Limitations of re-sign signed the code

Hello

I asked and received my 3 code signing keys. I also installed their and applied to my request.

Now, I found a bug in my application I want to trouble.

Can I update the application and to reuse the same key, or do I need to buy new keys?

If the phone says "Incompatible ALX" - also, does this mean that I am compiling the wrong JDK, or it could mean that they keys are not valid.

Please advise,

Mark

You can sign an (almost) unlimited time with your keys

  • Signature of the .cod with custom key file files

Brand new on-site development of BlackBerry (2 weeks in)-so please forgive me if this is in the wrong place.

I am currently using the CodeSigningKey and the DatabaseFactory.encrypt for an application that I developed that will use a database.

I'm a ControlledAccessException during an attempt of the DatabaseFactory.encrypt with the key that I provided. I think it's because I didn't sign my files with the file ___.key *.cod correctly.

I use sqlitedemo as a guide files, and in the comments he mentioned that I need to create my own pair of public/private key using the administration of BlackBerry signing authority tool - I did. The question I have is when packing my request in the BlackBerry Java plug-in for Eclipse, sign tool is running and said that this particular key file is not saved with a server.

I found documentation on signing here:

    http://docs.BlackBerry.com/en/developers/deliverables/1077/BlackBerry_Signing_Authority_Tool_1.0_-_p...

And this guide mentions that I can use a tool of file signature to sign the *.cod file manually so that I don't have to worry about set up a server, as long as I know the private - key password what I do. Is it still possible to use such a tool? And if so - where could I find one for a Mac environment (I can run on Windows, if necessary (I did to generate the key file), but I prefer to keep everything on a single machine).

If this is not the case - there - it an easy way to configure the server and a better guide illustrating how to put in place the signature tool so that the keys are registered with my server?

Thank you very much for your help

    Hi Mark,

    Thanks for the reply!

While it's an excellent resource it unfortunately not answered my question. Like all other documents that I linked earlier, this resource talks in Task 4, step 2 of:
'Start the application file signatory in the administration of BlackBerry signature tool '.

I had downloaded and installed the BlackBerry Signing Authority tool a few times (it installs really as "BlackBerry password based code signing), but never found dittos application sign. On a whim, I went into the folder, it was installed and just started running all *.exe that I could find. Finally, it is of the 'SigningAuthorityAdmin.exe' and 'SigningAuthority.exe '. The first will create the key, the second is the tool of "file signatory."

Hope that will help everyone in the future that awaits the names is compatible...

Edit: I have not found the Mac environment anywhere... so I assume that there is not.

  • I forgot the password of the Code signing key

Hi, I got the signature key (csk file) by registering on blackberry, but for some reason, I forgot my password... When I try to sign my code it ask me password... I googled a lot to find a way to recover my password, but no avail... Can someone please tell me how to recover my password for the key signature or any other way that i can reset my password... Any kind of help would be appreciated... Thanks in advance...

This is an old thread... but since it's one of the first results in a Google search, I wanted to bring an answer here.

It is not possible to recover your password for BlackBerry Code signing keys.  However, you can choose a new if you reinstall your keys.  The first thing you need to do is to order a new set of keys (free) using the form below.

    https://www.BlackBerry.com/SignedKeys/

Before installing your keys, find and delete the files below that will be present in the various BlackBerry development tools installation directories (location varies by tool).

    sigtool.DB

    sigtool. CSK

    sigtool. Set

You will now be able to install your new CSI files and choose a new password.

This can be caused by trying to sign the same version of the application.  Try incrementing the value of the version property in your config.xml file (or use the command line parameter - buildId) and sign again.

  • Signer of code RIMAPPSA2 unnecessarily required by the signing tool

When I try to connect with the signature tool, it mentions RIMAPPSA2 as a required signatory. This thread

http://supportforums.BlackBerry.com/Rim/Board/message?message.UID=20321 looks like RIMAPPSA2 is required for non-public API signing.

The code that I'm building is however a self-contained generalist (no external dependencies) Java library 1.3 that does not have the BlackBerry platform and does not call any what BlackBerry non-public API (as the package from net.rim.vm. * mentioned in the post).

In addition, the compiler doesn't even issue a warning that a signature is required, as it does for the duration RIM and BlackBerry Apps API.

No idea why this requirement of signatory RIMAPPSA2 arrives unannounced here?

    Thanks for the suggestions!

I realized what was the cause. It turns out that the problem is caused by a persistent native function declaration in one of the classes in the library I've been porting. Remove the native statements got rid of the requirement to sign RIMAPPSA2.

