Link to files via the relative path?

It seems that Captivate is only able to connect to external files via absolute links. In other words, when I create a click box that opens a file and select a file that is located on my development machine, the project will always look this file on my hard drive, even once it is posted on the Web. It's extremely frustrating, and I have not found a work around.

Please help me identify a way to bind using a relative path. In other words, the project will solve it is the current residence and search for content in the directory, it lies in or specified directories under this location. It is the only way that you can create a project that can run successfully during the validation. Captivate already done this, when you create a click box that opens another project, so there MUST be a way to do when opening project files!

Help, please!

Thank you
Dan Roberts

You, Mr President, is a scholar and a gentleman!

According to the agreements that you have described, I was able to create workable links. This should be widely published, I'm sure that many other authors is on the same problem.

Note to Adobe: the ability to create relative links should be inside the product option, as in most of the other products I've used.

  • Is CFFILE read uses only the absolute path or the relative path too?

    I use cffile read access to my file to json. I would like to know if the cffile uses only absolute or relative path too? If I tried to use the relative path, it kept send me errors on non-existent file.

    Read what I posted on the documentation. CFFILE read must be an absolute path. If you use a path relative to its parent to the CF temp folder:

    If not an absolute path (starting with a drive letter and a colon or a slash to advance or back), it is relative to the ColdFusion temporary directory, which is returned by the GetTempDirectory function.

    There is no relative path from your web files. IF you just put a relative path, it will attempt in the CWS for the file temp folder.

  • How to set the relative path for referrals?

    Hello

    I use FDK.

    I'm trying to work with cross references and I have the problem with the path name < XRefSrcFile >. Every time when I started using F_ApiSetString, it 's defined as an absolute path and I need to put it in the relative path.

    Someone has an idea how solve it?

    Kate

    Kate,

    I can't reproduce this behavior. When I have defined XRefFile as an absolute path, then save under MIFID, I see a path relative to the MIFID. The exception is if I specify an invalid path, FrameMaker retains the absolute path. I don't know what to say beyond that. Are you sure you set a valid path to a file?

  • create tablespace with giving the relative path

    On Unix, use the korn shell, you could try something like this:

    #!/bin/ksh

    REL_PATH="\myrelativeFolder\indx01.dbf"

    sqlplus $ORA_USER/$ORA_PSWD@$ORACLE_SID << EOF > $LOGFILE
    declare
      v_Path varchar2(50) := '${REL_PATH}';

    begin
      execute immediate 'CREATE TABLESPACE "INDX" BLOCKSIZE 8192 DATAFILE ' || v_Path || ' SIZE 2604M
                         AUTOEXTEND ON NEXT 10485760 MAXSIZE 32767M EXTENT MANAGEMENT LOCAL

  • How to add records to a file via the file adapter.

    Hi all
    How to add records to a file via the file adapter.

    I must read data from the database and need to add all the records in a file.

    Thanks in advance.

    Hello

    I think you have a while loop to hit the DB in your process (as you said you need to extract data from DB 10 times if 1000 rec is here)
    First sopy your DB O/P to a var
    and second time add to previous data. (Otherwise you can directly use Add to start instead of copy and add)
    When the loop ends, you can turn to the file adapter Var.

    Otherwise, you can configure yourFileadapter as it will be aapend current recordings for previous records.

    You can use 'Append = true' in your adapter wsdl file.
    It will add the previous records to existing records in the same file.

  • Name of the PDF file is the full path

    I went out a report to PDF format and its all working fine except for one thing and is the name of the pdf file is the full path to the file instead of just the name of the file. This is the code I use in the cfdocument tag:

    "< cfdocument format ="pdf"filename="#request.baseRefTempFile#\#form.collectorLongName#_AssignedSamples.pdf ".
    fontembed = "yes" overwrite = "yes" saveasname = "" #form.collectorLongName #_AssignedSamples.pdf "scale ="100">"

    Request.basereftempfile is a variable that points to the folder where the pdf file is saved. His record it correctly. It's just the filename is the full path, but it omits the reduced directory and replaces them with underscores.

