Link of the file luggage to the webhelp navigation pane

Like many HR users, I have printed output and line output. To render accessible printed output, I add a navigation button to my webhelp skin which opens the PDF version of the user guide. I use the baggage files to reference the PDF in HR.
When this button is clicked, the web browser is frozen forever. Only solution is to kill ieexplorer.exe.
When I look at my output pdf files is there but here's the jerk: there are two PDF files: 'Nomdefichier.pdf' with 0 bytes and "FileName_ns.pdf" which is the file that opens.
only temporary solution is to go to HR server, delete "Nomdefichier.pdf" make a copy of "FileName_ns.pdf" and rename that copy to "Nomdefichier.pdf". Indeed, "FileName_ns.pdf" is indelible.
Another possibility is to link the button to the html file that would redirect to the PDF file.
None of these solutions solve the underlying problem, but...
Any ideas?
Thank you.

I have now reviewed the project and identified the problem.

You always spoke to the file being created as _ns.pdf. It's actually _nc.pdf.

After several attempts, I generated an exit without a skin. Problem stopped.

Then, I created a new skin and a button for the PDF, still no problem.

Then I looked at your button and noticed that it points to a PDF\UserGuideAmadeus.pdf file while the file name is PDF\userguideamadeus.pdf. Note the different cases.

I think what is happening are HR notes the different cases and that he wants to create a file with the corrected case. On a computer with Windows that would not be possible so it adds _nc for name change.

Well the button on your skin and the problem should go away.

  • RH10 - WebHelp links to PDF files stop working when WebHelp is generated.

    RH10 - after generation to WebHelp links to PDF files do not work. If I saw the topic in HR, the file will open and display. HR project reports any broken links. If I have a link to the file again, the file will be imported in HR and overwrite the file that already exists.  If I do one generate and display in my office cannot find the files of a hyperlink.   If I do a primary mode, the files could not be found in FireFox. Had too many problems with IE10 so I stopped using it.

    I've never had this happen before with any version of RoboHelp. Please help me.

    Ahhhh, you did not say that it did not work once you have copied the files on the server. That's a horse of a very different hue!

    Okay, so if it's the WebHelp on the server, you have problems with, here's what to check.

    Are the files that you are linking to really there? They cannot be. What are the baggage files for. You may need to add the files that you link to the list of files so that they are between the release of baggage.

    If the files are there, the server can be a flavor of UNIX. In this case, you will need to check the naming conventions. If the file name is SomeFile.PdF, and your link says SOMEFILE. PDF (or another variant of case) links fails on a UNIX UNIX server being very picky about file names.

  • Windows Explorer expands inappropriate files, the folder that develop you to the bottom of the jump navigation pane

    When you use a left-hand Navigation pane, if there is enough of folders in the navigation pane as you have a vertical scroll bar, if you click on a folder with the mouse (to see supported in the right pane), and then expand the folder (either by clicking on the symbol + or with the arrow key) , then the left pane automatically scrolls upward as far as possible such as the folder you expanded is yet in sight at the bottom of the pane. This command deletes the folder under the mouse, where it should stay.

    This is certainly a bug, as it only happens the first time you try to extend a record of the way. After having done it once, you can scroll the navigation (left) pane so that the file in question is back in the middle of the pane, and it will expand and contract as expected, remaining under the mouse.

    Because many people seem interested in this question, I'll post some info about my recent contact with Microsoft about this issue.

