Lightroom. Do not launch.

Hello everyone, I've just updated Lightroom to 5.5 and now it will not start.

AdobeCC @@AdobeCare

We are always looking at the problem, but as a workaround, this can work for people.

1. Uninstall Lightroom 5.5.

2. install Lightroom 5.5 directly (and not through the Adobe Creative Cloud app) by downloading from the following links:

  • Lightroom is not opening

A long trip, I did most of my Macbook memory with photos using Lightroom 6. Everything still worked up to that on my way back, I closed my laptop while Lightroom is still open. The reopening of my laptop, I got an error due to memory (I had only ~ 3 GB free). After his return, Lightroom would not launch. It would start to (I would like to see the photo of the Woods) but the underlying program never actually run. I had to force quit again and again. I moved most of the photos on my external hard drive, freeing up most of the memory on my laptop, but I have the same problem. I started my last backup (only a few days) and who has the same problem. I .lock, - open the newspaper and overview of files even if lightroom is closed. I deleted the .lock file I read, maybe that's the problem, but it did not help. I read that I should not remove the other 2 because they are important (although I don't mind to all lose all changes since my last backup). I am totally stuck, I can't Lightroom to open and I have to send the photos tomorrow a deadline contest. I try to call Adobe support, but the call will not go through. Help, please!

    Hello

I suggest you please uninstall and reinstall Lightroom 6 on your computer.

  • I was in Lightroom and had a power surge and now Lightroom will not... What can I do about it?

I was in Lightroom and had a power surge and now Lightroom will not launch. He has encountered an error when reading the preview cache and needs to stop smoking. Lightroom will attempt to fix the next time it starts. I closed my system and Lightroom will not always start. Does anyone have any suggestions?

    You bet and Yes:

    * do not delete entire .lrdata folder

    * don't delete anything else

    Best?

If so, you can rebuild strength previews (e.g. standard previews of entire catalog) using library-> menu previews.

  • Can Lightroom 6 (not CC) in Windows 10 launch problems, anyone help?

Bought Lightroom 6 April 13 (5 days).   Downloaded installation and seemingly without any problem.  At the launch of however, I get a pop up that says Lightroom must close.  I get no further than the splash screen.  Spent several hours uninstalling, restart the computer and then re installation, both on my own and with the help of the box of cat from Adobe, nothing helps.  Have tried to find answers here in the forums, but have given up the search as it is organized like a crazy pie slice...  I am regretting the purchase and the level of support (as there seems to be no... Cat is a joke and there is NO phone number).

Can't wait to see if someone can help me with this problem here in the forums as seems to be the ONLY option available.  I don't have any idea if I write this in the right area or not.

    Thank you in advance.

UPDATE!  Today, I decided to go back and disable my graphics driver again and re enter in Lightroom.  While in Lightroom today with my tell-abled graphics card, I ran Lightroom control for update under one option menus help and the latest and best downloaded. (had to turn off at lightroom for this at the end) He opened after update successfully, I went and re-activated my graphics driver to see if Lightroom would now launch with the graphics card.  YES!

Thank you very much for your help!

  • Lightroom CC does not launch when inserted memory card

After installing Lightroom CC I can't get Lightroom to automatically launch when a memory card is inserted.  The option is enabled in the settings menu of Lightroom.  On my PC under AutoPlay, I have the option open with Lightroom 6.0 64 which is CC in Lightroom to my knowledge.  However, when you insert a memory card I get an error that says F:\ Application not found.  I can go into Lightroom and select import files from a memory card without problem.

    Thank you.

I had this problem and I was able to fix by changing the Windows registry (it was only a minor change).

I changed the value of the following registry key:

    HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Adobe.AdobeLightroom64\shell\open\command

    The value is:

    C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Photoshop Lightroom 5.7\Lightroom.exe "%".

    I changed it to:

    C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Lightroom\lightroom.exe '% '.

I had the same problem, just bought a new Macbook Pro (June 2015) and Lightroom CC had this error as well.  Here is the dialog box that I've had with Adobe, and it cures the problem:

Adobe: Then click GO on the MenuBar at the top of the screen.

Adobe:, and then click GO to folder, and then type: ~/Library/Application Support/Adobe /.

Adobe: Expand the section sharing & permissions.

Adobe: Click on + icon, and check if the administrator select

Scott: OK, I chose the Admin

Adobe: Give read and write to the Admini

    Scott: completed

Adobe: Click the gear icon and select apply changes to included items

    Scott: OK

Adobe: In the Finder window, click GO and select GO to folder

    Adobe: Type in
    Adobe: / Library/Application Support/Adobe
    / and press enter

    Scott: completed

Adobe: Control-click on the folder and choose read information

Adobe: Expand the section sharing & permissions.

    Scott: ok

Adobe: Give read and write permissions to all users

Adobe: Then click on the sign + and add the rest of the users from the list

    Scott: completed

Adobe: Now, please try to use the Lightroom from your computer.

Scott: Thank you - it works!

    Hope this helps others.