    Any help would be appreciated. Thank you very much

    I am currently using the same method and of the labour code is below. I do not use the saveasname. Have you tried without?

  • Player fails to link to the HTML file with the relative file specification.

    I use a PC running Win XP and Adobe Reader 9.3.4

    Adobe Reader says that it cannot find a file even if it gives the correct path and spec in the error message?

    In LaTeX, I use the hyperref package to produce a pdf document called pratiques.pdf

    \usepackage[pdftex]{hyperref}

    This works...

    CASE 1) my pratiques.pdf contains the following statement.

    \mbox{\href{run:./answers.html}{\Huge\textcolor{magenta}{$\bigstar$}}}solutions

    The agreement of file and directory is...

    /foobar/questions.PDF
    /foobar/answers.html

    The user clicks on pratiques.pdf, then within this pdf document when the user clicks on the magenta Star (link), answers.html starts in the browser. Perfect!

    It does not work...

    CASE 2) my pratiques.pdf contains the following statement. This time answers.html is located in a subdirectory from questions.html

    \mbox{\href{run:./exercise1/answers.html}{\Huge\textcolor{magenta}{$\bigstar$}}}solutions

    The agreement of file and directory is...

    /foobar/questions.PDF
    /foobar/exercise1/answers.html

    The user clicks on pratiques.pdf, then in this pdf document, when the user clicks on the magenta Star (link), answers.html cannot be found.

    Frustrating is that Adobe Reader allows the specification of OK in the error message file when he says that it cannot find the file! ??

    I tried enclosing the specification of file within various quotes etc, but I just can't get this relative file specification to find the HTML file. I wish it works so I can apply a structure for the structures of files for this work.

    Any help much appreciated.

    Kind regards

    Reader 9.3.4 cannot open files in sub directories (and all other directories), but if you move the files to the same directory where the pdf file is, they can be opened. Other people in the forums has encountered the same problem)

    ( http://forums.adobe.com/thread/714892?tstart=0). I guess everyone will meet the problem when they click links in a pdf document that point to files in other directories. 9.3.3 seems do not have the problem.

  • How to read the .txt adfLib pot file to the model layer by using the relative path

    Hello

    In my application, I use the ExtendedDynamicFldTbl (extends weblogic.wtc.jatmi.DynamicFldTbl), which the manufacturer requires the field file path table as a parameter.

    In the API, it is said that this name of path can be an absolute path, a relative path to the directory where Java has started, or a relative path that can be found as a resource on the classpath.

    I have created this ExtendedDynamicFldTbl to the model layer project, placed the fild_tbl.txt in a separate package and pass the path relative to the DynamicFldTbl constructor.

    Given my code below to get the instance of ExtendedDynamicFldTbl
    package model.tuxedo;

    public class ExtendedFldTbl  extends DynamicFldTbl
    {

        private static ExtendedFldTbl extendedFldTblinstance = null;

        public ExtendedFldTbl(String tablePath, boolean flag)
        {
            super(tablePath, flag);
        }

        public static ExtendedFldTbl getInstance()
        {
            if (extendedFldTblInstance == null)
            {
                URL url = extendedFldTblInstance.class.getResource("resource/fldtbl.txt");
                if (url == null)
                {
                    throw new RuntimeException("Tuxedo Service : fldtbl.txt is not found in the path 'model.tuxedo.resource' ");
                }
                extendedFldTblInstance = new ExtendedFldTbl (url.getPath(), true);
                String[] list = extendedFldTblInstance .getFldNames();
                System.err.println("fldtbl loaded. Total FML entries loaded = " + list.length);
            }
            return extendedFldTblInstance ;
        }
    }
    I just added the output of the build of the layer model to view the project of the layer and tested. It works fine and I am able to get the ExtendedFldTbl instance with all loaded fields. But rather than add dependencies, if I create an adfLibJar for the layer model project and you add to view the project of the layer, it does not work. It is not ablt to read the file of adf lib jar file.

