Lightroom and Olympus Tough TG-4. ORF files

Before upgrading my version of Lightroom, I want to confirm that I would need to.  I am currently using version 5.7 but recently bought an Olympus Tough TG-4 and cannot open the. ORF files.  Is there another way without a full upgrade?  Thank you.

Hi Tamas,

In case you do not want to buy the upgrade to Lightroom 6, you can download and install the DNG Converter 9.0 or higher.

Using the DNG Converter, you need convert the. The ORF DNG format files and then import them into Lightroom 5.7

Let me know if it helps.

Kind regards

Tanuj

  • Lightroom for Mac v5. Olympus Stylus 1. ORF for new files appearing does not in Lightroom & old. Files of the ORF in gray.

Lightroom for Mac v5.  I recently transferred my photos from a disc to another larger disk.  Since then, using the same catalog, I found the new location and all files seem to be OK, with the exception of my Olympus Stylus 1. ORF files.

Have several new records of Nikon NEF files as well as files of the ORF.  Files Nikon encountered no problem, but not the Olympus.  I have updates.  I tried to sync several times, but no luck.

I know that my Olympus is supported because he has worked since 2014.  The older files always contain the FRO files, but non of them are visible in Lightroom, they are just greyed out.  Any suggestions?

Files already imported into LR will be greyed out if you try to import them, once again.  To confirm that this is the issue, temporarily uncheck don't Import suspected duplicates to the right of the Import Panel and see if the pictures become active.  If so, then they are duplicates of photos already in the catalog also.  Since you moved just your photos to a new location perhaps some left me another place that is not obvious.  You should be able to do a text search in the filter bar (use------mentioned) in the library for the file name of the missing photos to find where LR always think that they are in your catalog.

DO NOT IMPORT THEM AGAIN with don't Import suspected duplicates off.  The way to fix things is to reactivate the import is not suspected duplicates, cancel import, find photos in your catalog by using a search text, right-click on it and choose locate missing photos and click on to the new location.

  • ORF files in Lightroom creative cloud

Hi, I just got me an Olympus EM - 5 MKii and Lightroom does not recognize this camera ORF files.

I got a guy from Adobe on the phone to me today, he started to tell me, there was a way to solve this, but he gave up while I never had the answer.

I've updated the CC desktop application, and also a Lightroom does to day. There now LR 5.7.1. I have learned from someone else that Version 6 supports these files, if so, how can I update to V ^ if the ap desktopp will show more updates.

    Thanks in advance.

Correct, you must at least LR6 / CC 2015: https://helpx.adobe.com/camera-raw/kb/camera-raw-plug-supported-cameras.html

  • I downloaded and installed the camera Raw 8.8 and ORF files that will always open in Lightroom 5.7.

I downloaded and installed the camera Raw 8.8 and ORF files that will always open in Lightroom 5.7.  The files were made using the new Olympus E - M5 II, who is on the list of supported devices.  When I run Lightroom and check the on the screen, it says it's Lightroom version 5.7, but Camera Raw 8.7 despite my having upgraded to 8.8.  I use a MacBook Pro with OS 10.7.5 Please advise on how to import and use ORF files in Lightroom.

The files were made using the new Olympus E - M5 II, who is on the list of supported devices.

Yes, this camera is supported by Camera Raw 8.8.

Camera Raw plugin | Supported devices

However, the required 'Version of Lightroom Minimum' column is empty. Lightroom does not yet support it.

Like the so-called Warunicorn, Lightroom does not use the Camera Raw using Photoshop plugin. It uses its own Raw conversion engine so you have to wait for an update of Lightroom separate for this camera edit Raw files in Lightroom. Or use the DNG Converter and work with the DNG in Lightroom.

    Hello

I recently bought an Olympus OM - D E - M5 Mark II and apparently the 5.7 Lightroom I have does not support these files. I'm looking for a plugin or a confirmation that Lightroom 6 and/or Lightroom CC will support files. I would prefer not having to convert to DNG.

Thank you much for the help.

    Hi Mbmartin,

Yes, Lightroom 6 will support files to the camera you have.

Please see the list of the supported camera by the Lightroom version: supported by Adobe Camera Raw devices

  • Error with render or display? Olympus e - m10 mkii raw/orf files

This is the first time I'm getting Olympus RAW files (and 6 Lightroom), but I can't get it quite right.

    Any help/ideas would be appreciated:

After you import the Olympus e - m10 mkII .orf in dng files, previews seems to be OK.

but in mode development colors appear fake and change(!) panoramic function. Check the screenshots below with photos of LSD-iefied ;-).

    Configuration:

Trial release version, Camera Raw 9.4, Lightroom CC 2015.4;  8.0 Windows (I also have Lightroom 5.7 permanent version installed on the same PC)

Go to Preferences, click the performance tab, and then uncheck the box.

The list of supported devices is here

You will need to switch to Lightroom 6, i.e. when support has been added for your camera or d/load the free DNG Converter and convert to DNG format that will allow to import 5 Lightroom.

