Limitation of the size using MS Backup backup

When I am using MS Backup and backup on a USB key, it fails due to the limit of 4 GB FAT32 file structure.  I use Acronis True Image, because it breaks the backup into several files.  I want an another backup because of the structure of True Image files.  Is there a way to get around this or software to which is attached a file that can be read without special software being preinstalled on the disc?  Backup will work with the USB, the file size limit is the problem.  I would like to use the USB as it is less expensive ($35 for 16 GB), I have several backups and store them off-site and it is faster than my external hard drive.  I prefer to use backup rather than copy / paste, because you can save sets of files from backup rather than having to select the individual files you want to include or exclude backups each time.   Thanks in advance for your comments.

I just wanted you to know that I found the answer.  I was unable to format one of my readers for memory stick USB using the techniques above.  But I did an internet search and came up with the following article.  (http://www.ntfs.com/quest22.htm)  It describes how to go to the device and select "optimize performance". After selecting this option, you can use the process cited by Praseetha K. to format to NTFS flash drive.  It'll back in the drop-down list box.  But that will happen that after selecting the option optimize for performance and apply.  My system must be different from all the systems described in the answers because I can't come up with all the menus via the techniques mentioned but by using 'My Computer', Device Manager' and 'Properties', I was able to convert the file format.   But be careful.  Under 'my computer' it will allow you to format a drive including your boot drive.  Make sure that you have selected your USB key before selecting the format!   And it will erase any information on this drive.   Thank you all for your help and maybe it will help others.

  • Restore files after restoring the image using Windows backup

    Running W7 pro 64-bit. Had the problems of virus/malware, finally restored my discs from image system, dated 2 weeks ago and then restore backup files dated Windows from yesterday.

    When I go to save / restore my files, the update does not list a backup happened 2/14, the date of the restored image. When I go to manage Windows backup disk space, and then select backup period to remove the last date is 3/1, when I did the last backup. The date & time system is running with a date of 3/2.

    How can I fix it?

  • Reduce the size of my backup file.

    Backing up files on my computer seems too large. I have Windows 7 and it has 298 GB in D drive and at the present time, there are 53 GB free.  The system tells me that requiere 244 Go back up, which seems excessively high.  I went through and deleted the old back ups. and the current D: file shows that it is divided into 3 things - Datat file backups: 81 GB, System image 163GB & other files 111 GB.  Any ideas how to reduce the size of the back up required?

    Hello

    1 have had modifications made to your computer before the problem occurred?

    2. do you get any error code or error message when you try to perform the action?

    Archive old files to backup in ZIP files.

    You can use Zip compressed Windows to compress backup files to save disk space, or you can perform a customized Windows backup.

  • How can I increase the size of my backup of windows D drive?

    I get the message that I don't have enough space to perform another backup.

    You save on an internal hard drive rather than externally?

    Backups on drives to the bosom of the PC are more useful than the chocolate teapots but narrowly - if your PC does not go, only then he can take his readers with her.  If you choose to backup to an external drive as an external hard drive connected by USB, then you are much safer.  While I use a third-party backup utility, I understand that Windows backup [as its default setting] the backup disk D:\ destination and that is what led you in your current situation.

    To avoid this external drive to fill too quickly, you must manually manage.  In General, what fills the reader is the series of system images that can be included in backups.  They are very useful, but are almost as big as the space used on the original disc.  You can manually delete older images to free up space on the disk for the next.  In fact, I keep two recent images but delete the older in turn.  If you are interested to do this, then I can give you the details of how do.

    The fact that you say that you back up the disk D:\ also makes me think that you have the OS & its applications on the C:\ drive and you have all your own files on the C:\ drive.  If that is correct you can get also huge improvements [once you set backups up to use an external hard drive] by moving your data files on to D:\.  Other than the time needed to move your files, setting up that accompanies this change takes less than two minutes.  The additional benefits of the present are considerable.  You can continue to make backups of your own files normal files and that you carry on making images of system.  But these system images are going to be up to about 35 GB and only take 20 minutes to do.  Similarly, recovering from serious problems of the system by restoring these images only takes 20 minutes to do.  Because I have my PC set up this way, I can get out of the serious problems of the system with ease.  If you are interested to do this then I can give you the details of how do.  Someone else asked about just last week, so I know I can find the procedure.

  • can not see the size / used for desktop HD icon

    Then... I managed to get the main drive Macintosh HD appears in the sidebar of Finder and on my desk.  So far so good.

    And I managed to get the Finder View Options to show the size (and space still free if writable) to the drive and folder of the icons on the desktop.  EXCEPT...

    ... Macintosh HD, disc master system, which is of course that I'm more interested!  No text size or free space for that icon.

    All recommend for anything - dock icon, mini app, pref setting - which would allow me to see the used/free space on the primary drive at a glance without having to launch the utility disc or cmd - I Info or another tool?  I just want to see, in the text or graphic to sectors or at the bar of the gauge form, somewhere on my desk.

    Right-click on the icon of the hard disk on your desktop.  In the submenu that appears, select "Show view Options".

    Then check "view point info.

    If this does not work as a first step, relaunch the Finder (-> force quit-> Finder-> stimulus), then try again.  You can also start your computer Safe Mode, follow the steps that I have described above and see if it works.  If this is the case, restart your computer normally, and then try again.

  • Limits on the size of the UDP packets

    I can't receive packets UDP only larger than the size of 8192 bytes. I can receive packets that are lower (or equal) of 8192 bytes.

