Life (in years) of ink

What is the life (in years) of the ink to the printer which is closed in the original packaging, for example the 932XL for printer "premium printer HP OfficeJet 6700"

The 932 cartrdiges usually have a warranty of two years.  Some HP printers apply 'expiry' of supplies to avoid damaging the printer so old thickened ink is used, but the 6700 Officejet does not.

Cartridges have a life, but I have used cartridges a decade in my Designjet 650 c. Cartridges can lose steam over time, even through the packaging.  It's especially a problem if the environment is warm and dry particurlarily.  If I had to store the cartridges for the years I put then in a bag of "sandwich" of zipper in the package and place them in the refrigerator (not the freezer).  Take them out a day before you need and let return to room temperature before installing them in the printer.

  • HP 78 & 45: what does the # Option 140 on cartridges?

    Hello

Hope someone can help me with this... I recently bought a few tricolor HP 78 ink cartridges and 45 HP of America. They have the same cartridge printers UK but # 140 Option numbers after the number of cartridge in the box! They can still be used in printers UK?

If the U.S. cartridge number is the same as the printers UK will they work in the United Kingdom?

    Thank you very much.

The option is in the target market. HP 78 and 45 cartridges are not regionalized, 78 and 45 American cartridges will work in the United Kingdom or elsewhere.  The difference is in the packaging and inserts it.

One thing to check would be the guarantee date.  While the cartridges do not expire in the sense that they will stop work on a certain date they have a life.  The warranty on the packaging date is two years from the date of manufacture.  For the cartridge to 78, according to the conditions of storage, the cartridges can lose one or more colors (typically cyan or yellow) after a few years.  If buying on eBay or similar cartridges I suggest being aware of the expiry date of guarantee and offers accordingly.  Cartridges five years beyond the date of guarantee are likely to have a color out.  It may be possible to recover these with a soaking from head of printing or other methods, but some violin may be required.  45 cartridges are less vulnerable to life, ten years old I used 45 cartrdiges without problems.

  • SOGo connector for Thunderbird

    Hi all

First of all, I hope that this question was not asked again; I'm sorry if this is the case.

In fact, after Zindus reached its end of life a year ago, I'm looking for a new way to sync my contacts, managed by Zimbra with Thunderbird.
In this context, I would like to know what the community Thunderbird SOGo connector for TB (http://www.sogo.nu/fr/downloads/frontends.html). In particular, why is this add-on not installable via interface of Thunderbird?

Thank you very much in advance for your help,.

    See you soon,.

Safety is always a difficult question to answer. Certainly the stuff to Add - ons.mozilla.org (AMO) go through a process of code by the moderators control it. But source code is everywhere and the review is effective to the person conducting the review the day. SOGO is an established project open source, so if security is really something to worry about, you can always hire someone to browse the source code. That's what AMO. On a personal note I don't have a lot of concerns about the safety of SOGO simply because it is open source, the code can be examined and it would be a brave project hat would mess in their own nest with malware etc in their package.

However, the connector is only a part of the package of SoGo, a tool to connect to their server of groupware software. A live demo which can be accessed here http://www.sogo.nu/tour/online_demo.html the fact, that it can be used for other things is really just a bonus for the community as a by-product of them use standards based protocols.

On a practical level several antivirus editors insert anti-solutions modules Thunderbird when you install packages. Here's what your informal appeal as well (they are not on AMO). Given that many of them intercept and decode encrypted SSL communications, I'd be more concerned that they have a backdoor to three letter agencies and I would be on the sogo connector. My trust in the internet privacy died a long time ago! but I still trust free unless there is some reason not, simply because the source code is available.

  • Re: Satellite P100-286 - I need a new battery

I think my battery on my P100-286 is at the end of his life (2 years) and must be replaced, but there are 2 types of battery that can use my laptop.
    PA3479U-1BRS-4400mAH or PA3480U-1BRS-6000mAH.

Can someone explain the difference between them except the price?

I agree with Flimovic. Battery with 6000mAH.is better because it has a larger capacity.
And you can no longer run on battery.

If it's the Photosmart 1000, which uses the cartrdiges 45 # and #78 (introduced in 1998 about...) the driver Deskjet 970 should provide a good match for printing.  Go to the printers, add printer folder, and then select the Deskjet 970.

  • Windows Setup has not finished.