    Issues related to the:

    1. How can I solve this?
    2. Although I have kept the field text file table in the source of the project itself, when I read the url, it is
    "C:/Documents and Settings/raguramanv/Application Data/JDeveloper/system11.1.1.4.37.59.23/DefaultDomain/servers/DefaultServer/tmp/_WL_user/SampleWtc/3gkmt9/war/WEB-INF/lib/SampleWtc_Model_adflibSampleWtc1.jar!/model/tuxedo/resource/fldtbl.txt"
    Instead of the physical directory, how can I use application in model layer context?

    Thanks in advance

    Hello

    Try /adf/ or /afr/ in the URL. Then includes the ADF resource loader which is used to get the contents of a lib of the ADF. Take a look at the structure of ADF library where the file is located in. It should be in a directory with /adf in the folder structure

  • TestStand API: Define the relative path

    Dear community NOR!

    Could someone, please, with the following - is there an option to set the path to code modules, within the test sequence, to have a relative path, but not absolute? I add programmatically in code modules to the steps of the sequence, but currently, they have an absolute path. Is it possible to change it to relative with TestStand API?

    Thanks in advance.

    I was wrong. It is possible to manually cut path to the file (TestStand directories search function). Then, will add the modules of code with relative paths. But be careful - path should be cut properly.

    For example, I have the full path

    E:\Development\source code\supplementary\TestVIs\ Code Modules\Service\Print.vi

    My search directory is

    E:\Development\source code\supplementary\TestVIs\

    So, I need to cut like this:

    Code Modules\Service\Print.vi

    and without a bar slash at the beginning!

    Then it will be OK.

  • Approach to analyze the large number of XML files in the relational table.

    We are studying the possibility of XML DB to treat a large number of files from same day.
    The goal is to parse the XML file and store it in several relational tables. Once in the relational table don't care us about the XML file.
    The file cannot be stored on the file server and must be stored in a table before analysing because of security concerns. A third-party system will send the file and it will store in the XML database.
    The file size can be between 1 MB to 50MB and high performance is very that much is expected of other wise men, that the solution will be discarded.

  • Home network with 2 PC with Windows 7 and 1 PC Windows XP. When sharing files via the MSHome network I have permission errors. How can I solve this?

    original title: cannot open or copy some files within the home network

    I have a home network that are connected by a router.

    A (main) pc is connected via a cable to a router on Windows XP pro sp3.
    2 other laptops running Windows 7 connected via Wifi.

    All of them configured to work with the workgroup MSHOME.
    On the pc main (with XP), I have a folder shared with full access, including change files. The folder contains videos that are uploaded directly to it.

    Sometimes 2 other laptops can not access some files, they see them but can't open them or copy them, I get this error:
    http://S3.PostImage.org/623foisor/image.PNG

    If I do the following:
    On my main pc I move the movie file in this folder to another folder and then bad bring it back.
    The file can be accessed and copied!

    What's wrong?!

    I'm glad that you guessed it work.

    Permissions show that "Everyone" has full access inherited, so that the list must have been made after that you have added everyone.  "Everyone" in this list without a guest user (or any user if you have active Simple file sharing) would not have permissions on this folder.

  • "documents.library - ms" is no longer work error message displayed when you try to access files via the file browser, why?

    I bought a computer window 8 in February of this year.  I use a lot of Word and Excel documents.  I don't know how I got hurt, but now I get the above error message.  Please someone know how to fix this?

    Hello

    I understand that you are getting the error documents. Library-ms' no longer works, when you try to access the files in the file Explorer.

    You can try the following method and check if that helps resolve the issue.

    Method 1: delete the document library.

    a. press the Windows key + E from the start screen.

    b. click on document library.

    c. Select Remove.

    d. click on Yes when it asks confirmation.

    Note: deleting of a library does not delete the contents of the included folders. However, you need to add or include your folders manually, if necessary.

    Method 2: you can follow the procedure to restore libraries.

    a. press the Windows key + E.

    b. right-click on the library.

    c. click on restore default library.

    You can check the link for more information.