    Also if a 8193 bytes packet is sent from the server not only make time trying to receive (i/o operation has expired), but I can't receive all the smaller packages later. It's like this big package breaks any subsequent extraction. I keep time after him. I tried to increase the timeout, but it doesn't help.

    I was under the assumption that the limit of a UDP packet is 65507 (this is the output of datagramConnectionBase.getMaximumLength ()). Is there something that I am missing, or is this a limit?

    Here is a snippet of the code I use:

    private DatagramConnectionBase datagramConnectionBase;
    private Datagram udpDatagram = null;

    //Init UDP
    String url = "datagram://:" + getConnectionSuffix();
    datagramConnectionBase = (DatagramConnectionBase) Connector.open(url, Connector.READ_WRITE, true);

    //Send UDP
    String data = "HELLO UDP SERVER! [" + System.currentTimeMillis() + "]";
    byte[] buffer = data.getBytes();

    url = "datagram://" + txtHost.getText() + ":" + txtHostPort.getText() + getConnectionSuffix();
    udpDatagram = datagramConnectionBase.newDatagram(buffer, data.length(), url);
    datagramConnectionBase.send(udpDatagram);

    In a thread:

    datagramConnectionBase.setTimeout(1000);
    udpDatagram = datagramConnectionBase.newDatagram(datagramConnectionBase.getMaximumLength());

    datagramConnectionBase.receive(udpDatagram);
    byte[] b = udpDatagram.getData();

    logThis("Bytes: " + udpDatagram.getLength());

    Just to close this message. In the end, I never found any official or unofficial word on the maximum UDP packet size.

    The solution we have implemented was ventilation packets sent in 508 bytes and reassemble at destination. This seems to work great although it seems that there are times that the unit is being overwhelmed with packages it to drop some... but that's for another post.

  • Data store sizes do not correspond to the sizes used all the vm

    Hey guys, I'm new in Vmware and I have a background of storage and I wonder if its correct what I see when I compare the total size of all the stores of data vs the 'space used' totals of all VMs running on these data stores.

    I see a total of 139 to on data warehouses with 33 to free space and when I add the vm used all space I have a totall TB 138. It's the size of all data stores!

    This seems not very accurate for me, I expect the total space used much lower. All the vm uses eager reset thick space.

    I hope someone can explain or confirm that they see similar things?

    For used space I exported the list of all the vm XL, cut in two the column space to separate the numbers from the gb / tb, changed all amounts of GB space and have XL add up the sum of all spaces.

    Hey MKguy, it was indeed your option 1, the RDM

    a command simple cli: Get - VM | Get-hard drive - Disktype "RawPhysical", "RawVirtual" | Select name, DiskType, ScsicannonicalName, DeviceName, Parent, CapacityGB

    has given numbers for all of the ROW and that's the difference between data warehouses, I have seen and all the used vm space :-)

    Thank you very much for your help, much appreciated!

  • Is there a limitation in the size of the payload

    Hi all
    I would like to know if there is any limitation in the payload received in a BPEL/HTTP Post to 11.1.3 SOA process. Our customers say they can send big as payload of 5 MB. Will this be a problem on the side of SOA when the payload is received?
    Concerning
    SHY

    In SOA 10 g we have restrictions on the size of about 9 MB payload, but there is no constraint on the size of the payload in 11 g.

  • Limitations on the external use Apache server

    Hello

    I'll put up a web server for streaming video to the h.264 for ios device format and the flash player.

    I know that I need to the vod with HDS and HLS, and I don't need real stream live recording.

    At this point, I configured my apache server and modules in FMS.

    I talked about this document

    http://help.Adobe.com/en_US/flashmediaserver/configadmin/WSd391de4d9c7bd6093a7e2f8312a374a-1bde - 8000.html #WS565cbb3ff5441e2614fa39ef13121395a10-8000

    It seems works fine now.

    Because I no longer have to use FMS in my environment, what is the limitation I need to concern in terms of the license, performance, etc. ?

    Just point the httpd HLSFmsDirPath and JitFmsDirPath configuration to a place where your "licenses" folder is present. In case. the modules are not able to choose the license, you will not be able to listen to more than 30 minutes of video through HDS - VOD or HLS - VOD...

    Hi all

    I want to up load data from the device to the application server. (via BES)

    Is there a limitation in the size of the data that can be loaded at the top?

    Hello

    as far as I know, they're just the protocols/utils. They help you define the message format, the specification on how you are going to write/read data and tastes. so I think that all this goes down to the http.

  • Estimate of the size of the backup

    Hi Experts,

    Is it possible to calculate the size of RMAN backup.
    Scenario:
    Database is 1.2 TB version 10.2.0.4 on RHEL 4 and had to take a cold backup as its noarchivelog mode.
    I want to know how to calculate the total size of RMAN backup before actually taking to the estimate of the free space on the disk.

    Thank you

    How to estimate the size of a database [1274720.1 ID] RMAN backup

  • With regard to the size of the database

    Hi all

    Sorry for the interruption of you and your time for the clarification.

    The size of my database is:
    Select sum (bytes) / 1024/1024 of dba_data_files;

    SUM (BYTES) / 1024/1024
    --------------------
    19035.0938

    The size used is:
    Select sum (bytes) / 1024/1024 in dba_segments;

    SUM (BYTES) / 1024/1024
    --------------------
    5488.22656

    SUM (BYTES) / 1024/1024
    --------------------

    When I take plenty of RMAN backup I found the size almost 2304 MB (but in dba_segments his ~ 5488), my doubt is how to remove the higherwatermark (HWM) so that I can get exactly space used by database (excluding higher watermark).
