Lightroom photo import problem
I have a problem with importing photos from my Panasonic Lumix camera. This is a new problem, it worked fine until my last import successful in May.
In may, I imported about 1200 high ground JPEG. No problems.
Now, here's what I feel. When I try to import now, the area preview import watch boxes without pictures... each box has the number of the photo below as it should... However there are no images. I did the following to try to focus on the issue.
1. I tried other memory cards using the same device... no luck, same problem.
2 - I downloaded the images on my desk and put them in a folder and then tried to import them into Lightroom folder. The same problem.
3 - I tried a memory card for a Canon G1x... everything works perfectly... Files JPEG and Raw files import all perfectly as it should and the preview images are there as it should.
4. I tried to drag the folder of photos in IPhoto... perfect. no problems.
It therefore seems to be a problem of camera... It's almost as if the camera is written in a language that Lightroom does not recognize these files.
But everything was Ok in May when I imported before.
Confused, and research advisor.
Jim
The import doesn't work is not is a bug fixed in Lightroom 6.6.1 (so you do not have the current version). I recommend you do the update to 6.6.1 LR and see if the problem goes away. Keeping up-to-date in Lightroom

I just updated the plan of photography of cc and put apps on my iMac and the macbook air. My question is Lightroom will not import to my iMac it keeps saying can not read files. the same files to import fine on my macbook air, so I wondered what could be the problem with Lightroom on my iMac.thanks in advance for the help with this
"Unable to read file" problem is normally write in the destination folder.
Using the Finder, make sure that you have READ and WRITE access to the destination folder.

Hi guys!
Been having bad last week, or so, with importing photos into Lightroom. I have a LOT of pictures, about 10.5 thousand, and try to import in Lightroom are problems of variables. The two big questions are this:
1. I store all my photos into folders to organize them. When downloading, all records imported photos are not just duplicated, but the photos in the files are duplicated twice. Any ideas there?
2. I name all my files that I save the photos in order to keep track of them. When a file starts uploading in Lightroom, it removes the name of the folder, which is a huge problem.
Another minor point, sometimes import gets stuck, but I tell myself it's just because of the amount of pictures that I'm importing, restarting fixes everything.
Any help would be greatly appreciated!
1. you probably import using the copy option while you should use the option Add
2. you, the user, have complete control over the name of the records used

Import problems in Lightroom CC / Windows 10
Import problems in Lightroom CC / Windows 10
I have problems to import a batch of photos of a recent session. I am importing images, every time even on the same day, since a camera SD card on my hard drive using the option "copy as DNG. My original files are Nikon raw (.) The NEF format) with sidecar JPG. Among the 292 cases tried in importing, only 7 are converted. DNG format and do it in my catalog. The remaining files have all been copied to my hard drive but are not converted to. DNG and do not appear in my catalog. When I try to import and convert the remaining files that were copied on my drive hard but not converted to DNG or added to my catalog files is displayed with a check box but eventually fail to get changed or added to the catalog.
I also tried to copy originals directly into a folder on my hard drive and making the Lightroom Import from there and get a similar result.
I am under Lightroom CC on a Windows 10 PC. Any idea what could be causing the problem?
First of all why you are converting to DNG? LR CC read Nikon NEF files fine.
Have you tried to copy the pictures to a folder on your disk and import only the naves with no conversion when importing?
Start a new catalogue and test-only import NEF files with no conversion to DNG.

Lightroom 6 (6.3) import problems
I have serious problems, import photos from my Canon 5 d mark III. I have over 300 new photos on my CF card, and the import function crashes after importing about 80 photos. Tried five times now, the same result every time. Try to import the same photo through my card reader is even more difficult. It crashes before the previews. The built in Windows import function works fine.
But also try to add/import a picture existing file om my C drive, also does not work. It will display "0 photos.
I used 5 before Lightroom. No problems.
Any help?
I have a desktop computer with 10 Pro 64 bit Windows installed on a disc SSD M.2 PCIe (Samsung 950 Pro 512 GB).
You should consider the possibility that the card is bad.
If you get a different card, take some photos, and then try to import, it work?

My lightroom/mac is having problems to import images, I tried a different card with the same results readers
This means that ccouldn can't ccopy Lightroom photos in the destination directory. You must determine which directory is specified in the Lightroom Import dialog box, it is on the right in the Destination. Then, you will need to enter your operating system and change the permissions on this specific issue to the WRITE permission.

