  . . . . I can't find a solution elsewhere. I recently look at a tutorial, Julieanne Kost LR4 and came across this problem of catalog update. The thing is, when I click on (Windows7) file/open recent, there are three catalogs:

  Lightroom2Katalog-2 - 2.lrcat (verified)

  Ligthroom2Katalog - 2.lrcat and

  Lightroom Catalog.lrcat 3. All this due to version changes, computers etc. and lack of knowledge.
  By clicking on catalog open leads to nowhere; That is to say, it opens the My Documents folder. My pictures are on an external hard drive, the program is on my computer.
  Something seems wrong. No idea what I need to do?

  Any help would be appreciated, because I would also like to take this opportunity to clean things up a bit.

  Fortunately for you, there are other ways to know that book Kelby, I don't think that covers the library Module. In my opinion, you should just ignore Kelby regarding the library Module and start reading where it shows you how to retouch your pictures.

  If you mean that your photos have? next to them and Lightroom is looking for photos on your C drive, then go to the folder Panel on the left, make a right click on the top level with a folder? and select find missing files and LR point to your external hard drive and it should reconnect to all.

  My images have disappeared in the catalog. Don't miss them, they are not visible. I think that there is a bug in the Fliter section.

  Let me explain. I have a main folder with 5 subfolders. All of these files contain random amounts of images. (that is, the path would be...  Photo/2010/BeachShoot, or Photo/2008/PartyPics... etc).

  I imported the images, so 5 subfolders of 5 years. I was in random tagging images be dismissed with the key "x". Big interview... flag so much, and then call only the rejected photos in the grid, select all, then delete. Remove the filter from flag... Repeat the process again and again...   Basic work, simple...

  Now... just do something... I removed all the filters to flag and my images make their appearance is no longer in the catalog. I tried turning on the flags, off the coast of flags... etc. The images does not get accidentally deleted. I checked my location on hard disk. Are there images. I rebooted the machine, I opened a different catalog, to deceive back... didn't work. I tried to re - import the images... but he says they are already in the catalog.

  Strange: window on the left Sidebar, under catalogue "All photographs", it shows the correct number of photos in the catalog. However... the strange part... Under 'Files' in the side bar on the left under catalogues my account main watch 'Zero' number of images. But if I click on a root folder where live images, they number varies from zero to the correct number of images and my images keep popping up on the screen as usual...

  The work around... click on each subfolder...

  The solution... Not sure? Help!

  Atul, I thank you for your response. I had read a lot of comments referred to as before posting my query. Not too encouraging - used LR 2/3/4 with operating system previous Windows without problem. Will sit on the fence a little longer on this one.

  If you are certain that you have the correct number of series, there are really not much that we can help you here. You can try to download and install the latest version of Lightroom 2. This will be the trial version, but when the trial screen there is an option to indicate that you have a serial number. Either way, Lightroom serial numbers start with the four first digits being 1160.

  I have to pay a monthly subscription for all photography and I adobe applications like photoshop and Lightroom 6 I used on my laptop without a problem until 2 days ago, but now my phone is completely dead. I have a windows Tablet and that you have installed applications. My problem/question is, I tried to open the Lightroom Catalog. How do I get 6 Lightroom on the Tablet I can get with my editing. It is v5.7.1 the latest version on my tablet at the moment. My deadline to the Faculty is a week away!

  Hello.  I pay package photography for monthly subs and I have photoshop and lightroom 6 that I use on my laptop no problem... until 2 days ago my laptop is dead... completely.    I have a windows Tablet and you have installed the programs. My problem is, I tried to open the lightroom catalog I want to use, but because it has been used in lightroom 6, I get a message saying that it is too recent and choose a different catalog. How can I get 6 Lightroom on the Tablet I can get with my editing.  It is v5.7.1 on my tablet at the moment.  My deadline to the College's panic away wee a week! Thanks for reading. • Color adjustments in Lightroom problems.

  I'm new to Lightroom, and I used it for awhile with no problems, until recently.

  Normally, I shoot with a Nikon D800 and have had no problems with it, import and play of colors.  Recently, I rented a Fujix100 for a job and used both lightroom to process all of these images, but I feel like it may have changed a setting in lightroom because now when I import my Nikon, where there should be a subtle gradation, I get magenta strips.

  Strange thing is, this happens only in the Lightroom workspace.  When I export the image, I don't see the banding, and even on a monitor friends, they do not notice the strapping.

  Im getting my Nikon verified that we talk to make sure it's not not my sensor, but my question is, is anyway to reset the color on Lightroom settings just to be enabled by default?

  And this information is then attached to my different catalogs, or just the application?

  Edit-I should also add that I had to replace the monitor on my computer as a cause of yellowing, so I know that my monitor is new (unless they were replaced by a defective screen, but then I'd see gangs everywhere.)

  I think that the problem is with the new screen, not with cameras.  Shooting with another brand or model should not have an impact on another model.  If you mean reset default settings for cameras, yes you can do it.  But using the Fuji should not have affected the Nikon at all.  You either have to calibrate this new monitor, or Exchange it for another one if you have this option.

• Export the Lightroom 3 - Windows Catalog

  I use Lightroom Mac OS 3.5 in school and that you use the version of Windows at home (I'm running Windows 7). Having a problem with the export of catalogs on Windows. I have my preference set to save presets with catalog. I copy the folder exported in a flash and opened on the Mac at school, but does not show my presets of meta. What I am doing wrong?

  The presets are only recorded in the original catalogue, not the exported catalog. However, you should be able to copy them manually to the new computer from their current location (i.e. the same folder as the original catalogue)

  After installed Lightroom 2, I tried to import my old catalog. This failed with the message "Lightroom cannot use the catalog named 'Lightroom 2 catalog' because it is not accessible in writing and can not be opened"

  I have tried with previous backups of the catalog and has the same problem.

  I noticed that, during this process, a similar file with the type .lock appears shortly, then disappears.

  The error message looks like this:

  Check the permissions on the folder and the file catalog. Make sure that you "own".

  Hello, I don't know how to explain my problem because I just started playing with lightroom, but when you view a photo in the phase of 'developing' my photo in the main display area looks like it's a thermo view any?