    Hello

I reinstall Windows XP on a Dell Dimension 4500 with a Dell Windows XP Pro SP3 recovery disk. I followed all the steps to reinstall. I deleted the old partition and installed chose NTFS quick format. The installation went fairly smooth until I got the Windows Setup screens. It had an error message saying that it could not install some files but installation suite. Then I got an error saying that it could not connect to the internet. After that, everything went find until it restarts. He was about to read the Windows XP welcome video until it froze. All that appeared was a white screen with the Windows logo in the upper left corner with an 'X' on it. So I let it sit for about 45 minutes, and then I turned off the computer and deleted from the drive. From the beginning it upward, I found that it created an administrator account and it lacks many things. Also, I can't connect to the internet.  Here is a list of what is missing:

    • Photos from account.
    • A few wallpapers (Bliss, Azul and all others on the theme nature wallpapers)
    • The internet connection wizard.
    • Windows Media Player
    • Outlook Express
    • Help & support
    • Start menu customization options.
    • Remote assistance.

Most of the drivers installed except a few including Ethernet controller.

What hurts? and how to fix it? Here are a few screenshots that might help.

It is an old system (with an old optical drive) and Windows XP has reached end of life 1 year ago, his insecurity and preferable to use only not etc etc. Assuming that you know this and to install Windows XP in any case.

The first problem you have is the optical drive cannot read all the files on the CD and it ignores certain files, probably the laser in the struggles of optical drive with files from certain angles. If you have a newer PC with an optical drive to best, install ImgBurn (make sure that you opt for a facility advanced opting to not install any unwanted preloaded toolbars...). Create a .iso CD image, and then use ImgBurn to burn this .iso to more than 3 CD image. When the installation files cannot be read on the CD instead of exchange for one of the copies to jump. The file will be in a different location on the CD and it will be able to copy the file.

The second question is you have devices connected to the system which may interfere with the installation of Windows. Its better to attach only keyboard, mouse and monitor. You had a brother printer attached...

The third point is that you have not installed all the system drivers... I recommend that you use the old version of WSUS offline update to download all the updates of Windows XP (on a new work computer from a USB flash drive) before you install the drivers for your system:

    http://dellwindowsreinstallationguide.com/WSUS-offline-update/obtaining-the-latest-service-packsbuilds-of-Internet-Explorer/patching-Windows-XP-fully-using-the-WSUS-offline-update/

You can then download the system from the Dell FTP site drivers drivers and downloads may not work for an XP machine (on a new work computer from a USB flash drive):

    http://downloads.Dell.com/published/pages/dimension-4500.html

You will need to install the drivers in the order, which is particularly critical for Windows XP works correctly:

  • 6500 has more with error 0xc19a003e

Out of the blue, our 6500 has more reported an ink system error, code 0xc19a003e.  Printer is about 1.5 years old; ink cartridges themselves are fairly recent.

I tried the different cycling stages powers and have even tried to put it in a new print head, but nothing helped.

Does anyone have a suggestion about how to fix this?  Hoping that I am now left with a very big (and expensive) scanner.

OK, got it solved.  Basically, he had served three days unplugged from the wall.  I plugged it back to attempt a repair more, and he returned to the top without problem.

So, if the "unplug both ends of the power cord for 30 seconds" does not work, can unplug it for a day or more and see.

  • For photosmart 5510 power management

My photosmart printer 5510 is set up wireless, so when the power is cut, he's not waking up with wireless LAN or WAN (eprint) print jobs. Having to walk through the House to turn it on when I want to print a few ipad from my couch sort of defeats the purpose of a wireless installation. Is it okay to leave the power on for long periods of time or it will decrease the life expectancy of the ink or printer?

    Hello

If the device is turned off, any work do not wake the product, is any product how HP is designed.

The device provides features of supposed to save energy and the printer mode to stay on on a regular basis.

Not only computing will not decrease life ink cartridge, it will increase the life of ink suring printer preparation steps.

As you can find listed in the user manual, the product that is supposed to be under tension when you use the wireless connection:

TIP: If you are printing through a wireless or Ethernet connection over a network, Auto Power-Off should be disabled to ensure that print jobs do not get lost. Even when Auto Power-Off is disabled, the printer enters a Sleep mode after five minutes of inactivity to help reduce energy use.(http://h10032.www1.hp.com/ctg/Manual/c02983578.pdf)

  • ASA 5520 VPN licenses

    Community support,

I want to run this question by you guys to avoid the sales of our partner CISCO and similar pitch more to the best solution that would give us what we want.

We currently have a VPN from CISCO 3020 hub to terminate the Lan-to-Lan tunnels and have our mobile workers to connect through the client VPN CISCO (300 users-employees and contractors).

Given that this device is coming to an end of LIFE this year, we bought a CISCO 5520 (here is the current licenses in this topic)

Licensing seems quite complicated, so here's my question:

-What VPN do you recommend for our users and entrepreneurs? I understand that the CISCO VPN client does not work with ASA 5500 Series devices

Is there a license needed to deploy a VPN solution for our remote users(employees/contractors)?

