  Hello world.

  I went through the CSC - SSM product data sheet at http://www.cisco.com/en/US/prod/collateral/vpndevc/ps6032/ps6094/ps6120/ps6823/product_data_sheet0900aecd80402e4f.html.

  In the license product he sai CSC - SSM 20 supports max 1000 users. What does that mean?  This means that I can't use CSC - SSM when the number of users is more than 1000?  If I'm not correct, what is the maximum number of users I can get behind CSC - SSM 20 so that it works efficintly when all features are enabled?

  Hi Deepak,

  The numbers that you're talking about in the data sheet are a number of IP addresses of the single user inspected by the module. This account is a cumulative over a period of 24 hours. If the license is exceeded, the administrator will be sent an email once per day to inform them of this.

  You can't get the license number.
  First the sticker on the bottom of the unit has been a serial OEM key. This key cannot be used and would not work under Win XP installed system costs.

  Good day and welcome to the community.

  If your machine came with Windows 8/8.1, factory-installed, the license key is embedded in the UEFI/BIOS. As long as you install the same version (Home to home;) or Pro for Pro, the installation process should automatically pick the key.

  They probably told you the OEM SLP key which is public knowledge. Your windows is probably preinstalled, so would the OEM KEY of SLP. An OEM SLP key is common to all the models of computers from a manufacturer and varies only by the windows edition.

  Computers, which are built by large manufacturers provided with pre-installed Windows are supplied with 2 two product keys:

  (A) OEM SLP: this key comes pre-installed in Windows, when it comes to the factory. This key is designed to work with the special instructions isn't on the hardware of this manufacturer. Then, when Windows was installed using the OEM SLP (in factory) Windows 7 key leans on the motherboard and he sees special instructions and activates. (that's why you had no need to turn on your computer after you brought it home)

  (B) SLP COA: it's the product key that you see on the sticker on the side (or at the bottom, [or in the battery compartment]) of your computer. It is a valid product key, but must be used only in certain situations (for example, if the OEM SLP key stops automatic activation for a reason any). The key must be activated by phone.   There is no specific memory requirements for the installation of module on ASA CSC, CSC does not use the memory of ASA, the only thing he uses is the bottom of basket ASA, so the ASA can redirect internet traffic to CSC management ip for filtering. CSC has its own memory and CPU it uses.

  For the second question, if trhe users behind a proxy then definitely the SCC would see demand originating from a single IP address, so you would not be able to filter the traffic at the granular level.

  Well since the CSC SSM inspects only SMTP, POP3, HTTP, FTP traffic, there is no way to block https using the CSC SSM.
