  There is no way to buy new licenses of legacy versions. It's long and short of it. You can only hope to find used licenses, but of course that always carries the risk of falling victim to fraudsters...

  CS2 is too old to be compatible with the new Macs. There is nothing that you can do because it does not work on the new Intel Macs as it was designed for the old Mac PowerPC.

  You may stumble on a copy wandering cs6 somewhere, but chances are it is hacked. It is not officially for sale, anywhere. CS3 I think you can forget safely.

  That said, $10 per month gets you the updates later, future included and Lightroom thrown. Any way you calculate it is much better to manage.

  It is always possible that what version of Photoshop Elements, you are trying to install is too old to work with your new machine.  You may need to install it in compatibility mode, but there is still no guarantee that it will work.

  There is apparently a problem with IE10 + because it is wrongly considered IE1.  To work around this use another browser or compatibility view (http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/internet-explorer/use-compatibility-view#ie=ie-10)

  My guess is that you have a corrupted file downloaded, or have the wrong position on the file.

  Are patches of red and blue color?

  If so, you probably have warnings of cutting of light/shadow enabled. Press J to hide them.

  You can also activate their power by clicking on the arrows up left and right of the histogram.

  Salient facts cut medium red, medium blue clipped shadows.