    Thank you

    John

Your understanding that the Cisco VPN client does not work with ASA is wrong. Maybe it's the version of Cisco VPN client that you use currently does not work with ASA. But these (and so not very new indeed) versions of VPN client work with the ASA. I installed for several clients who use the traditional IPSec VPN client with ASA ASAs and they work well.

You are right that the granting of licenses for the SAA is complicated. Your tunnels IPSec VPN site-to-site will work on the SAA and pose much challenge in terms of licenses. But there are problems and alternative solutions to consider for remote access VPN clients. At this point, there are two major variants: you can use the classic IPSec VPN client or you can use the new AnyConnect client. From a licensing perspective there is a Hugh difference between them. It is not special license that applies to the traditional IPSec client and they are just against your license for peers Total VPN (for which you have 750 in your license). For the AnyConect there is a condition of licence. There is a premium for AnyConnect license and there are licensed AnyConnect Essentials. The Essentials license price is much lower than the premium license, but Essentials does not all the features that made the premium.

In the immediate future, that it would sound like an easy question to answer, use the traditional IPSec VPN client for which theere is not a special permit and it is what you are used to. However Cisco has announced the dates of end of sale and end of Support for the traditional VPN client. If at some point you will need to use the AnyConnect client. I would say that if you make the change of the ASA that it might be a good choice to also adopt the AnyConnect client.

  • Reducing balance depreciation Methos

    Hello

I have an obligation to put in place a reducing balance method of depreciation.

    Asset life - 3 years

    From amortization of PNTS

    1 year - 50%

    Year 2 - 30%

    Year 3 - 20%

I put the type of method as Table and the basis of calculation than the PNT.

Then I put the rates as follows.

    My configuration is correct?

Periods of proportion is based on the calendar of prorated? It's okay?

    Thanks for the replies

Yes, using cost as the basis of calculation must be correct.

  • The design of potential - thoughts?

Looking at a updating of the material here and entertaining vSAN as part of the solution.

    Proposed solution:

Two sites. Will use SRM with vSphere replication and vSAN.

Consolidation to three ESXi hosts in the primary and secondary sites with Essentials more license kit. With the help of vSAN. The material is Dell R720xd servers filled with possible drive with disc magnets 12 24 bays to allow expansion. Either two or four of the 12 other bays on each host will fill with SSDs. Solution will build HA.

    Issues related to the:

Can you jump on a 10GbE switch and interconnect between hosts 10GbE adapters? X 520 or x devices using Intel 540, would double on them and connect the hosts to another directly instead of buy two switches 8-port 10 GbE by the environment for redundancy.

Whereas 12 x 600 internal GB 10K 2.5 "drives per host with SSDS additional 2-4 for the cache. What my useful capacity provides 1 failure to tolerate by VM?

Am I missing any consideration here with regard to interoperability, etc.?

    Thank you!

Cheap is always subjective depending on what is the budget and what you are to compare.   The set of features is compelling for its price range.

I wouldn't imagine you can ignore the switch with a host 3 VMware Virtual SAN environment, but I've seen other systems that work in a configuration of 2 host.

SynchroNet did a performance white paper switch VSAN - http://www.synchronet.com/blog/vsan-switch-performance-whitepaper/

The results show that you could get good performance with relatively modest network facilities.

VSAN requires SSDs, they are not optional.  Each disk group must have a minimum of 1 SSD and 1 HDD (up to 7 hard drives by group).  SSD is used to read the cache and writing to the buffer.

I would not use all records that were not on the VSAN from VMware HCL list. You want something with an endurance of write.  The recommendations are of life 5 years with 10 operations of writing per cell per day.

The discs of the series intel s3700 are fine for this.

I'm happy to help where I can.  If you really want to get a jump on things I recommend the book of Cormac and Duncan essential Virtual SAN (VSAN): Guide to VMware Virtual SAN administrator. There is also a hands on lab, you can play with over at VMware - Labs

  • Type to get the runaround from HP support...

Hi all, using a Deskjet 4160.  I bought several HP tricolor cartridge 93 end 2009 and have recently tried to use the other 2.  One seems to run out immediately, I thought that I must have miscounted printed pages, then I threw and installed the last of them.  I print almost the same items every week, and I've always had the same 'life' of a color ink cartridge.  The second cartridge lasted a little bit shorter than I expected, so I started searching the Internet to see what was wrong.  To my surprise, I found that there was a recall of this product and that for a while, HP offered a discount of $10 per carton to the victims of this defective product.  The refund was expired by the time wherever I found this info.  I then went to my last tricolor cartridge, a 95, who says the info online at HP is appropriate for this printer (I can send HP a pdf version of this info if they don't believe me).  My printer always tells me that it's incompatible.  Now this 95 has been put up for sale with two of 98 and I checked the "printer compatibility chart" at Costco before I bought it.   Technical support HP now told me that I have to send them all my "printer test page" for the 93, but beyond that, I don't know what they will do.   This Department said she even cannot answer me on the 95 and the tech person of course sent me 'providing' where I just wrote my inquiry on the 95.  So my question is for the 'real people' of HP who monitor these message boards: can you help me?  As you can see, I threw a LOT of money here.  Again, I have the HP info saying that the 95 will work.  I am frustrated in dealing with technical support and am about to write to Consumer Reports, Epinions, as well as any other online forum "product review", I can find.  I got to the "95" question three different times before HP even told me I should go to another Department thanks!

