Link between swf files.

Hello. I need to find a way to link several .swf files, so I can have a menu and after clicking on a button to go from there to any file swf and return. But I need something that works in AS 2 and 3 because my files are located in the two ActionScripts. It shouldn't be a problem, right? Ive been looking and trying different things, but I can't do it.

I hope someone can help

Thank you.

If this code works then it is probably on the right track to run multiple files.  View the code the try which produces an error and the error as well.

  • links between swf files

    Hi all

    I have (or will have) two Gallery swf files that I would like to link them together. As with most of the flash that I did recently, is following the "classroom in a book" - Chapter 9 goes on connection various pages together using the code below which I have changed to adapt to hopfully with my documents.

    cloud.addEventListener (MouseEvent.CLICK, portfolio_flash_2content);

    function portfolio_flash_2content(myevent:MouseEvent):void {}

    var myURL:URLRequest = new URLRequest ("portfolio_flash_2.swf");

    myLoader.load (myURL); addChild (myLoader); }

    I use a form (cloud) as the trigger on the first page

    the second swf called portfolio_flash_2

    Unlike in the book, I have added this script to the other script that addresses the larger images on my Gallery buttons.

    from the test the page with this script, I get a problem of function over all larger images keep showing instead of stop - I managed to solve most of the problem, but as it's script I need help again once.

    Is there an easier way to link swf files? should my script just unravel or can it be placed in another layer?

    Cheers for any help

    Paul

    You can't interact with a form.  You must convert it to a movieclip, assign it an instance name of 'clouds' via the properties panel, and then your code should work as long as they are all in the same frame (not the same layer, just the same frame).

  • Adobe Flash Professional - link in .swf file?

    Hallo zusammen!

Before as well, den Code dafur usw. habe ich auch hinbekommen.

    Linking to web pages is questionable when you test the swf file.  For best results, you should test using a browser on a web server.

  • Links for .swf files

    is it possible to add a link to a .swf file in Dreamweaver and it have not coded in the FLA file in Flash?

    I think something other keys Flash built into Dreamweaver. Something like a boot image made in Flash if you click it, it opens another page .html. I would like to do in Dreamweaver and not having to use getURL in Flash

  • Odd: CS3 did not properly manage the relative link to swf file. Why?

    When I add a swf file to my model, it will update the pages, but then to write the link incorrectly. While the model said the swf file can be found here: /images/banners/Sales.swf it's not rewrite the link for the pages. So my index page always has the code: ... /images/banners/Sales.swf when it should read images/banners/sales.swf. The link to the JavaScript file is managed by Dreamweaver correctly, then why not the swf file? I missed something in the advanced site settings?

    If you use these things in the templates, you must use relative root.
    not links related document.

    Try this-

    /images/banners/sales.swf

  • Links between .chm files

    I knew I'd be back with a situation. When last I posted, there is while testing the hlp to chm conversion, about three months I had multiple .chms talk to each other. It was then, this is now. After transfer to new versions of help files and doing CHMS for real, I can't get links from one file to the other to work. (The merged TOC and index, however, excellent work.) I repeated the steps I did the first time and discussed again the many posts here on the subject of external links. Here's what I did:

    • Merges the files into the project main table of contents, and then deleted the Scriptures of fusion and merges again just to see if it would help
    • Compiling all CHMS in the SSL folder for the main project
    • Verified that all CHMS are in baggage files
    • Check that the files section merged into the main project of hhp lists only file chm with no path names
    • Update of the main project in MS Help Workshop after merge (I read that you have to do somewhere in the notes from Adobe)
    • None of the chm files have special characters or underscores in their names
    • Deleted and regenerated the master of the project files FPC and hhp
    • Sub-CHMS in the master links seem to be coded correctly with no specific location (example: winexp.chm::/Award_Year_g.htm)

    These are large files with a lot of topics, but they are not mechanically complex. I use 7 HTML HR. What I'm missing here?

    Thank you

    Beth

    Hi, Beth,

    If you don't want to post the URL, you can send me a message through this site private.

    The error message may indicate that you do not have the quite exact link syntax. For example, if your subjects are stored in the subfolders in the target help file, your hyperlinks need account for this. Thus, a typical hyperlink might look like this:

    Click here to see another topic

    To make sure that you specify exactly the track information:

    1. Open the target help file.
    2. Display the required topic.
    3. Right-click and then on the shortcut menu, select Properties.

    In the property sheet that results, you can copy the path out of the address field information and adjust if necessary.

