• Lightroom navigation and develop panels are completely absent on the first opening of the program

  I just downloaded Lightroom 5 compared to the creative clouds on my MacBook Air laptop, and I'm stuck. When I opened the app for the first time, nor the navigation panel on the left, or on the right Development Committee appeared, and there is no trace of these existing panels. In addition, the warning "an error has occurred when attempting to change modules" appeared when I opened the program for the first time.   Problem solved by following these instructions (from another forum):

  Solution 5: Set the correct permissions on the Lightroom Application Support folder

  The Lightroom inside the Application Support folder may have the wrong permissions prevent Lightroom to write to what may cause this error.

  Navigate to the following folder: /Users/ [user name] / Library/Application Support/Adobe/Lightroom

  Highlight the Lightroom folder and chose file > information

  Under sharing & authorization, check that your privileges of reading & writing. Otherwise, click on the padlock icon at the bottom right, enter your password when prompted, then click the only entrance to reading and select read & write.

• Navigator shows sometimes false image

  Recently, I noticed that sometimes, Navigator shows a different/false image than what is in the main screen, both in the library module, as well as in the develop module.  At the same time, when this happens, the name of the file above the film is bad for the main image... but it is the correct file name for the image displayed in the browser.

  This does not happen always, but often.  If I click on the main image to enlarge, it does solve the problem.   I can 'fix' the problem if I move the cursor of the mouse on the correct image in the Filmstrip at the bottom of the screen.

  I can't say for sure, but I think that I started to see this happen when I started using HDR from LR.  It does not appear to happen more often with the HDR-. DNG files created with the HDR feature, but I also see it happen on other files (RAW files... have not really seen on jpg or TIFF, however, although I don't have too many of those).

  Has anyone else seen elsewhere?

  Many people complained flaky behavior of the browser, since at least 4 LR.  Please add your vote and the details above to this bug report in the Adobe official feedback forum: Lightroom: Navigator photo evil poster preview pane.  It will be a bit more likely that Adobe could finally pay attention to the issue.

• Wrong thumbnail / preview

  Sometimes a thumbnail / preview image is not going to an image file. When I use 'zoom' to force the hole image load, the thumbnail / preview will be updated. The correct/thumbnail image Preview will disappear after awhile (for example when I go to maps and return library).

  • CC 2015.5.1 version / Windows 10 (problem exists also in LR5 / Win 7 and CC / Win 7)
  • Catalogue control and optimization when LR will be closed
  • Catalog previews.lrdata Lightroom rebuild without changes
    
  • jpg, raf and so forth also affected.
  • Even the preview is correct after 'zoom' - loading, the wrong version is displayed after a time

Please add your vote and the details of your question (especially details) - the most votes and more details, more likely it is that adobe could solve the problem it is.   1. what happens if I rename a picture on my computer, move it to another folder, or rename the folder which the photo is inside that I tell LR where it is?

  2. I have tons and tons of files with different pictures I want to start using with LR. Is it wise to organize the photos on my computer first in a sort of organized before entering LR structure or is it just a waste of time?

  1 Lightroom won't be able to find it. In this case, you will need to point LR to the new location of the photo and the new name. Important point: Lightroom is not a file Explorer. Important: once you import a photo in Lightroom, it takes all the management of this photo in Lightroom.

  2. it makes no sense to organize the photos in your operating system, because you have much more powerful tools in Lightroom. It makes sense to 100% to import photos into Lightroom, then Lightroom tools, such as keywords and other metadata, to organize the photos. Keywords and other metadata are specially designed for photographs, while the names of folders were not. Keywords and metadata allow photos to be organized in hierarchies (e.g. who, what, where, when and others) while folders allow you to organize as a hierarchy. Keywords and other metadata allow you to search that can find photos that are scattered in dozens of files. such a search is almost impossible in your operating system. So... let your photos where they are and import them into LR small batch and start to add keywords and other metadata for these photos. Subsequently, organization occurs in Lightroom with keywords and other metadata and not through folders or file names; Research happens in Lightroom; navigation occurs in Lightroom; and management of the files is done in Lightroom.

  I used Photoshop and Lightroom for years and upgraded to CC about 6 months ago.  I just got a new computer and downloaded Lightroom and Photoshop CC on the new machine.  In Lightroom, when I send a picture to the develop module, all I get is a blue screen, where the image should be.  The navigation signs and develop panels show very well, but the image does not appear on the main screen.  It appears in the browser.  What's up with that?

  Disable the CPU graph use in the performance of the LR preferences tab. Blue box will be gone, Image will show.

  There is a setting in the Interface of the LR preferences tab which is "See the pictures in the browser on the passage of the mouse", and I suspect you have that enabled (which it is by default, IIRC). With this setting is checked, then you move your mouse over a collection or a folder, the browser displays the first image in this collection/folder, regardless of the photo is currently selected.

  Looking at your screenshot, you have the collection 'All' selected, but your mouse is currently hovering over the 'Party' collection, so I think the image of the browser would be the first image in the collection "Festival."

  You must hold the SHIFT key while marking an image in the library for the auto-advance feature module

  for example: shortcut to pick and auto advance is SHIFT + P

• The black and white files are Purple in LightRoom CC (they work well in PS and other programs)

  All my black and white files (TIFF and jpg which are grayscale) have a purple slant and are darker in LightRoom CC (except for module development). They work fine on other programs such as PhotoShop, Picasa or other navigation applications. Lightroom Mobile works perfectly as well. I can't find a solution to my problem anywhere.   You have a defective monitor profile.

  Try to set the monitor to sRGB profile. If this solves the problem, you should ideally calibrate your monitor with a standard material.

  You can request a bug report in the Adobe official feedback forum: Photoshop Lightroom | Community customer Photoshop family. Adobe was quite sensitive to these reports for LR CC 2015 / 6.

  Click on buy next Lightroom, then click on full and choose to upgrade from the menu drop down.

  As you buy an upgrade, you need your series of Lighroom 5 only. during the installation.

• Card module Lightroom 6.5.1 mouse button seems stuck

  I'm a new convert to Lightroom after use Aperture on my iMac running 10.11.4 years. So far I'm loving except an annoying bug in the card module. When I'm in this module, it seems as if my mouse button is stuck down all the time making panoramic and navigation in the almost impossible map. As soon as I have the mouse on the map, it climbs some previous position so that I can't navigate to a new location.

  I have a magic mouse, a touchpad and a Wacom tablet on this system. I tried to disable all the running just the mouse or just the pad but and the other does the same thing.

  Sometimes, the system starts to work normally for a short period but will return to mode mouse locked with in a few minutes. Changing the zoom level can be allowing it to work for a while.

  I don't see any reference to this line or in these forums so it must be a rare anomaly or something in my own specific configuration.

  Tips on how to make the card module work properly would be appreciated.

  Being new to Lightroom I was not yet aware that the Panel of the browser was active or useful in the card Module. In fact, I used to use this feature and generally keep the browser panel closed to save space. But this trick does not seem to allow me to use the card module even if it isn't a real problem. I can just go that route and stop looking for an appropriate solution.
