  The red light of the headset jack means the MacBook Pro thinking that an optical audio cable is plugged into the port.   Yes, it is a new feature in iOS 10 called "Raising to wake", where you can check the notifications on the lockscreen without hitting the power button / stop or the "home" button.  I don't know if I like it or not, but I currently have always it turned on.