I recently had to rebuild the computer and reinstalled the photos. I have photos imported into Lightroom, but the parameters associated with the photos, that is to say. When they were developed, are not there. How to import these?
Default LR stores all changes in the catalog file, not in the pictures. So if you have a backup of your original catalog you will need to copy on the newly rebuilt system and open it in LR. You will then need to recreate a link to the images in the catalog depending on where are your images and where the original LR catalogue think they are.

Lightroom has encountered problems of reading of this photo...
I do my editing on a macbook pro... in move to a pc. I'm under cloud of adobe on both machines so assuming that they are on the same update of programs...
When I open on my pc I get this error (not all the time)
Thanks Dave
Lightroom has encountered problems of reading of this photo...
This indicates that the photo file is corrupt, and it is unlikely that you will be able to use the photo at all. If you have a photo backup, you must restore the backup.
You can run diagnostics on your drives to identify potential problems. Map of the camera may also be the culprit, it could be that the file was written incorrectly camera card (although if you do not have the problem on the MacBook, but do have the problem on the PC, which seems to exclude the card camera)

Why Lightroom re - import photos already imported from my iPhone 5?
I noticed that if I use Lightroom to import photos from my iPhone, it fails to recognize that it has already imported to them. I do not see this behavior when my Canon imporing. How to make LR to recognize what it is already imported?
A question of "stupid":
Have you disabled
- top right of the import dialog box? It should be checked when you do not want "old" photos to import again.

Lightroom cc2015 import error "could not copy a file to the requested destination.
My Lightroom will import is more pictures. Images will come when card is in, import starts then the error message appears. I transferred pictures on the desk in the new folder and got the same message when you try to import the pictures in the folder. Then I reformatted the SD card, again made test photo and tried to import with the same results. There was an update with my CreativeCloud, Lightroom was updated to version lasted once again with the same results. Shutdown... computer blah blah, nothing has changed. Shooting with Nikon 7200, working on a MacBook Pro, Lightroom CC 2015
I have found similar problems online but haven't found any resolution.
Change the destination folder in the import image window.
Should be able to import images.

If Autorun does not start, the following steps may
be worth a try:Connect the camera to the computer via a USB cable and
Turn on the camera.Reach... Start / computer / removable devices
Storage...Look at the drive letters and see if one of them
represents the camera. He can say removable diskIf the camera is recognized... right click on the drive letter
and from the menu choose... Open or explore. The directory of the memory card in the camera must

files, you must find the photo files.Once found... you can copy/paste the pictures in a folder
on your hard drive.Simple and the best solution IMHO is to use an internal
or external USB memory card reader. It will not drain your camera batteries and can be faster.
FWIW... download from the camera when batteries
can be low after a long photo shoot could result
corrupted photos. You have a USB media drive internal or external?
Insert the memory card into the correct location on the media player...

Removable drive (g)If_Yes_you can download photos from there. Left click
the drive letter that corresponds to the memory card must
display the directory of the card and you can copy and paste or

then navigate to the folder that you want, and then right-click the
folder and choose Paste. -

What version of LR?
In any case you must enter the serial number to a registered version. If it is for a subscription of the CC, all you have to do is sign in using the same Adobe ID membership is linked to.
If for stand-alone version, depending on the version, all you have to do is enter a number of valid series or Sign In for LR 6, then enter a valid serial number.

Try to import photos from a different catalog by selecting and choosing the catalog to import since I get the pop up "Lightroom cannot import this catalog. The catalog does not appear to be a valid Lightroom Catalog"I have lightroom 5.7.1 installed on both my Macbook Pro laptop and iMac desk top. The two are running OS 10.10.5. I try to import photos from the laptop to the desktop on a wireless home network. Other than this recent attempt to import pictures, everything seems to work normally on both computers
Maybe I tried to import about 800 photos, each of about 40MB, through a wireless network. Most of the photos of the number were consecutive, so perhaps there was a /corruption of interruption in the process. Anyway thanks for the help

Could not copy a file at the location requested. Mac OS 10, Version 10.10 [1].
I JUST bought this new macbook pro and Lightroom installed, imported 2 lots of pictures, but all of a sudden he kept denying my imports with "could not read the file" or "couldn't copy file at the location requested. Help, please!
Your use of the word "files" (in the plural) still makes me believe that you have not checked the permissions on the folder that is appropriate (in the singular).
You must determine the Destination of the Lightroom Import dialog window Panel and see which folder Lightroom is really tr6ing to copy photos in (which may have been accidentally changed and is not what you may have used in the past) and change the permissions to write to this folder.
