My XP machine crashed. PalmOne LifeDrive installation on this Windows 8 new machine he wiil HotSync not someone can give me some advice please?

Bruce,

Yes. Palm Desktop is the program you HotSync Palm PDA to.

You install from the CD that comes with a Palm PDA or download it online

I've never used a palmOne LifeDrive, I think it comes with PD version 4.1.4

If you decide to use the PD6.2 it is a free download

  • I need help with codecs and Wiindows Movie Maker!

The hard drive of my computer broke and I had to take it to the shop. They managed to save my unfinished videos in Windows Movie Maker, but when I try to upload to Windows Movie Maker it says that it cannot. I was wondering if anyone knew what it meant, or if I can do something else to finish the video.

Apparently you do not see the app in the file but
It must be a project .mswmm file if it starts Movie Maker.

If Movie Maker will not open the file it is likely
corrupted. Not only that, but if the technology service reinstalled
Windows... your source for project Movie Maker files (pictures,
video clips, music files) are probably also missing.

To display the file format (extension) of your files...
Reach... Control Panel / folder Options / View tab.
... To check "Show the hidden files and folders" / apply / OK.

Have you tried to create a new project just to make sure that the
    Movie Maker still works?

  • Problem with Lifedrive Manager on a Machine MS Vista

I used my Lifedrive for a long time since a MS Windows XP Home Office successfully.  This summer, I got a new laptop which has Windows Vista Home Premium.  I am able to use the Palm Desktop software and hotsync for the XP desktop and laptop of Vista.  I am, however, problems with Lifedrive Manager.  Whenever I start the laptop, I get a message that the machine could not initialize "PalmOneRemoteLibrary."  I ignored the message because I could do everything I needed up to today.  When I tried to start the LifeDrive Manager (impetus provided by a message that asked that I install my photos using LifeDrive Manager), I got the PalmOneRemoteLibrary error message.

I realize that this machine can be a relic, but I really like it, and I did a lot of use of it.  My LifeDrive machine runs Palm OS Garnet 5.4.8.  I recently put a mass of images on the internal drive using 'Training Mode'.

Am I correct the LifeDrive Manager is inevitably incompatible with Windows Vista, and which is the source of my problem?  Any difficulty that I could try?  Any other ideas?

Hello blue8star and welcome to the forums of Palm.

The LifeDrive Manager application, unfortunately, is not compatible with Windows Vista.  Palm said they aren't going to release a update for the abandoned PDA.  (By the way, I have a palmOne LifeDrive and always use it often.)

To load on the LifeDrive bulk data, you have the right idea, use the Drive Mode.

  • Usable for Lifedrive mobile phones?

I got a palmOne Lifedrive and sometimes only Mobile phone net is availlible for the Internet.

Only the listed old phones work with my lifedrive?

OE also all modells with bluetooth?

Hello horst37, welcome to the Palm support community.

Best hopes to connect to a cell phone lie with those that use network (those who have a SIM card in there).

There is a company that sells drivers for more modern than those listed in the Palm phones.  You can try before you buy one of these:

  • LifeDrive won't reset or quick erase

After 3 years of perfect operation, my LifeDrive has started to freeze-up frequently; two or three times a day. A few days later it froze and started spontaneously, reset procedure without my press the reset button with the stylus, but it could not reset. Simply, it froze on the initial screen to reset and stayed there without any symptoms of progress until the device's battery is out. I tried to reset the device manually, more than once, without progress and variation in my results.

Then I pressed the power button while pressing the button Reset and selected the fading fast (up) option to reinstall everything and just get a clean start. Unfortunately, the unit freezes right on the screen white and gray fading fast without any progress. I even left connected to the charger so that the battery is not extinguished until the process can be completed. But even after leaving a few days ago, it still froze at the same place without symptoms of any progress.

The progress bar does not appear when I try to reset (mild, hot or hard). Only the screen logo of LifeDrive or erase quick screen without progress.

Is there a solution? Is there an economic solution? Or should I just accept my LifeDrive's dead and go out to buy an iPhone?

    Thanks for the quick response.

I did some research online myself and found not only documents, but a video that shows the LifeDrive performace side-by-side: MicroDrive CompactFlash vs. The CF has not only is more stable (not), but it is MUCH faster than the MicroDrive, and there is less of a supply to the battery line.