  • Using the link between PDFs on a local PC (not on the web)

    Hello

    I am creating a PDF with links to specific locations on external PDF.

    Web search shows that we can do this by adding pages or named destination for the link.

    My question is made of "binding" between documents on PC work local open in Acrobat (Reader) recovered himself, instead of the documents on the web and the web browser via the plug-in?

    One related answer on thread on another forum (creation of a link to a pdf to mark an another pdf - Adobe Acrobat Windows) indicates that this feature works only when the PDF file is retrieved from a web server.

    If this does not work, could someone explain the technical background?

    My client wants to use the link between the files on the PC, so I need to make my client to know why it won't work.

    Thank you.

    I think that the page you found makes it more complicated, not less. In my view, in part because there are several different problems mixed with each other.

    The easiest way to post a link to a page in another PDF file is EXACTLY the same as link to a page in the same PDF: just create a link to GO to the VIEW. It's obvious only when we know, so people often end up with alternatives that are unnecessarily complicated.

    Named destinations are complicated, but they are good if you may need to change the target file and the file source link in the right place, even if it's another page. They need careful planning and a systematic approach.

  • Problem with loading external swf files

    Hello

    I am currently working on a project which is an interactive and dynamic elemtry school presentation to the Denmark. I finished my project and it works perfectly, but only locally on my computer.

    The final draft should be implemented on the site and public work. I tried to implement the project on the site and unfortunately, it does not work as expected.

    When all the files where transferred to the ftp server, only a single files are responding and appear correctly.

    Interactivity of the project is based on a structure of Action script, which is based on the smooth transition between swf files (load another swf file after the action is triggered by clicking on a button) do any work.

    After days of trying to figure out the solution, I'm totally lost. One thing is to publish the project so that all action script will work and answer between swf files, and the other thing is to make it user-friendly for the Android and apple products.

    The presentation is quite heavy because of its loading external swf content files, which are images and movies.

    I really hope you can help me with my problem. I will gladly share the files and codes if it would help solve the problem.

    Best regards

    Agata

    It could be a problem of location of file from loading.  When you place a swf file in an HTML base for targeting anything that the SWF load becomes the folder of the html page.  You may need to adjust the target so that the target of swf files, load it as if it were in the same folder as the html page.

  • Maintaining links between PDFs converted from source (Word) files

    Hello

    If I have two Word files and manage the links between them (hyperlink on one specific bookmark on the other), is there a way to easily remember (or reproduce) these links on PDF files converted from Word files?

    Here's what I've tested so far.

    -On the source file, the format of the hyperlink is "{filename} .docx #{bookmarkname}. I changed the extension of docx to pdf.

    -Source/target to convert Word files to PDF format.

    -The hyperlink on the converted source PDF is in the format "file:///{targetpath}/{targetfile}%23{bookmarkname"}

    -When I click on the hyperlink on the converted source PDF, security warning pops up with "this document tries to connect to...". »

    -If I click on 'Allow' on the pop-up, the web browser opens with "cannot display this page" error. "

    I guess that by using the hyperlink is not a viable solution. If the links do not work, do the following manually?

    - source file Word, remove all hypertext links (because they do not work on PDF even when)

    -convert files to PDF format

    -on target of PDF, the value named destinations on the points corresponding to Favorites

    -on the source PDF, find points corresponding to hyperlinks and define the links to destinations named on target PDF.

    (Actually the situation is more complicated because files are shared at the chapter level and they should be merged for each new version.)

    If there is a simpler method to achieve this, I would appreciate your help.

    That's why your problems... You use the PDFMaker plugin, IE the Acrobat Ribbon.

  • How can I tell where a .swf file is linking in with the submit button?

    Recently, I was hired as a graphic designer and administrator of the site to a local company. Now, everything was working fine until my employer has changed some settings with our FTP. All our "Customizer" on our Web site - which are .swf files - is more work.

    What I discovered is this: when a customer clicks on the button 'submit', the 'page' are they sent to? The information they type in what are to be sent to an e-mail address, but I can't find any of these settings in the .fla files on our server of the company.

    Once I know where they establish between, I can change this path or make sure that the path exists as it appears in the settings of these customizer .swf files.

    Any help that anyone can provide would be much appreciated! I don't have much experience with this program, or flash in general, but I understand the basics. I've spent most of my work day (8 hours) full trying to understand this point, and the end of my Friday draws to a close, I hope I don't spend another week to try to resolve this - a week where customers can customize their products on our website!

