I installed Adobe Lightroom CC.  Launching, a popup appears, which says: "AN INTERNAL ERROR has OCCURRED.  Could not create the required folder: /Users/(my user name)/Library/Application Support / Adobe / Lightroom / develop Presets. "So even if Lightroom CC is installed, it will not launch.  What should I do to allow him to launch?

I had the same problem, just bought a new Macbook Pro (June 2015) and Lightroom CC had this error as well.  Here is the dialog box that I've had with Adobe, and it cures the problem:

Adobe: Please click on the search option in your Dock at the bottom of the screen.

Adobe: Then click GO on the MenuBar at the top of the screen.

Adobe:, and then click GO to folder, and then type: ~/Library/Application Support/Adobe /.

Scott: OK, I did

Adobe: Control-click on the folder and choose read information.

Adobe: Expand the section sharing & permissions.

Adobe: Click on + icon, and check if the administrator select

Scott: OK, I chose the Admin

Adobe: Give read and write to the Admini

Scott: completed

Adobe: Click the gear icon and select apply changes to included items

Scott: OK

Adobe: In the Finder window, click GO and select GO to folder

Adobe: Type in
Adobe: / Library/Application Support/Adobe
/ and press enter

Scott: completed

Adobe: Control-click on the folder and choose read information

Adobe: Expand the section sharing & permissions.

Scott: ok

Adobe: Give read and write permissions to all users

Adobe: Then click on the sign + and add the rest of the users from the list

Scott: completed

Adobe: Now, please try to use the Lightroom from your computer.

Scott: Thank you - it works!

Hope this helps others.

    Hi Anthony,.

    You must go to the location: admin/Users / / Library/Application Support/Adobe/Lightroom

Hold down the CTRL key and click on Lightroom, click on read the information and click the permissions tab.

Provide the permissions to read and write to your identifier and then close.

Then reopen Lightroom. You should be able to open Lightroom.

Cannot create the folder means that you don't have WRITE permission for this folder. Then... change your permissions.

It could be a permissions problem. Go to your library to the user (replace with your own name of 99jon)

    Macintosh HD > users > 99jon > library > Application Support > Adobe

The best way to get to your library must throw Finder and in the menu click on Go while pressing the Optn (Alt) key, and then choose library. By default, the library is hidden unless the Alt key is pressed.

Click on (highlighted) the Adobe folder and press Cmd + i to display the info dialog box. Make sure you read & write permissions. If this is not the case, click on the padlock icon and change. Also, check the permissions on folders in Lightroom and Presets to develop in the same way.

  • Lightroom 6 error on startup (an internal error has occurred)

I bought Lightroom 6 online yesterday and tried to install it on my iMac OS X Yosemite 10.10.5 running.

When I start the software two error windows pop up:

    Error 1:

An internal error has occurred. Could not create the required file: points then to Lightroom/xxx/develop Presets.

    Error 2:

An error occurred when attempting to change modules.

The software .dmg has downloaded from my own account with Adobe and initiated with the registry key provided by Adobe in my account.

If anyone has experienced this problem before, and what is the solution?

    Hi mikem,

You must change the permissions of the folder Adobe in two libraries.

    > Go to the location: ~/Library/Application Support/Adobe

    / Library/Application Support/Adobe

    • CMD + click on the Adobe folder
    • Click on Get Info
    • Click the Permission & sharing
    • Click on the padlock
    • Unlock it
    • Change the permissions of writing & for all users.

Check the link and try the Solution 5: error changing modules
