    Greetings.

As long as you use the level of required firmware (HUU) you should be able to run versions supported for SUSE.  Please see http://www.cisco.com/web/techdoc/ucs/interoperability/matrix/matrix.html HCL, to confirm the supported versions (11, 12).  You will also want to check versions of driver required for things like network cards, raid, CNAs controllers, etc..

    Thank you

  • Qosmio F20-136 for Linux Suse 10 tv tuner drivers

    Hello

Anyone know where I can find the linux drivers for F20-136 tv tuner? I understand that the Qosmio Player is based on linux, so presumably they do, but I couldn't find them.

Ideally, I'm after Suse 10 compatible drivers.

    Thank you

    Hello

Linux operating system is not supported and driver TV tuner is not available.

  • L10-202: ACPI Module does not work with Linux SUSE 10

I bought a Toshiba laptop L10-202 a few weeks ago and tried to install SUSE 10 on it. The installation went well but I have some problems with ACPI modules.
I know that Toshiba recommends Windows XP but I have nowhere to ask for help because I could not find help on Linux forums. I should mention that I've recompiled the kernel because I considered that this was not necessarily.
So far, the modules ACPI informs me on the temperature of the processor (57 degrees Celsius, the fan starts and at 52 degrees Celsius, it stops) and the only function that works is suspension on HARD drive. The battery level is not indicated because there is no file in/proc/acpi/battery/to read information on the battery. Except another ACPI hardware was detected by SUSE installation and works very well. I couldn't use the Toshiba_acpi module because this laptop has a Phoenix BIOS, but this isn't a big problem.

You have an idea why ACPI does not work on SUSE and how could I solve the problem?

Don't you think that there is no danger for the laptop to continue using SUSE, which limited the work of ACPI modules could cause damage to my laptop or it is safe to use SUSE?

    Thank you!

    Hello

Well well, in my own opinion it s desirable that all functions of the laptop should work properly. But I put t think he might of s for laptop computer continue to use the Suse10.
I would recommend using the other Linux distribution. That use you the Knoppix. This Linux you can stat from a CD or DVD and it works like a normal Linux operating system and you can also use the Windows XP.

    Little info on ACPI:
With ACPI, the operating system can turn off devices, such as CD-ROM drives, when they are not in use. Another example: ACPI will enable manufacturers to produce computers that automatically turns on as soon as you touch the keyboard

  • Satellite L675D: Linux Suse 11.3 crashes after loading the kernel

Phew! thought I would find my salvation here until I read the Linux of countless questions, but anyway.

Mint 10, suse 11.3 and studio 64 live CD everything freeze after loading the kernel.
    A black screen is empty.

Yes, I have Ubuntu 10.04 in a dual boot work, but this isn't my distro of choice.
Yes, I tried the live CD on another PC and they work.

So please a Toshiba guru please tell me what this model does not have to do it entirely for edge for Linux. Or am I dreaming?

Do not know what will happen with other models. I discovered with my L675D I could get through the gel by typing in acpi = off

    Good luck

  • Tecra A7-117 T2300------hardware compatibility with Linux SuSE or RedHat?

    Hello world

I'm a linux newbie and I tried installing SuSE Linux 10.0.
But the graphics of the docking station and for the network adapter card is not recognized.

The graphics card is ATI Mobility Radeon X 1400 HyperMemory and the ATI driver is available
on the Web site. I guess that this ATI driver installation can be avoided...

The network adapter is Gigabit-Ethernet type.

Note = After browsing Internet, I read that a version of Xandros can work...

If someone managed by installing just SuSE Linux or RedHat on a laptop Tecra A7-117?
If successful, tell me what version?
Do you not think that it will be useful to try the "SuSE Linux 10.1" Live-DVD?

    Thank you in advance.

    Hello

I use a live Knoppix CD on my Satellite and it works properly.
Sorry, but I don t know about the compatibility of Suse on the Tecra A7.
Always is it that it is not very easy to install Linux distributions on laptops, because there is no drivers for Linux.
Especially the original drivers of manufacturing are needed to use the operating system on laptop computers.
To my knowledge, Toshiba doesn't supports Linux.

But I found a few sites Web from Toshiba for Linux:
    Toshiba Europe site: http://newsletter.toshiba-tro.de/main/

    Toshiba US site: http://linux.toshiba-dme.co.jp/linux/index.htm

Maybe you will find some tips on configuring

    Good luck

  • UCS 220 M 3 Auto start

    Hello guys,.

I have a problem with Cisco UCS 220M 3, for the test, we cut the power on the server and when the power is back on, the server does not start automatically, and I have to press the power button in order so that it starts.

Note that I have already configured power politics through CIMC to power on power failure and also tried to restore the last option and it didn't work.

    Thanks in advance

In-house research, I found this bug CSCud75309 ' C-220 failed intermittently to restore the system to "last State" political pw "(https://tools.cisco.com/bugsearch/bug/CSCud75309/?reffering_site=dumpcr) there is no workaround for the case or a cause to fix an upgrade took place in version 1.5 (4) and the issue was not considered once again What version of firmware are you running?

  • Why distribution linux Suse for Vmware virtual appliances

    Hi people!

I was wondering the reason of vmware using Suse Linux distribution for all of their virtual devices?

Thank you very much for your comments!

    Best regards!

VMware and Novell have an alliance, so I suspect that is the reason behind this.

  • Satellite A40: Driver for Linux Suse 9.0

Hi, new here... About 8 months ago, I installed suse9.0, I like it, but I want to first loading the appropriate drivers for the hardware, the default values has allowed her to work adquetly... linux has me confussed on a good amount of terminology,... could someone direct me as to where to find the drivers for my laptop.

    Thanks for your help

    Hello

Unfortunately, Toshiba driver download page you will only find drivers for Microsoft Windows operating system.
    There is no Linux drivers.
All Toshiba laptops only use Windows operating systems. In this case, pilots are designed only for WIN OS.

  • UCS 220 M3 LSI raid configuration

    Hi all

Really struggling here set up our disks/RAID on our server.

We ordered with the lsi megaraid 9271-8i.

By reading the documentation (http://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/td/docs/unified_computing/ucs/c/hw/C220/ins...) it seems that we should have to use the following:

UCS in disabled bios - done.

Then set up the RAID, we want with the disks we want (we have 8) you should get a prompt after post Ctrl + M

    I never see this message?

I even went through the process of post whole spamming Ctrl + M without seeing any kind of raid configuration options.

    Something I am doing wrong?

    Appreciate any advice.

In your config file in the BIOS ("Advanced" tab) in the MMIC, confirm that you have "Option ROM' enabled for the PCIe slot where the RAID controller is installed and disable all others, go into BIOS and confirm that the integrated RAID controller is disabled and then reboot the server... Once you see the list of disks during POST, press Ctrl +H, Ctrl + M is the integrated RAID controller. (The controller form factor of mezz is Ctrl + C, as explained here: http://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/td/docs/unified_computing/ucs/c/hw/C200M1/i...)