Here's the video. It helps if you speak Spanish, however: http://www.dailymotion.com/video/x1tfcn_pdacolombia-videocast-10

I'll go ahead and get a pre-formatted CF LifeDrive and myself put in place with a LifeFlash instead of a palmOne LifeDrive; see how Plug and play it really is.

    Once again, thank you.

    Thank you.

Fix your LifeDrive and update a 'LifeFlash '.

  • Wiindows problem 8 -:(votre pc tombé sur un problème et doit redémarrer.) We collect only some error information, and then we'll restart for you

I own "Lenovo Ideapad Z570-1024 AFU" model computer laptop, which came with windows 7 Home Premium. I've updated with "Windows 8 Pro.

I had a problem in my laptop and lenovo people changed my laptop motherboard. From there I'm not able to boot in Windows 8 OS and it is continuously restart saying: "your pc encountered a problem and needs to restart. We collect only some error information, and then we'll restart for you. "You can search internet error: WHEA_UNCORRECTABLE_ERROR.

I tried all recovery options and reset options proposed in the Windows 8 Pro DVD. I tried to install the new copy of windows 8, but still, I get the same error.

Now the hard drive is empty with no BONE in there. But yet when I try to install 'Windows 8 Pro' is a short walk, and after that start the same error mentioned above.

Is - this hardware problem? or incompatibility problem?

Please help me to get this resolved.

Thank you for your valuable time and information.

In my case, a hardware problem blocks the installation of any form of windows (windows 7 or windows 8). Yet once, I gave my laptop to the manufacturer to correct the hardware problem (motherboard problem). This time they say «it could be a CPU problem» I'm waiting to listen to their share of the final solution.

Once again thank you for your suggestion. Implement these if the people of Lenovo does not solve my problem.

    Kind regards

    Hello

You can download the Setup from the Microsoft page of WIindows disk:
    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/310994/

Then you could install the Microsoft recovery console that helps you use the commands * Fixmbr and Fixboot * to fix the Boot Manager:

I think this should help other rational use the Live like BartPe or WinPE disc to boot up the laptop.

  • LifeDrive power switch broken switch

Help.  My Lifedrive is 4 years old and has worked well for the old technology.  However, the power switch broke.  In other words, it slips easily rather than move the on/off switch and does not have the power or not.  The last position has been LOCKED.  So I can't enter the data.  A soft reset brings to the top of the screen, but the screen has half shaded numbers and does not recongize being touched or tapped.  There seems to be nothing that works.  A hard reset is not possible because the on/off switch does not work.  Most of my data is synced with my computer.  But I did an interview with oral history and voice Memos do not sync for palm desktop.  So my questions are: 1) does anyone know how to activate a locked Lifedrive with a broken switch for power on / off?  (2) someone knows how to retrieve voice memos to a unit in this condition? (3) does anyone know how to fix a switch broke on a palmOne Lifedrive?  Really hope someone can help.

This is what it looks like after removing the plastic shell.  The piezoelectric speaker is attached to the plastic shell.

Disconnect the battery from the motherboard.  I use a small Flathead screwdriver to separate the connectors softly.

    Remove the battery disconnected.

Write it now, numbers 1 to 4 on the pieces of blue plastic that supports the microdrive; in this way, you won't get lost as all back you together.

The microdrive is connected to the interface of CF. There is a sticker of warning placed on the lower part of the microdrive and interface see cut carefully through the sticker between the CF card and the microdrive with the tip of the knife.  Gently, remove the microdrive from the CF interface with a flat head screw metal or equivalent.

Now the microdrive (in my case, a memory of 32 GB compact flash) is half disconnected from the interface CF.  Continue, making sure not to damage the delicate pins.

    Congratulations!  Completely unplugged.

Remove the microdrive (or CF memory).

Disconnect the cable of the microphone of the motherboard in the same way you did to speaker wires.

Unplug the connector for cable film gently with a plastic or equivalent flat head screw.

You don't want to have cables delicate film cut by accident, so be careful.

Unplug the connector for a another movie cable gently with a plastic or equivalent flat head screw.

Remove the two very short torx screws.

Finally, the motherboard is thrown, and you can see what happened to the switch.

The central internal switch at the top of the motherboard has proved to be in the locked position.

One of the two legs of the plastic piece was found to be broken.  The other leg looked ok.

I slipped inside switch to the unlocked position manually.

