drive for transfer to the new computer portable HARD drive on the same laptop
Location:
Laptop was to receive the new HARD drive more big;
Configuration is complex and has a lot of data and SW engineering.
Own re - install would take too long.
In operating systems earlier I just created an image, installed the new HARD disk and restored the image.
In Vista, it does not. New HARD drive with image does not start. (Partition is correctly selected as active)
Tried other methods, including Robocopy but without success.
Sysprep is the right solution? If so, how will this affect users profiles and installed applications?
Thank you
Paraxis
Hi Paraxis,
Whenever we use the system image and restore from it, the hardware must be same, as has already been made to backup. The hard disk partition should also be in the same size.
You can use Sysprep on your computer and check if that helps you solve the problem.
Preparation system (Sysprep) tool is a technology that you can use with other deployment tools to install Windows on new hardware, operating systems. The Sysprep tool prepares a computer for imaging of disc or delivery to a customer of the configuration of the computer to create a new computer security identifier (SID) when the computer is restarted. In addition, the Sysprep tool cleans up user-specific and settings specific to the computer and the data that should not be copied to a destination computer.
Access the links below for more information on Sysprep.

Updated Windows and transfer to the new computer with a new installation
Hi I have an office of aging that I plan on upgrading within 12-15 months. I am currently under W7 and want to upgrade to 8.1. When I finally buy my new material under a BONE, me will be possible to transfer 8.1 overall with a full installation and not an image copied from my current position?
Thanks for the tips
To clarify my last sentence: If you buy Windows 8.1 full and use it to upgrade your old machine (Win 7), later when you buy your new computer and install 8.1, you will need to remove the old computer (it can only be activated on a PC at the same time). So if you were to sell your old computer, legally you have to withdraw Windows 8.1.

PS11 to transfer to the new computer
I bought ps11 on a disc to download on my old computer. My new computer only has not a CD player, how can I transfer my program?
1. use a computer with usb port and disk drive and copy the installation from usb drive files. use the USB with your new computer.
or
2. If you follow the 7 steps you can dl a free trial here: http://prodesigntools.com/photoshop-elements-11-direct-download-links-pse-premiere-pre.htm l
and activate it with your serial number.
If you have a problem dl'g, you don't follow all 7 steps. the most common mistake is not meticulously follow the steps 1, 2, and/or 3 (which adds a cookie to your system, allowing you to download the correct version of the adobe.com site).

Transfer to the new computer preferences
Hello!
I did a very large number of changes in the preferences of DreamWeaver 8, including dozens of changes to colors in Code Coloring. I also have many customizations available to the workspace, including positioning and rename the group, change the panels is grouped in Panel groups, given edit toolbars are visible and where they are.
I now need to place these changes to the computers most at least 2 or 3, on which I am about to install DW 8.
To recreate all these configuration changes would take me at least 3 hours per computer. Is it possible to transfer the massive fr settings?
I read the other similar question in this forum, but this message referred to in the site settings, which is the only thing I don't want!
Thanks in advance for any help.