    It seems that everywhere where this issue has been spoken, all someone would get to a Microsoft employee was a response to "Thank you for your comments" mat. Never the validity of the issue has been discussed or even acknowledged. I decided to write an e-mail to the responsible man, Steve Ballmer, clearly the problem with links to a procedure step by step problem, this discussion and report bug with 220 votes (at the time). I realized that Steve would never read himself, but I thought that his email should get automatically transferred to a person who can actually read.
    Two days later I received an email from a specialist in defense of Microsoft saying a "case of grace" was created and the escalation of Windows team should get in touch with me. The next day, an engineer of the climbing sent ask when would be the right time to talk about issues on the phone. So it would be quite clear with what I was talking about, I've recorded a screencast walking through that was precisely the problem.
    Edit: I made a video more condensed showing the "record jump bug", see here.
    This has resulted in our discussions:
    1. engineers are aware of this problem.
    2. they may, or may not provide a fix for it.
    Nothing revolutionary, but it's a little more push in the right direction. In my opinion, post in this thread on the problem has practically no value. I suggest you:
    1 vote upward and commenting on the bug here:
    He said that the site is being monitored by the dev team.
    2. writing intelligent and without rudeness complaints that mention how the bug affects negatively your workflow file management every day. Send these to the top of the food chain of Microsoft until you get an answer. You are a paying customer and you deserve to be heard.
    I'm tired of dealing with him, so now use XYplorer when you perform heavy file management. It stings to have to pay for a decent file manager, but that's life. If this question bothers you at all, please comment and vote on the bugand write an email.
    13/09/11 PATCH: Bug is still present in Windows 8 Developer Preview, see here.
    01/30/12 UPDATE: Finally, we have a public recognition that this is actually a bug that needs to be addressed, and it will be apparently fixed in Windows 8 beta coming. It's good news, but I know I'll use Win7 for at least a year or two, as will be much, much more. We deserve a patch for this problem in Win7. Until that happens, keep Microsoft listening to this topic.
    FINAL THOUGHTS: It is a real bug with 645
    ! votes on their feedback page, however MS didn't intend to fix for Windows 7 users. The bug is fixed in Windows 8, which means nothing to many of us who do not intend to upgrade. If this bug really gets under the skin, I suggest to install the classic interface, which has been recommended several times in this thread. You can choose to install only the feature "Classic Explorer" which corrects this bug among others and even remember the old UI for copy of file which is so nice to have in return. I used it for many months now without worries.
    In addition, for those of you who think that they find a solution to this problem by changing just a few parameters options somewhere... Thank you for your desire to help each of us, but you do not have the same problem and please do not post here your 'solution '. If you read some of the 29 pages of this thread, you will see that all the imaginable solutions has been suggested. There is a bug in the browser itself. If you are using Windows 7 and plan to continue using it, your options are 1) use the classic interface, or 2) use a third-party files, such as XYplorermanagement tool. If you stumble across this thread because you noticed this bug, please vote for the bugand make 1 or 2.
  • Change the color of 1 link of the Bootstrap navigation bar

    Hello

    I am eager to pass the roll of color of a link in the navigation bar of bootraps.

    I tried a class on this subject... no luck... I can change all the nav bar color... but I just want a roll of color of the item...

    All thoughts

    PAL

    Place the following in your custom stylesheet (do not touch the stylesheet (s)) original of Bootstrap

    .NavBar - default .navbar-nav > li > a: hover, .navbar - default .navbar-nav > li > a: focus {}

    background-color: #FFFF00;

    color: #FFC0CB;

    }

    This assumes that you have deployed the default navigation bar. If you use a different class, also adjust the colors to suit.

  • Send feedback link in the top navigation of webhelp bar, can be done?

    RH8 HTML

    Hi all

    I tried to add a button to the top of page nav of webhelp, I want the button to send an email to me, with a specified subject line and I hope the url or title of the topic the user looks at.

    I want the users to be mean, look in my webhelp, find a page, click on the Feedback button, start outlook, or whether using the mailto function, I want to add the title of the topic they watch so I can see what they are speaking.

    Did anyone done something like this before?

    Can it be done using JS.

    I found this code, I added a new element of custom in the Javascript section toolbar, but so far it does not.

    < script >
    u = window.location;
    m = 'Feedback ';
    function mailThisUrl() {}
    window.location = ' mailto: . [email protected] '+ document. Mailer.Address.Value + "? subject =" + m + "& body =" + document.title + "" + u; ' "
    }
    < /script >

    any help is greatly appreciated!

