Linksys WRT54G2 - no internet.

You are connected to the access point, but no internet is.

[IMG] http://i179.photobucket.com/albums/w282/x_trippy_x/fAIL.jpg [line]

I have a WRT54G2. Modem--> router--> computer (wired connection)

. --> Computer (wireless)

The wired one works fine, I also have my wii connected via WiFi and it works fine. But I recently reinstalled my windows and now when I try to connect it says I can but not internet. It happened to my cousin while he was trying to connect with his laptop.

Computers running xp, the wireframe is sp3 and the wireless is currently sp2 (new installation).

No one knows how to fix?

I started the 'Wireless zero configuration' how I relised that I had been putting my key wpa lowercase when it should have been capitalized.

Case sensitive was the problem :/

    Hello

I connected my linksys wrt54g2 v1 connect to the LAN router and the WiFi worked perfectly well. Two days there was a problem with the connection to the local network and finally he solved. Now when I connect my router wireless to the LAN, the ssid is listed and when I connect to the WI - FI connection, see an error message saying "no internet access. Could someone help me solve this problem?

Note: I have reset the router and changed the necessary configurations, but it still does not work.

    Thank you!

Hi varun_umesh. It is obvious that the router is no longer communicates with the modem. Try to power cycle first two devices. Once the power supply light is good on the modem and the router, check again if the internet works on your devices. If not, these links will be able to help you to reconfigure the router.

  • How to add the routing of the internet (0.0.0.0) in the Linksys WRT54G2

I want to add internet routing via an interface on the Linksys WRT54G2, usually in the PC / NB who want to connect to the internet after connecting to the wireless router, I use Route Add 0.0.0.0 mask 255.255.255.0 192.168.2.150 (that is 192.168.2.150, it is our gateway to the internet) or simply to set the proxy server in the browser.

but to connect your handheld (such as the blackberry) that is wireless, it can not use internet and I cannot add the routing in the blackberry device, so the only way how to connect to the internet is the use of the routing of the Linksys wireless router, but when I add 0.0.0.0 in the route in advance, it shows an invalid IP address anyone experienced the same? Help, please...

    Thanks in advance,

    Nathaniel Franky

    1. you must turn off the DHCP server on the WRT and use instead a DHCP server on your gateway internet (or another DHCP server). The DHCP server assigns the default gateway for clients. It must be the correct internet gateway. Do not use the DHCP server on the WRT.

    2. the WRT will never accept a default route. It is designed to be the internet gateway. It will always use its own IP address as default for DHCP offers gateway (if the WRT DHCP server is enabled). It will always be to route internet traffic to the internet port of the WRT which must be connected to the internet.

  • Linksys E3000 cause Internet slow speed

I came home yesterday and my Internet is very slow. Later, I discovered that it was because of my Linksys E3000 because if I don't have my E3000 and go directly to a cable modem, it works fine.

I tried to reconfigure, firmware upgrade, factory reset and none of them worked. So, what happens? Any sugestion is much appreciated.

Well, I finally highlight at the origin of this problem. It was RapidDrive from Rapidshare. As soon as I remove this piece of junk on my computer, everything works fine and fast again. I have this program that runs in the background on all my computers. Thus, makes it harder to solve. As soon as I remove, I tried running 8.5 Squeeze, he always gave me the error but my Internet speed is not slowing down.

  • Linksys E4200 - Skype internet killing

    Hello

Recently, I went from a router D-Link GamerLounge for a new Linksys E4200 using the default firmware, upgraded to the latest version.

The router seems to work fine - except when someone uses Skype, and performance of the network decreases drastically. I have tested it with Skype running on a wireless laptop and test my Wired PC network. Here are the results of ping www.google.com with and without Skype:

    Without Skype (wired PC ping):

    Reply from 74.125.113.103: bytes = 32 time = 132ms TTL = 46
    Reply from 74.125.113.103: bytes = 32 time = 83ms TTL = 46
    Reply from 74.125.113.103: bytes = 32 time = 183ms TTL = 46
    Reply from 74.125.113.103: bytes = 32 time = 105ms TTL = 46
    Reply from 74.125.113.103: bytes = 32 time = 48ms TTL = 46

With Skype (running on the laptop wireless, PC ping wired):

    Reply from 74.125.113.103: bytes = 32 time = 132ms TTL = 46
    Reply from 74.125.113.103: bytes = 32 time = 83ms TTL = 46
    Reply from 74.125.113.103: bytes = 32 time = 183ms TTL = 46
    Reply from 74.125.113.103: bytes = 32 time = 105ms TTL = 46
    Reply from 74.125.113.103: bytes = 32 time = 48ms TTL = 46

I searched a bit on the internet and have not found anyone with a similar problem. Someone at - it suggestions? I guess I could try to upgrade the firmware again or something.

Probably due to the quality of service. You said it was a GamerLounge, which I suppose has automatic QoS for the games.

You can configure QoS on the linksys as well, it's just not the installer for the game by default.

  • WRT54G2 no Internet after initial connecitons...

