Limit the size of extract PDF text CASE 3.0.1

Hi all
Is there a file size limit at which a PDF can have their text? I do a scan of system files, and it seems that all the larger files are not having their text to extract. I checked their security settings, and the text is extractable. My second question concerns larger files, extract all the text or only up to a certain point? The last question is if there is a size limit or if not all the text is always retrieved, how I too get the?

Thank you

The syntax of the file DocumentConversionFilters.xml is described in detail in the CASE Developer's Guide for version 3.0.1 in the ' Introduction to the CASE crawling Data Sources and ">"Creating and configuring a crawl">"about filters"> section 'Configuration of document conversion filters.

  • Can I limit the number of lines of text entered into a TextArea?

    Hello

    I use Flex Builder 2 to create an application that allows users to enter text in different TextAreas and eventually create a PDF file with their different text. My only problem is that I can't limit the number of lines of text used in each text box. I can limit characters by using maxChar, but this does not take into account a user entering multiple presses "return" - this does not affect the character limit, but can result in the final PDF layout (spitting the text on page 2).

    Is there a way to keep track and limit the number of lines of text in a text box (in Flex 2)?

    How to crop the size of a PDF?

    Hey sjt1g15,

    This can be done using Adobe Reader.

    If you have the Adobe Acrobat software, you can do the same thing.

    Don't forget, you can crop the pages of a PDF document and not size.

    Reference: Acrobat Help. Crop pages PDF

    Or, if you want to reduce the size of the file, then choose "file > save as other > reduced size Pdf/optimisee PDF.

    Hope it will be useful.

    Hi oneidatourism,

    You will need Acrobat to reduce the size of a PDF file. If you do not have Acrobat, you can try it free for 30 days. See www.adobe.com/products/acrobat.html for more information.

    In Acrobat, choose file > save as other > PDF of reduced size.

  • How to determine the "size of extraction" application?

    Hi all.

    The BP is 11.2.0.3 on a linux machine.

    I would like to know the size of 'extraction' of an application, but I wasn't able to find any related meteris in v$ statname.

    The configuration of the application is invisible to me.

    Do I need to do some calculations based on statistical v measurement $ statname?

    If so, what meteris should consider the hypothesis of "size of extraction?

    The following is from manual, but the application configuration is invisible to me.

    Hello.

    Produce a trace for a session of the sample file and have a look through it for lines like

    FETCH #n, c =, e = r =

    R = entry will display the number of rows returned for each extraction. If you make several extractions to get your full value at the time line, you will see a number of these lines with the same r = value .

    I'm sure there is an easier way, but this is the first in mind.

  • limit the size on the column heading in the report SQL auery

    Hello

    I returned a SQL query in the report where my column labels are also dynamically. Apparently, the size of this label is limited? Why?
    We tried to get the maximum and it seems that it is limited to 32 characters?

    Y at - it a solution because the meaning of the column in my app is really more important and must be displayed entirely

    Thank you

    Erwin

    Erwin,

    APEX does not limit the size of the headers of column (at least not at only 32 characters). AFAIK a limitation exists only if you use a Type of "Column names" or "column names (InitCap)." Then you click on the limitation of the Oracle DB as an identifier of Oracle, for example name or alias of the column referenced in your SQL query, may not exceed 30 characters long. To work around use a Type of "Custom" or "PL/SQL". "PL/SQL", you can dynamically set the report headings with a function that returns the headers as a string of delimited colon. You call the function like this:

    return get_my_report_headers(<input parameters>)

  • Limit the size of the File Upload/accessory

    Hi people.

    I'm trying to create a problem/bug of my request tracker item.

    All work including attach parts supporting the question and e-mail questions and updates to users with attachments to e-mail to support.

    What I am struggling with limit the size of the file that users can fix a problem (and therefore attach to emails).

    I tried to implement a validation like this...
    if dbms_lob.getlength(:P203_DOCUMENT) > 3 then
       return 'Supporting document too large ('||dbms_lob.getlength(:P203_DOCUMENT)||').';
    else
       return null;
    end if;
    I want to limit the size of the file to circa 1or2 Mb. What I found is that I dbms_lob.getlength(:P203_DOCUMENT) wildly different results to try to download files from the same sizes. for example, a test of 1105 KB file gives a performance of 57 and a file 2236 KB Gets a return of 20.

    Had a scratch around the documentation, but it is not very clear.

    If I run a query like this to the database...
    select dbms_lob.getlength(DOCUMENT)
    from user_issue_tracker
    I'm starting to get better results (for example, the number of bytes in the file)

    I expected an assessment of similar values in my validation by their SUMMIT, but I don't see the return values that I expect.

    Some popular ideas/comments/experiences.