  • Remove. ORF files from lightroom is a problem

    Hello

I'm trying on lightroom, and I have a problem: when I downloaded pictures of Olympus Viewer 3 and wanted to delete them, I got a message saying that I could not remove the file from the disk... So, that means that each image that needs a more thorough assessment on a larger relative to the camera screen can not be deleted, unless by going into my files, their opening at the top and removing one by one (after opening them in a program because the files cannot be seen immediately...), which is a huge detour?  I'm not talking a few pictures here, but hundreds... Oh, and I'm on a mac Lion 10.7.5

    I don't think so. It's always just a file.

There may be problems with external drives sometimes with trash problems. Usually they are solved by removing the. Files of cops, a hidden file in the root of the external drive. Say that the drive was called external, then write Terminal

    sudo rm/Volumes/External /. Trashes

Enter your password if requested. Replace externally by the name of the drive.

I think that deleting something in the Finder on the disk and empty the trash can solve it, maybe easier.

  • Keep the dng or CR2 files when switching from Lightroom and Photoshop.

From Lightroom and Photoshop, how can I keep the dng or CR2 files. Now it changes the psd and when I return to Lightroom it removes options in the section of Calibration of the camera, so that while I have a choice (Adobe Standard/camera faithful), after returning from Photoshop file I have "Embedded." How can I keep the dng or CR2 files

Adding to the good advice of Alfred - a raw file cannot be registered as the other files.

Its only use is the basis for the creation of new files, which must be regular files, such as tiff, psd or jpg.

When you edit a raw file in Lightroom, it does not change the file, the changes are written to the catalog.

Optionally, save the changes in the form of metadata (xmp) sidecar files, or in the case of DNG in the file itself.

  • Why don't CC with Lightroom and Photoshop CC open my D7200 Nikon raw files?

I just subscribe to creative cloud (photography) because the listed site support raw Nikon D7200 for versions CC with Lightroom and Photoshop files.

But after their installation, they will not open the NEF files.

I downloaded and installed the latest version of Camera Raw, but I can not always open the raw files.

    Frank

OK, I just discover another discussion that my problem was caused by Nikon Transfer.

I had been using the version of Nikon Transfer, I had with my previous camera, which apparently corrupts a D7200 Nikon raw files.

I have transferred my images (using Lightroom) and NEF files open fine in Lightroom and Photoshop.

    Thank you

  • Should I get rid of old files from Lightroom and start again?

I messed up download in Lightroom and about half of my photos and files "is not found."  While Lightroom has been deleted when my PC was repaired, so my I just downloaded again.  I want to download correctly this time. No pictures is currently in Lightroom.

I have the following locations of photo on my PC: my images, external hard drive (ED) 1 and (ED) 2.  All have bits of catalogues Lightroom etc (not the photo files can I open) on them.  I have a plan and want to know if it will work.

I'll make all my photos on ED1 outside of Lightroom.  I'll remove Lightroom from my computer AND delete the "bits" containing photos of all three locations.

I can download Lightroom again and download my pictures inside of ED1.  This way Lightroom will know where they are.

My plan will subsequently be to download all photos of ED 1.  (How can I configure this?)   I want to set up Lightroom to backup to ED2. (How do I do this?)

I would appreciate help as my previous attempts to solve the problem just make it worse!

I'll make all my photos on ED1 outside of Lightroom.

I assume that you know how to do it

I'll remove Lightroom from my computer AND delete the "bits" containing photos of all three locations. I then download Lightroom again

Completely useless. Open Lightroom, select file-> new catalogue and you will have an empty empty catalog to use. You must then import the ED1 photos using the Add option (MOVE or COPY, as appropriate)

My plan will subsequently be to download all photos of ED 1.

I guess you means importation and not download. In the import dialog box, select the option COPY and then under Destination (on the right side), you select the appropriate folder to import into on ED1.

I want to set up Lightroom to backup to ED2. (How do I do this?)

You can use the third-party backup software to achieve for the photos. You can use Lightroom itself to make backups of the catalog file (it is under the catalog settings).

Alternatively, you can tell Lightroom to make copies of your photos to ED2 to import, as explained here: https://helpx.adobe.com/lightroom/help/photo-video-import-options.html#back_up_photos_duri ng_import if you do this, you will still need to make regular backups of your catalog (via the option in the catalog settings) file

  • Lightroom does not recognize any of my file types [DNG / JPEG etc] and is unable to import? any ideas for a fix?

Lightroom does not recognize any of my file types [DNG / JPEG etc] and is unable to import? any ideas for a fix?

It's impossible. LR is a non-destructive editor and photo management. For her to not see images of the files would make it one of the worst of these programs tyupes.

So there is a parameter that you have screwed up in the import dialog window that prevents your DNG, TIFF, JPG, PSD, PNG, CMYK and film formats appear in the import window.

So show us a screenshot of your import window.

More than likely you have chosen a destination that has all the permissions read/write to your username.