Surprisingly, the compiler didn't warn at all the presence of the native declaration. I had pretty much remove entire packages and source files for the library construction bath until I put on the offending files.

Thanks to the recommendations of RexDoug that I installed on the real device. That has proved to be a good idea. Although the cod file was missing a required signature, error messages that popped up when the application has been loaded were a bit informative.

    It's all too confusing.

We use the Comodo certificate. You can use all the others as long as you end up with a point p12 certificate.

Signing certificate by using the Digital Signature of the code

    http://www.InstantSSL.com/code-signing/index.html

    (1) request you the certificate. I used Internet Explorer on a PC because Comodo says it's better for them.

    (2) they do a thorough credit check to make sure that you are who you claim to be.

    (3) they shall issue a certificate giving you a PIN that he pay back.

    (4) redeem you your PIN certificate and the certificate is in your browser certificate cache.

    (5) you go to the cache and add a personal password for your certificate.

    (6) what makes a dot P12 file file name you choose.

    (7) now you can use your file p12 point with the utilities Adobe XZPSignCmd or ucf.jar to sign your Panel. I use the Mac utilities to sign on a Mac. The point p12 file is good on the PC and Mac.

Don't worry, the utilities they speak about to sign. Adobe has their own utilities ZXPSignCmd and ucf.jar to do the signature. You are forced to timestamp your signature.

  • How do I sign, the file is blocked and options limited registration

I'm trying to sign something.  The pdf file doesn't have an option for the signature.  I looked at a video that says to record something with advanced document.  I don't have this option.  I went to file > save as and my only options are PDF or text.  How to sign the document?

The instructions you found weren't for Adobe Acrobat, Adobe Reader. The creator needs create a signature field and activate the document for users of Reader.

  • Problem signing my COD file

I signed up for the signature code and received 3 *.csi of BB files. I followed all the instructions and saved each CSI file according to the instruction. Each of the 3 files has been saved successfully.

I'm using RIM BlackBerry JDE 4.6.0 and JDK1.6.0.

I have windows vista installed as an operating system.

    I have also NetBeans 6.5.0.

Now in my C:\Program Research In Motion\BlackBerry JDE 4.6.0\bin he following files

    1 sigtool.db

    2 sigtool.csk

Now when I go through SigningTool or JDE to sign my COD file then it shows some files require signature. Now when I click on request or to revoke , and then it displays "Cannot request signatures until this application has been registered with sign all necessary authorities."

Accoding to all the post I have searched on BB forums, you need all these things for the signature, I have and still I am facing the problem. I have even sent to BB Dev Support but still no answer, sound very very slow in response.

Can someone please help me on this...

Thanks for any help in advance!

The lines in sigtool.db of signing authorities three default of RIM should look like this:

    RBB=123456789http\://www.rim.net/Websigner/servlet/BBAppsRRT=555555555http\://www.rim.net/Websigner/servlet/RuntimeRCR=987654321http\://www.rim.net/Websigner/servlet/CryptoRIM

The 123456789, 555555555 and 987654321 are the customer ID under which you are registered with the appropriate signing authorities. Usually, you have the same ID of client for signing authorities three above the RIM.

If you well to activate your. Files CSI (sent by RIM) correctly (your private-public key pair contained in the sigtool.csk has been correctly generated and the public key has been saved with the RIM in the process), then you should be able to manually recreate the sigtool.db. Find an e-mail with the. CSI files and customer ID finds the names of the clips. CSI files. The files are named as follows: customer-RRT -.csi. Then recreate the sigtool.db using the above model and your client code.

  • Problem signing my cod files

    Hello

I have a recent issue with the code signing tools, it continues to run until it crashes and I have to run several times to have my code signed once. I'm working with a colleague on the same project and we have different computers (32/64 bit), so I guess that it is not bound to the system.

    Thank you

The solution is to use the Runtime Java 6 or an earlier version and a 32 b version (I was on JDK 1.7)

    Best regards

  • Avoid to receive three emails whenever I have sign my code?

    Hello

Whenever I have sign my code with the key, I bought the rim, I received 3 emails from [email protected].

    Ex:

"A request completed successfully for the customer"xxxxxxxx"of code signing.  The customer has 2147483577 request (s) to the left.

The customer has returned the following message is displayed:

Is it possible to avoid receiving these emails?

It is actually not the developer who receives these messages, but our buyer who paid for this key... and it annoys a lot.