    Kind regards

    Simon Gadd

    Simon,

    if dbms_lob.getlength(:P203_DOCUMENT) > 3 then

    Unless I'm misunderstanding of your code, don't you passing the name file name as opposed to the BLOB real itself, which would certainly explain why you're not given the sizes you expect since this is only counting the size of the string, you pass in, for example.

    jes@TESTDB> select dbms_lob.getlength('foo') from dual;

    DBMS_LOB.GETLENGTH('FOO')
    -------------------------
                            3

    Hope this helps,

    John.

  • limit the size of the number in the text box

    Hello

    I have a text box that tasks in figures (do a validation prior to submitting the page). Now, I want to limit the magnitude of the number. Like, I want to store only 3 digits after the decimal point to the database.

    I can't give this column prsition and scale in some other grounds (Number (6.3)).

    Either way is acceptable: either allow the user to enter only 3 ditigits after the desimal point (may be it's hard) or submit the page check when scale and round the number to 3 digits after the decimal place and store to th db.

    How can I do?
    Please suggest.

    Thank you.

    Hello

    You can use submit after calculation for round the value.
    Or maybe that you add to the onchange event of the item and use javascript to round and return value.

    BTW, do you want a table?

  • Why is the size of my PDF from my InDesign export still big?

    I'm doing a class project which is a document of four pages, the seven-image with very little text. The project must be submitted as a PDF under 300 KB. However, when I export the document to the title of the smallest size of predefined file and with the compression up to 72 dpi, I get a PDF file that is 612 KB.

    All my classmates are able to get less than 300 KB, so I'm confused as to why mine is so great. I use 5 2 gif and jpg files and each take a in 5 by 5 inch paper square. They are relatively very small photos (approx. 250 KBS) and I have re-saved everything to be less than 100 KB, but the PDF size only drops to about 500ko I transferred between CC InDesign on Mac and InDesign CS5 on Windows and I wonder if this is a problem.

    Just wanted to share the results, in case someone falls on this forum in the future.

    Layout of danegonzalezfour-page InDesign, seven black and white images have been used.  Three pages contained two 5 "5" with images of seven lines of text under each image and the last page had one set of image-description of similar sizes.  A check of the PDF made on Acrobat (below) shows that the images made up the majority of the size of the file.

    Since the images have some detail, I thought that changing their file type would be the best way to create a more compact PDF file and preserve the integrity of the images.  So I cropped the images to the size and saved PNG 24-bit files.  Even if the PNG files are larger than the originals, he gave good results PDF.  Here are the results of the audit of the PDF update after using predefined default to InDesign "smallest file size".

    I am happy that we managed to solve this problem.

  • How to limit the size of virtual memory dedicated to the JDK 8?

    Hello

    I use JDK 8 on Solaris on x 64 box 11.1:

    Java $-version
    Java version "1.8.0_11".
    Java (TM) SE Runtime Environment (build 1.8.0_11 - b12)
    Java for 64-bit Server VM (build 25.11 - b03, mixed mode)

    I am running tomcat/xwiki on top of that. I set myself as a result of operating options to limit the use of memory in Java:

    CATALINA_OPTS = "" Server - d64 - Xms1024m-Xmx1024m - XX: MaxMetaspaceSize = 1024 m - XX: MaxPermSize = 196 m-Dfile.encoding = utf - 8 - Djava.awt.headless = true - XX: + UseParallelGC - XX: MaxGCPauseMillis = 100 ' "

    These params are from the same time project JDK 7 served so I left - XX: MaxPermSize here even if it is no longer supported and I just added - XX: MaxMetaspaceSize = 1024 m for JDK 8.

    My problem is that when I put server under a load to push new sound REST API to the XWiki pages, then I see RSS (in prstat) hovers around 1.5 GB, but the growing SIZE and the entire process to push pages on the server becomes slower and slower.

    The problem is that I am not able to detect any obvious memory leak using jconsole or using visual vm and the dump of the heap. They both claims that, all in all, my JDK consumes up to 2 GB of RAM. The only exception is jconsole, in his summary of the VM pane, tells me that the amount of "committed virtual memory:" occupies about 14 GB, which corresponds to the observation of the utility value of SIZE of prstat.

    I do not like the idea of JVM consumes more memory with possibility not to stop in this process, I would like to ask if there are any parameter which will allow me to set the memory hard limit can be used by any JVM?

    Any idea is appreciated here,

    Thank you!

    Karel

    Just a follow-up. It seems that this probably isn't problem with JDK se. The problem more and more memory is caused by Apache Solr, which uses the memory-mapped file access and this adds to the amount of virtual memory. It also explains why he is not counted in the amount of heap memory.

    In any case, some kind of help on this will be appreciated in either visualvm or jconsole. For example jconsole should at least add an indicator to virtual memory committed that it contains also the memory mapped files or something like that.

    Thank you!
    Karel
