Export the Lightroom 3 - Windows Catalog

I use Lightroom Mac OS 3.5 in school and that you use the version of Windows at home (I'm running Windows 7). Having a problem with the export of catalogs on Windows. I have my preference set to save presets with catalog. I copy the folder exported in a flash and opened on the Mac at school, but does not show my presets of meta. What I am doing wrong?

Jim

The presets are only recorded in the original catalogue, not the exported catalog. However, you should be able to copy them manually to the new computer from their current location (i.e. the same folder as the original catalogue)

Trying to export contacts to a folder only in gmail, but cannot select one.

    Hello

There is no option in Windows Mail to export a specific contact group.
You can export all contacts to Excel and edit/print as you wish.
Follow these steps to export the Windows Mail Contacts to Excel:
    a. open Windows Contacts by clicking on the Start button, all programs, and then clicking Windows Contacts.
    b. on the toolbar, click on export and then click on the CSV format.
CSV (Comma Separated Values). It is a format of generic file used to export or import information to and from databases or spreadsheets.
    c. click Export, select a folder where you want to store your contacts in the new format and then click OK.
    d. when a message appears telling you that the contacts export process is complete, click OK and then click Close.

  • Lightroom 6 won't open the Lightroom 3 catalog

I just upgraded from Lightroom 3 Lightroom 6. When I try opening or importing from an existing catalog that worked very well in Lightroom 3, Lightroom, says the catalog must be upgraded. When I opt to upgrade the catalog, the dialogue is blocked (for several hours) to "catalog Upgrade underway - prepare the new database. If I opt to import it from a catalog, he is suspended from the 60% mark. It seems likely the same error in both cases.

Is there an alternative to return to 3 Lightrom and cancel my subscription?

Which operating system are using you and thew exact version of the operating system, Mac or Windows?

Check the catalog folder tries to use to upgrade has both read & write permissions for your user name. If on a Windows system, which would be a full control of your user name.

Make sure that the disk on a catalog has a sufficient space available for the copy of the LR 3 catalog for a catalog LR 6.

  • Cannot open the Lightroom Catalog

    Hi.

I get a message on the screen in windows when I try to go on lightroom that says "lightroom catalog could not be opened because it has been opened by another application already and I don't know where it may be or even where to look? can you help me please

Go in the same folder as your Lightroom catalog file.

In this folder is a file whose name ends in. LOCK (probably all lowercase). Delete this one. LOCK file. Do not remove anything else.

  • Cannot export the profile of calibration of camera when exporting catalogs

I often take work and have to color calibrate the artwork using a color corrector.  The 'calibration of the camera profile' is saved in my "camera profiles.  I attached pushes a lot so when you export a catalog LR my laptop on my desk, the calibrated camera profile is not transferred. So whenever I do a manual transfer to the camera profile folder.   When can we expect the 'calibration of the camera profile' export as well as the catalogue?

    Concerning

The way the file structure is designed, I don't expect camera profiles to be included in the catalogue. They are all grouped in the resources folder in the Lightroom folder. Lightroom chooses the profile based on the model of camera. This would require all profiles of camera must be included in the catalogue. I could be wrong, but I don't think that this is part of the Adobe development plan.

    • Please specify what adobe patch are you talking about?
    • A you kept a backup pf your LR catalog and images somewhere before moving on to Windows 10.
    • You have access to your original images, or they went too?
    • Try to search the catalog using windows search, .lrcat is the extension of the catalogue, see if you find something.

  • How to copy the Lightroom catalog on different hard drives?

Can you tell me how to register my catalog of lightroom on 3 different hard drives? I have it only on a single HDD from now.

    Hi danielleg,

    Greetings!

Connect your drives on the computer on which your catalog is present

Simply copy the catalog and stick to 3 different disks.

The location of the Lightroom Catalog is typically C:\Users\UserName\Pictures\Lightroom (Windows) and User\Pictures. Lightroom (MAC)

  • Still trying to open the Lightroom Catalog and stops

I tried to import a picture from a file on my computer. The Lightroom 3.6 Lightroomstopworking.JPG program stops.  When I try to open the program, a message appears that says "Lightroom - opening catalog: DSC_2155.lrcat.

Immediately after that that appears on my screen, that a box appears that says "Adobe Photoshop has stopped working" below to bed "a problem caused blocking the program works correctly.  Windows will close the program and notify you if a solution is available. »

Of course I never am notified and a solution is never available.  I tried to delete Lightroom and reloading the program, but the same problem occurs.

is there a way to fix this?

