License of Microsoft XP Professional OEM supplied with sticker pasted on the OEM machine

Hello

I have a question about the legitimate use of the Microsoft XP Professional OEM license with the sticker stuck on HP machines. A few months back, I bought a few these old desktops from a local supplier. These machines have Microsoft XP Professional sticker pasted on the body of office (the label also mentions that the license must be sold separately). I also formatted the machines and installed XP Professional on the machines once more and activated the XP online button glued on the desktop.

My dealer told me that these are the OEM licenses and they will so that the Office on which they were installed. If the office is sold to anyone, it is legitimate to the buyer to use the Windows XP operating system on this office legally. I want a reconfirmation on it. Can someone please advise?

Thanks in advance.

Hi Nathalie,.

If the PC is sold on the copy of Windows can go with it. (With an OEM license simply means that one) the permit is cheaper than a retail license and b) the licensed software cannot be installed on the original machine. In other words, you cannot use the Windows XP CD, you have to install another copy of Windows on another machine. It should always be installed on the first machine on which you installed.

While versions of the software 'detail' are more expensive, the buyer is not limited, as would be an OEM. For example, with a copy to the detail, you can install on a machine, then after a few years, this machine of the scrap and re - install copy of Windows on a new machine. An OEM copy you can only install on the first PC. If that PC is finally abandoned the software license dies with him.

  • Can I build a HA cluster with no heartbeat of the virtual machine?

    Hello

I have some virtual firewall on two ESX hosts.

The firewall running Unix and is not (for the moment) possible for me to install vmware tools.

Is it possible to create an HA cluster where virtual machines are booted up on another host in the case of a failure of the host?

    Best regards

    Martin

VMware Tools are only needed if you want to use the control of Virtual Machine in addition to the default host of HA monitoring. For host analysis only (i.e. the computer restarts virtual in the event of a host failure) there is no requirement for VMware Tools.

  • How to clean install Windows 7 on an OEM machine?

Original title: Simple 'yes' or 'no '.

I'm looking for a fresh install of win7. I did it with success in the past on the E Machines. I am currently working on a HP. There are several HP titled programs that settled when it was purchased. I'm sure they are for the most part of diagnostic tools. I would make my setup without them, but it is not done with a RESUME. I don't really need them, I do?

To restore the software preinstalled on the computer, or to install disks:

Contact the OEM computer manufacturer and ask them to send you an installation to your computer disk - they may charge a small fee. Contact information for the manufacturer of your computer can be found here:

  • Replacement 7 HP (OEM) Windows 7 Professional (OEM) in my first build and want to reinstall Windows 7 HP in new construction. I will be able to activate it?

I know that usually an OEM will activate not in another computer, but surely there would be some kind of exception in this particular case.  I will definitely buy another Windows 7 software to accommodate a second generation, but I want it to be a professional OEM.  Then, I would remove the HP 7 which is in my primary building and replace it with the professional 7.  I would setup when the second generation using the disc for HP 7.  Prior to this game plan and 7 professionals buying, I would like to be sure that I can activate successfully relocated 7 HP.

This will not work because of licensing restrictions.

The OEM of Windows 7 versions are identical to the versions commercial full license with the following exception:

-OEM versions don't offer any free direct support from Microsoft technical support Microsoft

-OEM Licenses are tied to the computer first you install and activate it on

-OEM versions allow all hardware upgrades except for an upgrade to a different model motherboard

-OEM versions does not move directly from an older Windows operating system

You need a full commercial version.

So, I was just digging through a pile of junk today, and found Windows 7 Professional 64-bit with a product key stuck to it. It was an OEM kit (for some reason) and I wanted to see if it had been used. Is there a program to see if it is valid without installing it? Because I don't want to lose activation on this just check to see if it will work. Help is very appreciated. (I don't want to use a phone, if that's possible! I hate using the phone... xD)

If its opening, its likely has been used. Once you break the seal for an OEM System Builder kit, you are bound to the license agreement.

  • Microsoft Office Professional 2010

Microsoft Office Professional 2010 is corrupt. When I chose the icon nothing happens and all other commands and programs frozen.  I tried 'repair' Microsoft Office Professional 2010 with the feature programs and features in Control Panel, but it does not work.

I guess I need to reinstall but Microsoft Office 2010 professional don't know how to do that.  Can someone help me?

    Thank you

If you are going to try to get the key, you do not want to delete the version existing - at least not until you have extracted key information.

If you just install the download, in other words, you have your license key, I think that the installation of the download will guide you.

Most installation packages have the ability to detect existing software; Once the software is detected, the current program will be either deleted, ignored, or, where appropriate, will remind you to remove the existing program before proceeding with the new installation.

  • Can I install my Microsoft Office Professional Edition 2003 that I used on a new computer that I will be buying?

I have Microsof Office Professional Edition 2003 that I used on my computer.  I want to get a new computer and I was wondering if I can install it on my new computer.  I have the disks to install, with a product key on the back of the package.  Is it safe to use on the new computer since it's always my computer?  In addition, this version is compatible with Windows 7?  (I used it on Windows XP).  Thank you!

    Hi DorisDowd,

It seems that you have a retail copy of Microsoft Office Professional 2003. According to the license terms, it can be installed on a primary device and a portable device at a time.
    You can look here: http://www.microsoft.com/About/Legal/EN/US/IntellectualProperty/UseTerms/Default.aspx

So yes, you can still use it on a new computer if you do not buy one. It is also certainly compatible with Windows 7. Visit the Compatibility Center Windows 7 here:

    http://www.Microsoft.com/Windows/compatibility/Windows-7/en-us/search.aspx?l=en-us&type=software&s=Office%202003&page=2&OS=32-bit

    I hope this helps.

  • I installed Vista in a Virtualbox VM and the product key does not work, how to fix this? I use the same product key supplied with the computer originally.

I bought a Dell Precision T3400 of Dell Financial Services and it came with Vista Business installed.  I installed a new hard drive and installed Vista in a Virtualbox VM by using the recovery disk that came with the computer, and the product key does not work for activation.  I get a message that says I need to activate Windows, but he says that the product key is not valid.  How can I fix it?

    Thank you

If you have reinstalled the OEM of Vista Business copy on the new hard drive, as Bill says you can't also use it in a virtual machine.

You can only reuse your OEM of Vista professional copy if it is no longer used on the computer. Do you have what operating system installed on the new hard drive? It was an upgrade copy or complete the license?

If you used a license to upgrade to another edition of Windows to replace your copy of company then Vista Business license is still in use (for upgrade) and you cannot reuse it in your virtual machine.

However if you replaced Vista business with a copy of the full license of another edition then you are able to use the OEM copy in a virtual machine, but only on the same computer. You must use the product key from COA to the label on the computer. The product key is put in the copy OEM cannot find the SLIC table on the host motherboard. You must use the phone activation from within the virtual machine. Click on start in Vista Business and typing "slui 4. Do not meet the audio guests until it asks you if you want to speak to an agent. Explain that you have completely replaced the OEM copy with a copy of the full license of the new windows and now want to use the OEM copy in a virtual machine on the same computer. Agent will then give you the activation string. Remember that the virtual machine is not transferable to any other computer.