After obtaining a certain skin of various people at HP (foreign people, I think) - I was finally contacted by a GREAT person in the Customer Service HP - one who has understood what I was explaining - and my problem is solved.

A Word to anyone using a Deskjet 4160: Although the user manual may indicate that a tricolor cartridge 95 is compatible with this printer, it is not.  I think that HP takes this info on its Web site.

    Thanks again.

  • Can I extend the life of my unopened for my deskjet 722C HP ink jet cartridges?

I use my 'old' printer HP deskjet 722C with a Windows 7 system.  I'm afraid that HP can stop making the cartridges for this printer because it is old (I bought it in 1999).  It still works perfectly & I would like to continue to use it until the support for Windows 7 ends in 2020.

Is there an expiration on HP cartridges for this printer?  If so, is it possible I can extend shelf life in the way that I store them?

Because without opening it (still in packaging) cartridges then I suggest somewhere cool and dry, rather than in the fridge. 8 years is long if, then, of course, there is no guarantee on what condition the ink would be at that time. As they say, nothing lasts forever! (sounds like a song title

I would say just to buy on an as need basis. They should still be available for purchase for some time that there is still a lot of people out there with compatible printers.

BTW, there is a link below with the specifications for the cartridge HP45 (has any info on maintenance & storage)

  • Experiences over seven years with the battery life in laptop computers Tecra

Seven years ago, I bought a Tecra 780DVD, five years ago a Tecra 8100 and two years ago a Tecra S1. They re all still in regular use and I ve used now six packs of lithium ion batteries. My experience suggests that these four guidelines are worth observing:

    1. it is preferable to the hibernation and remove the battery if the laptop will be inactive for more than 2 or 3 days.
2 operating time vary a lot between the samples of battery even with the same operating conditions.
3 leave the charger plugged in with the full light on doesn't seem to hurt (despite some of the recommendations).
    4. better is not the first time, that it is unable to charge the battery of junk. The trick described below may reset the battery and get more useful life out of it.

Tecras see the end of battery life by battery light flashes orange or stay off when you try to reload. Last week when I returned from vacation what happened the 780 (now the WiFi print server) and I felt like déjà vu because all 4 batteries (three on the 780) and the other on the 8100 that I ve had previously fail expired the same way they failed to charge after 7 to 14 days of hibernation with the battery left in. In my view, that it can hardly be a coincidence.

I still had another 780 old farm and an old battery for 8100 that both failed about two years ago I did some tests. The batteries two 780 showed 10-11 volts on a voltmeter, but when I put them in the laptop and plugged in the charger, the led load always flashed. However, when I plugged the laptop battery already started the grid only, the hanging lamp orange and after an hour or two went green.

I think this shock treatment can have done in battery electronics forget they were supposed to be dead. Anyway, I did with all three batteries and then ran to see how long d last. The results were:

    (1) the 780 battery failed last week (after 36 months used) can now run the laptop for an hour.
    (2) the 8100 battery (with the active service of 16 months, but 'believed dead' for two years) will now run for 10 minutes or more.
    (3) the 780 battery believed dead for two years (after 19 months used) appears to load but t does not work the laptop. Half of the battery ended up hot and half cold, so now I guess that it s really dead.

Hoping others will compare notes, I've summarized below how long my battery packs lasted before they refused to pay more.

    Tecra780DVD:
Original battery: 30 months (discarded too soon. Might have gotten more if I had tried to trick reset).
First replacement: 19 months (stored for two years, after which reset didn't work).
Second alternative: 36 months (after reset now works for an hour).

    Tecra 8100:
Original battery: 16 months (stored for 2 years. After reset now lasts 10 minutes).
First replacement: 41 months and always well run.

    Tecra S1:
Original battery: 29 months and always well run.

All are genuine Toshiba and operating conditions are quite similar for all. Laptops tend to run 4-8 hours per day with the charger plugged and maybe half an hour on battery only. Sometimes we forget and the charger remains connected all night.

I m now wish I d tried the trick of reset on all batteries as soon as they failed, but at least I seem to have rescued two batteries. Even a moment of execution as short as 10 min is useful on a laptop that s especially power sector. It protects against power failure and you can keep your battery in the fridge until you need it for a trip.