  • Export the catalog incl. Publication services

    Hello

I just exported a Lightroom 5 catalog from one hard disk to another. Very well, I had all the files and images and settings, but miss me my services to publish (publish on Google Drive). When you export the catalog I scored the top folder of the page "Photos".

I have a lot to publish folders serive why I would be grateful if someone could help me get these in my new catalog. Thanks for your help!

    Peter

Peter, you shouldn't have re-imported the files on the disk.

You can remove rom the catalogue and rightclick just folders in the library and select Update folder location. This will keep all your previous work intact as well as the history, etc.

  • I want to copy the files published on a second computer, do I need to export the catalog or can I just copy

I find that I edit the files on my phone but I want the files, with their changes to reside on my desktop also.

I had exported the folder as a catalogue, but can't think of shy, I can't just copy the folder that contains the files in RAW and XMP formats and import the folder on the desktop PC. This option seems to work as well as catalogue option.

Any reason I should choose one way over the other?

    Use Lightroom 4.2

    Thank you

    Kelvin

You use the Export as Catalog method.

There are things in the catalog that are not stored in XMP.

  • LR has been impossible to export the catalog previews and negative

My first post in this forum.  I want to delete all of my iMac to upgrade from Tiger to Snow Leopard and then charge back.  First job is to "Export as catalog" all my photos (about 6000) since the Mac to an external hard drive (Maxtor OneTouch 4Plus, 450 GB of available).  I tried 6 or 7 times and each time getting a similar message - see line object.  I deleted unnecessary files, managed to get rid of unused keywords and exported 2000 odd of my previous pictures in JPEG format to archive in order to reduce the volume.  I reloaded LR and updated to 2.6.  In the export dialog box, I ticked 'Export negative files' and 'include available Previews.  Export gets to about three-quarters of the way through each time until I get the error message and I have to give up.

    Appreciate any assistance.

All THE PHOTOS is included in your LR folder hierarchy?  If this isn't the case, then you must click the right button (or whatever the equivalent of Mac) on one of the folders in your hierarchy of LR and choose to include the Parent folder.  Once you have done this and everything copied, you can file missing just locate on a high back and you will find everything under it.  If you have not the parent folder in LR before copying, you will need to locate the missing files on each of the top-level folders.

Once you have copied your pictures, you can rename your local copy of all THE PHOTOS to make sure that you do not accidentally, and then locate the missing folder to make sure it works on the remote location.

Once you are satisfied with your catalog is to see all distance and when you're ready, copy your catalog and your previews and backup folders above and rename the local copy of the Lightroom to open accidentally this copy of the catalog, even once.  I copy things, instead of moving them, in case something happens, you can start over.

If you immediately update your mac, then copy all three documents, other than iChat ones, pictures on your remote disc and open the remote catalog and find files while missing only one.  I suggest take only pictures, first of all, in case you want to continue to work on the pictures, the local copy of the catalogue will be faster, but if you're ready to upgrade, then simply make all copies at the same time.  All THE PHOTOS and excerpts will be time-consuming copies, catalog, itself, will not take very long.

  • Lightroom export - original file with the Lightroom change data

    Hello, Hello!

I imported a file, for the sake of arguments, some JPEG files, TIFF and DND in Lightroom photos, leaving the files in place and just linking them to the library of the Lightroom Catalog. I then did a bunch of 'changes' to photos in Lightroom (the data of these changes are stored in the Lightroom catalog file, right?).

Now can I export some of the photos from Lightroom so that the file that comes out is, in the same/different file format (e.g. JPEG/TIFF/DNG) and have the change Lightroom incorporated (perhaps in the EXIF data) data from the exported file? Can I then open it with a 'normal' program and have it show the original? Can I open it with Lightroom/Photoshop (?) so it shows the original with the change data applied?

    Thank you very much! :-))

Now can I export some of the photos from Lightroom so that the file that comes out is, in the same/different file format (e.g. JPEG/TIFF/DNG) and have the change Lightroom incorporated (perhaps in the EXIF data) data from the exported file?

Yes, but you must not export. Simply press Ctrl / Cmd + S to save metadata. the metadata will be incorporated into files. Note that the image will not be altered. In other words, if you view the jpeg format in an external viewer, you will not see adjustments made in Lightroom. Only Adobe products can interpred those.

Can I then open it with a 'normal' program and have it show the original?

    Yes.

Can I open it with Lightroom/Photoshop (?) so it shows the original with the change data applied?

Yes. When you open in Photoshop, and it's a non - RAW (such as JPEG or TIFF) file, there is an option somewhere in Camera RAW to be used for the opening no-RAWs. The point is, those who must go through Camera RAW, instead opened directly in Photoshop, to correctly interpret metadata.