    Open the problem page in your web browser and press F12 to bring up the developer tools. Select the network tab (this is for Firefox or IE; in IE you need to click the green arrow to enable logging). When you click on send, it should display the address that the SWF file attempts to access.

  • Establishing a socket connection between a .swf file and a current-test program (TCP/IP generator - Windows), in AS3.

    I have a problem with a college project, I'm trying.

    Using Actionscript 3, I did a program simple .swf, a smiley face, lively and interactive, which "reacts" number entered in an input box.

    For purposes of this project, I now do the framework for establishing a connection socket with the smiley .swf and another program.

    That's where I run into problems. I have very little knowledge of the AS3 programming, so I'm not sure how the connection - what is required for it, it is.

    To test the connection, I try to use the "TCP/IP builder" program for windows, which allows me to set up a server socket. I need to program the .swf file into a client - to recognize, connect to it, then be able to receive data (so that data then allows for the smiley "react" him--like how he does now with the input-box, 'automatically' as it gets the data, rather than by manual input).

    My attempts at codification it are as follows, with the help of a tutorial (link HERE):

    INSERT HERE THE SOCKET STUFF

    //****************************************************************

    var socket:XMLSocket;

    Stadium. addEventListener () MouseEvent. ( CLICK, doConnect ();

    It connects to the local port, 9001 and applies event listeners

    ( function doConnect ()evt:MouseEvent():void

    {

    Stadium. removeEventListener () MouseEvent. ( CLICK, doConnect ();

    socket = new XMLSocket()'127.0.0.1', 9001);

    outlet. addEventListener () Event. ( CONNECT, onConnect();

    outlet. addEventListener () IOErrorEvent. ( IO_ERROR, onError ();

    }

    This locates the connection (allows us to see what has happened or failed)

    function onConnect () evt:Event():void

    {

    trace ("Connected"();

    outlet. removeEventListener () Event. ( CONNECT, onConnect();

    outlet. removeEventListener () IOErrorEvent. ( IO_ERROR, onError ();

    outlet. addEventListener () DataEvent. ( DATA, onDataReceived ();

    outlet. addEventListener () Event. ( NARROW, onSocketClose ();

    Stadium. addEventListener () KeyboardEvent. ( KEY_UP, keyUp ();

    }

    ( function onError() evt:IOErrorEvent():void

    {

    trace ()"Login failed"();

    outlet. removeEventListener () Event. ( CONNECT, onConnect();

    outlet. removeEventListener () IOErrorEvent. ( IO_ERROR, onError ();

    Stadium. addEventListener () MouseEvent. ( CLICK, doConnect ();

    }

    Here, the flash titles what keyboard key.

    If you press 'q', the connection ends.

    ( function keyUp() evt:KeyboardEvent():void

    {

    if (evt. ( keyCode == 81( ) / / key for q code is 81

    {

    outlet. Send ("exit");

    }

    on the other

    {

    outlet. Send (evt. keyCode );

    }

    }

    It must manage the data that we get from the server.

    ( function onDataReceived ()evt:DataEvent():void

    {

    try {

    trace ()"Server:", evt. data );

    }

    catch (e:Error) {

    trace ('error');

    }

    }

    ( function onSocketClose ()evt:Event():void

    {

    trace ()"Closed connection"();

    Stadium. removeEventListener () KeyboardEvent. ( KEY_UP, keyUp ();

    outlet. removeEventListener () Event. ( NARROW, onSocketClose ();

    outlet. removeEventListener () DataEvent. ( DATA, onDataReceived ();

    Try to connect to the Jack gives me no result (other than a "Connection failed" message when I click the .swf) or the following error message:

    127.0.0.1 could be supported through your HTTP software, I'm not familiar with the tool you are using. It could also have been show in your hosts file (in Windows you will find here: C:\Windows\System32\drivers\etc). Check to see if something is the substitution of 127.0.0.1 (local loop).

    Apart from that, I've given you source to a rapid AIR server that has just opened a listener to 127.0.0.1:8910 so you would need no other tools to test the client, even if you have a. I just include the source and a product AIR installer so you can reproduce them to see that I do anything malicious. The Server.air file must be "installed" to test it. When you double-click it, it is a Setup. He moved to C:\Program Files (x 86) \Server (should have called something less common in hindsight). It also has a checkbox to run it after installation. If you don't you will see the server pop up a standard window of 550 x 400 with a text inside the box there letting you know that it is listening. Everything connects, messages (channels) and disconnects the will displayed in the Server text box.

    The customer is the only SWF file, you must run, after 'something' listening on the IP address and port configure you with.