I have an active Internet connection. I decided to move from a WRT54GS to a WRT54G2 wireless router.  Once you plug the G2 to the ethernet connection and a cable of the G2 for a computer shouldn't you have access to the internet?  I get no Internet access after doing this.  I tried to do an installation using the web configuration (which I did successfully with my old WRT54GS) but I still don't get internet access.  I copied all my settings form the GS and re-made those defining with the G2 and I get nothing.  I have reset the G2 and tried again and I am still getting no Internet after making initial connections before entering the web installer.   What could be the problem?  At my last effort, I managed to successfully do an upgrade of the firmware on the WRT54G2.

P.S. I've switched back to my old WRT54GS and everything goes well with this router.

This is resloved.  I did turn off all appliances, turn on the cable modem, router and PC in that order.  I now set up the router using the web configuration as I wanted.  So far, everything works fine.

  • WRT54G2 - no internet connection

I have just replaced my WRT54G with a WRT54G2 router.  I used the same settings that were on my WRT54G.  Everything works fine as long as I have the blue cable plugged into my computer and the other end into Port 1 of the router.  As soon as I disconnect the blue wire from my computer, I lose my internet connection.  My computer connects to the router with no problems, I just can't connect to the internet.

I checked and double checked all the settings on my computer (in network connections) and the configuration of the router (192.168.1.1) page and they are identical.  My settings worked fine on the previous router, but for some reason, I am unable to connect to wireless internet with the new router using the previous settings.

    Any ideas?

Yes, you are right, reset the router and re-configuration it makes a big difference...

  • Help? Laptop Dell 620 router wireless, Charter ISP, WRT54G2 disconnecting Internet

I met a ton of messages on other sites with the same problem, but impossible to find a solution - can help anyone? I bought a Linksys G, set up using the CD. My wired Office Gets Internet very well, but my Dell laptop wireless find internet, says he has excellent connectivity and then... just abandon the connection. It times out on every 2-3 minutes. Says 'search network address', then connects again. Then he falls. Etc.

My ISP is Charter, who "can't stop." I tried to reset the router, change the IP address, everything I can think of.

    Windows XP on both machines.

Laptop is great internet at my sister's, is not the laptop or a wireless card.

    Any ideas?

Thanks for the fix - in fact, I found a solution on another thread that worked - clone the address MAC and who did it, not more left falling Internet. I have no idea WHY it worked... lol... but I'm just happy, she did it!

I've will upgrade the firmware too - I don't know who will save me hassle in the future.

    Thanks again for responding!

  • Linksys WRT54G2 router: I can't guarantee or remove unsecured wireless network

    1. never use the default SSID "linksys". You should also do a unique SSID. If not, try your computer to connect to the router from your neighbor instead of your.

    2. Windows remembers wireless networks. You must remove the old unsecured network in the preferred networks list to get rid of him. After securing the wireless, you do not "have unsecure Linksys network. It's just that see Windows network called "linksys" and shows that all saved with this SSID wireless networks.

So, the problem isn't the router or that a computer "picks up" a signal not secure (except even once, you really another router linksys with the default settings in the district), but the computer has a list of networks, he knows and shows that.

Remove all linksys (SSID linksys) networks in the list of favorite networks on all of your computers. Make sure you set up a unique SSID instead and ensure that. That should do it.

If the computers still captures a unsecure linksys network after you clear the list of preferred networks, it may be a different router. Unplug your router to power. Then again search for networks in the neighborhood. If the linksys appears again (probably with a weaker signal than before) is not your router.

  • Linksys WRT 1900ac internet connectivity issues

I apologize in advance for a potentially easy question, but I'm not very familiar with how to solve these problems, but I digress. I recently bought a new router to replace and older router that was functional, but the beach leaves to be desired. The old router, which was a cisco worked fine, but when I plugged my 1900ac upwards the light internet blinking white, and I have no idea how to fix this. I don't have any internet access. I am currently using my old router. any other important information that my ISP is Atlantic broadband and the supplied modem was a motorola SB5120 surfboard cable modem. I would really appeciate a soultion wise step to my problem.

    Thank you in advance!

Try the cable modem and the router, and then plug off the modem. Wait for the modem to get all it's lights on. Then reconnect the router. Some modems/ISP lock the MAC address in the cable modem, so it will not 'allow' traffic unless they match.

  • WRT54G2 v1 - Internet is slow wireless AND WIRED

OK, so I get my internet to an ethernet cable plugged into the wall (I don't know if its cable or dsl because I live in an apartment). When I connect from the wall to my Macbook internet is fast with Mbit/s to 30. But, when I connect to my router ethernet cable and try to access the internet, wireless or wired through the router it takes 15 seconds to load a Yahoo page or a Facebook page

Now for the confusing part. When I use the wireless on my PS3 (implemented with automatic adjustment to the subject), it goes fast enough where he can even listen to HD Netflix movies and fast enough not to get lag on Call of Duty or no games. But when I want to look at a web page on my iPod Touch, Blackberry phone, Macbook Pro and 3DS it takes forever to load a. Interestingly enough, I tried to SpeedTest.net on my Macbook and here is my result when connected wireless (always takes forever to load a Web page, and it does not load the hulu or youtube videos).

    Any advice will help!