Another picture of the internal switch.  If the internal switch turns out to be broken, refer to

http://1src.com/forums/printthread.php?t=121887 and order a new switch from Mouser Electronics, www.mouser.com
    Part number: 688-SSSS7A0101
    Manufacturer part number: SSSS7A0101
    DESC: SP3T W / BACK WINDOWS
    Switches slide ALPS SMD
    RoHS: compatible

I think that your internal switch is not broken.

Put the motherboard back such as the plastic piece can slide the internal switch to turn on or off position.  Be careful not to break the other leg healthy in this process!

Put everything back together carefully.  You start your Lifedrive, you will notice that the date and time are the default, put it so well.   Good luck to you!

  • Mouse Bluetooth and A2DP dropouts - made new BT 4.00.36 update fix?

    Hello

Got a Toshiba Tecra M4 with Toshiba BT 2.0 + EDR internal material and software. version 4.00.23. Any blutooth works very well... A2DP for helmet (anycom BSH100), joystick (IOGear-http://www.iogear.com/main.php?loc=product&Item=GME225B) bluetooth, Palm (LifeDrive for Sync, Biz Cards, etc.), Nokia 6255i (for dial-up and sync).

Only one problem... when using the BT mouse and listen to music through A2DP I get lots of drops in the sound stream... especially during the movement of the mouse.

With widcomm BT stack say due widcomm update the stack to make it work properly... http://www.howardforums.com/showpost.php?p=7233122&postcount=2

The latest version of battery 4.00.36 Toshiba BT fact bugs this problem... I don't want to go if I do not know his will help and it does not mention the description of liberation (http://aps.toshiba-tro.de/bluetooth/)

    Other thoughts and ideas...

Thought it might be something to do with a Wi - Fi connection... so tried cut of the wi - fi and which seems to help, just as moving further away from the gateway wi - fi... but I still have not a drop outs in the sound... but only when moving the mouse.

Note... Turn off the mouse while continuing to use the Wi - Fi while listening to audio via A2DP does very well... no drops.

Then... a few thoughts / questions:

Anyone who has any software that allows to analyze the use of bandwidth BT I can see if it's really my "chatty" mouse that hogging bandwidth and cause drops in the flow of the A2DP?

Also I was wondering if she had something to do with the BT radio in the laptop, having to change the basic shape (for A2DP) for slave (for mouse) quickly in order to serve these two BT connections (not sure have the right terminology)... anyone care to comment?

Then I thought... BT 2.0 is supposed to be better at various things at the level of the material... maybe if I had a BT2.0 mouse that could to 'behave' a little better... but I've not managed to track down a mouse BT 2.0.

All the ideas that made that one of these little critters (an oh yes... must recharge via USB... don't wear another brick of power with me).

    This will help my situation?

    Thank you

    Hello

I checked the site Web of Toshiba Bluetooth but I put t found any information on this topic or a similar question.
I think that it of not very easy to tell if the latest version of the Toshiba BT stack will solve this problem especially audio.
You suggested that, if the mouse is turned off from listening to audio via A2DP working properly.
Try contacting the manufacture of the mouse. Maybe he knows something about this issue with own products.
The second option is to create a system restore point before you start the update of the BT stack. Then, you can try to update the Toshiba BT stack. You can then check if there are a few drops in the sound.

    Good luck

  • How can we find persistent cookies stored on Vista and remove them?

I note that, although when I set my privacy settings to block cookies, some cookies still 'place' or persisted in previous sessions.

In Vista you cannot access the Documents & settings "junction", apparently because it is not a folder. I want to access all cookies on my computer and of course I want total control on whether to keep or delete.  There are laws - many sites (no adults) do not clear and open rules!

    (1) how to find all the cookies, including the hidden "Cookies\Low", and how can I remove them?

    (2) why Microsoft has ultimate management and control cookies so difficult for its customers under Vista? If the control has been designed to be transparent and intutitive, I thought now!

PS We customers deserve an answer that isn't gobbedlygook. I don't know how to use the location information such as:

    Directory Users\\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Wiindows\Cookies

    Directory Users\\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Wiindows\Cookies\Low

My apologies if I look irritated.

With thanks - I will be grateful if I can get such an important thing was finally resolved.

The easiest way is to use the free program CCleaner, http://www.filehippo.com/download_ccleaner/

This list cookies and delete them.

If you want to watch the AppData folders, you must show hidden files.

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows-Vista/Show-hidden-files

Still, you may be unable to delete the files from the Explorer because of additional security introduced in Vista to prevent websites to access the files on your computer.