    Here is a picture to show you the server is not running in the same folder the SWF did, tell the server and it only run the client exactly how I should it look like all together:

    I'll show you that after running the Server.air Installer, here is the the path of the executable file is running from and the client SWF isn't here. No problem connecting despite being in different places.

    The server is running and says that it is listening on 8910. Feel free to modify the source and reproduce for a different IP/port.

    -J' open the Client.FLA and just run. It creates a new socket, add headphones, connects to 127.0.0.1:8910.

    -The server responds that he sees and accepts the client connection. The server sends a message "connected." (10 bytes) to the customer immediately.

    -The client receives data (String), he draws. The customer sniffs for this specific message, and then sends the server a string "thanks for the connection!

    -The server receives and is coded only to echo the string in the "Echo - thank you to connect!" back to check that the chain is correct.

    -The customer receives the echo of servers (30 bytes), he draws.

  • How can I associate between pdf files - so that the links work for all users.

    I have created a digital book with pdf files for each chapter and index individual (the files are too large to combine them into 1 pdf). I'll create links between the chapter titles in the index to each chapter (pdf). It works on my system, but the links do not work if I provide to someone else. Obviously, the link is the search of my ' computer / my account / my file ', and that the files are open on another system it cannot find them. There got to be a simple solution... somebody put me out of my misery please!

    Thanks in advance.

    You should only use this type of action for non-PDFs. For the links to the PDF format, use the type "go to a page view.

  • How do add you a link to a .swf file?

    Is it possible to add a link/URL to a file .swf without incorporation in the original .fla file?

    Is it possible to do with just one .swf file and without actually modify the .fla or recreate?

    I don't provide lessons, but here, it is essential... to load the other using AS3 swf file, you will use code like the following in the main timeline...

    var my_loader:Loader = new Loader();
    my_loader. Load (new URLRequest ("theOther.swf"));
    addChild (my_loader);

    addChild (myBtn); / / described then but code here

    To add a link, you can create an invisible button and as much as you like in the timeline, or if there is a text link you can assign the link to the object dynamic textfield via the properties panel.  To create an invisible button it just create a button symbol and draw a shape for him than in his empty box Hit, leaving all others... elsewhere, we can still see the button to work with him on the stage, but it will be invisible when the file is read.  You may also have the button include neither text nor any other Visual you want if you don't no need/want it to be invisible.

    If you use the approach of button, then you must assign the button an instance name (I use 'myBtn' for this example) then you need to assign a listener of events and event handler for the button function...

    myBtn.addEventListener (MouseEvent.CLICK, clickBtn);

    function clickBtn(evt:MouseEvent):void {}

    navigateToURL (new URLRequest ("http://www.yourlinksurl.com/etc"));

    }

    The reason why I addChild for myBtn after I addChild charger is so that it will sit above the charger.  Without this line, the charger would be the loaded swf sitting on the button blocks access to it.

    If you plan to use a Textfield instead of a button, then you don't need the event code but you should always line addChild() to bring it to the front.  As already said you can connect via the properties panel for a link field.  To make life simple by these instructions just assign the textfield an instance name of myBtn.

  • Link to the file SWF or HTML for LMS?

    Hello

    Is someone can you please tell me how can I create a link to the LMS captivate file.  Is it better to link the SWF or HTML file (or in this case, the full-screen HTML file)?

    I would also appreciate it if you could tell me why a single file is best either to link to LMS.

    Thank you

    Justin

    Hi Justin

    I'm hopeful Rod Ward or Lilybiri will jump to offer more. But I understand that you really don't "bind" to what either of the LMS. The LMS is like a large database. You download your Captivate content in the LMS. The end user connects in the LMS and LMS, then presents the Captivate you downloaded on it.

    In General, if you had no LMS and were upload Captivate content on the web, you want to download all the output files (.) HTM. JS and. SWF) and then provide a link to the HTM file. The HTM file has sizing instructions presenting the SWF to the right size. In a situation of LMS HTM and JS files have additional code that allows the Captivate feed results to the LMS by establishing a conversation.

When I tried to export more, I got a warning that it exceeded the 16 images of k I figured out how to work around that. But now I need to integrate the two sovereign wealth funds. If I take the smallest and import it into the largest one as a new scene that will blow up my ability to export again? Can I create a link between two separate swf using some sort of function gotoAndPlay? What are my options here? Any help is appreciated. Thank you.

    No, you can't do this or you go over your limit of 16 k images.

    I mean LOAD a swf into another using actionscript.  you will use a class movieclip or moviecliploader in as2 or loader in as3 class.