  • Hi, is there a way to show, updated date in the box of the webhelp navigation bar?

    Hi, is there a way to show the last update in the region of webhelp breadcrumb in Robohelp 10?

    Please see the image below. I tried to do and I can do that if I add this date to the logo... But I don't want the date to

    displayed with the logo. The last update can be shown above the search bar? (as marked in the image below)?

    robohelp.png

    Hello again

    A thought occurs here on a few ways to do this easily.

    Both methods require creating images.

    A possible solution would be to create an image where the date is embedded directly in the image. Can use this image as a background to the banner area.

    The other possible way would be to create an image that would be used as a toolbar button. The button wouldn't actually DO anything when you click it, but would simply provide the revision date.

  • Any way to put the right WebHelp navigation pane?

    I produce WebHelps located in around 30 languages, including Arabic and Hebrew, generating help with RH7.

    My workaround to get the right orientation on the left seems to produce "acceptable" results, except our testers suggest that the navigation for the Arabic and Hebrew pane should be right too. I have not been able to figure out how do it.

    Any suggestions?

    Best to perfect huh?

    In whihost.js on line 317, replace ' window._event.pageX = oMatch.offsetLeft;' in ' window._event.pageX = oMatch.offsetRight; »

    In whibody.htm on line 162, replace ' nPosX = window.event.srcElement.offsetLeft + window.event.srcElement.offsetWidth - document.body.scrollLeft; 'to' nPosX = window.event.srcElement.offsetRight + window.event.srcElement.offsetWidth - document.body.scrollRight; '

  • Can I turn off the navigation pane in the HTML help permanently?

    My company has a web application on the MicroStrategy platform.

    I created a WebHelp customized to replace the out of the box using MicroStrategy and which works very well.

    We develop the MicroStrategy Office add-in for Excel for our customers.

    Once installed, a CHM file is copied to the client's hard drive.

    We want to replace this with our own custom help.

    I created a CHM file with a subject that redirects clients to our WebHelp customzied with content for the add-in.

    One of the subjects has a redirect in the header HTML following code:

    < meta http-equiv = "refresh" content = "0; URL =https://customhelp.htm#AddIn_Introduction.htm"/ > "

    That works very well in my tests.

    Here's my problem...

    The HTML Help Viewer opens and hides the Navigation pane and displays the WebHelp (navigation pane, the menu bar and topic pane) automatically.

    But, the HTML Help Viewer still has the hide/show/hide button for HTML Help navigation pane.

    Is it possible to disable this hide or let it stand, but turn off the navigation pane?

    As always, any help would be appreciated.

    Thank you-

    Michael F Weart

    You should be able to disable in the settings of the window. Make sure that you uncheck the boxes search and Glossary before you uncheck the Index checkbox & OCD. (My quick test seemed to honor these settings, even when they are grey)

  • Change the color of the navigation pane

    Hello

    Is it possible to change the color of the only navigation pane? I don't know of the background image.  I take the floor on the region that contains the <- and -> buttons.  I wish it were different from the toolbar (containing materials, indexes, buttons etc.).

    It seems that take the color/image of the toolbar.

  • Value formatting in the guided Navigation

    Hello

    I was not able to find it on my own, so I thought I would ask the community.

    Does anyone know if there is a way to configure the value formatting for an attribute in the guided Navigation?

    In my case we have digital and long values, but because they are numbers or codes, a delimiter is not wanted for these values.

    However, we do not want just the format of the values as strings to keep the formatting because it is also necessary to use a filter of the range on these values, which won't work on strings.

    Someone at - it ideas around that?

    Thank you!

    Assuming you're talking about 3.0, and then on the guided Navigation pane, the value uses formatting configured for this attribute in the display manager.

    See the next section of the User Guide for the Studio.

    Configure the default display for an attribute format
