I couldn't find this information anywhere, although I imagine that I'm probably not the first person to experience this problem...

I have a few issues where the steps in the procedures are present numbered lists. I use the conditional tags build on some of the numbered steps to filter the when specific filters are applied in the output of Responsive HTML5. When I look at a topic in preview mode and apply filters, list numbers automatically renumber to avoid skipping numbers. However, when the output and then apply the filter, the lines disappear as expected, but numbered lists jump filtered numbers.

    For example:

This filter as indicated in the overview:

    ex 2.PNG

But in the generated output, the numbering is far:

    ex 3.PNG

Is it possible to get this number right?

Yes, just tested on my end with a multiple numbered list. And in this type of list, things go to pot!

Seems that the solution is to avoid using this type of list. Pretty easy to accomplish. Select the first and the last bit of list and click the multilevel. then simply apply numbers.

  • I can restart list numbering on a new page?

It seems like it should be simple, but I can't understand it. I want that my lists numbered in text frames linked to automatically restart on a new page. It is a book of exercises, and on each page should restart at the 1. Can I do this without unwire my text boxes?

Okie doke, I understood how do. All styles have already been assigned in this book, so I wanted to avoid the addition of a new style, and then manually change the style of paragraph for the first element in hundreds of pages. Instead, I can just change the definition of the styles. I post here in case anyone is looking for the same concept.

Rather than restart the number on each page, what I was really trying to do was start numbering at 1 for lists numbered following a specific head, the title of this series of exercises, which is also numbered consecutively by the document. The key is to use levels of lists. This is my first style, head:

And here is my second style, the numbered list:

  • On the list numbered

    Hello

I am facing this problem with In Design today, I've never met before in In Design.

When do I apply numbered list to a text. The following list is by default into the following numbers.

for example if I applied a numbered list for the first 4 textlines, so I have a list numbered 4 points. and after a few text for then 5 lines, if I apply the same style of paragraph number list, or even if I rename the paragraph number list style he numbers the next text ines 5, 6, 7 and on.

    I need number 1, 2, 3 and so on.

I also checked the properties of the paragraph style and found that there are two options, continue on the previous and start of, but that this does not work from result anyway. And if I continue to precedent, I still have not the same problem.

    Help, please.

    Thank you in advance.

You must define it as a numbered list and set the style to none.

  • Lists numbered in the heading styles do not appear in the table of contents

    Hello world

I used lists numbered as part of the style definition for the 4 levels of headings, for example.

    Chapter 1: INTRODUCTION

    1.1

    1.2

    1.3

    1.4

    1.4.1

    1.4.2

    one.

    b.

    c.

    d.

When I create the table of contents, however, the numbering does not appear.

Anyone know why this happens and if there is a workaround?

    Appreciate any advice.

    1. Go to set the styles in the menu layout, table of contents
    2. In the diolog: more Options
    3. In the paragraphs numbered section: select "Include full paragraph.
    4. Save the Style and use.
  • numbered... lists numbers are... rimmed numbers

As the title suggests, I am creating a list numbered with the circled numbers. Basiclly, I do a test with choices of response that can be filled in... similar to the test of SAT (for the Americans in the forum).

In Microsoft Word, it's very easy... they are one of the options in the drop-down list numberd list. InDesign, however, does offer this type of list in its drop... and I can't understand how to create the list.

    Any help would be appreciated!

  • On numbered lists, policy number showing too big

I noticed a messge on this subject before, but patch brings me. I started creating this project in HR 7, so I have to use a project from a previous version. I only have a .css, so it's not them becomes confused. The text seems to me when I am trying to edit a project, but the output shows the numbers much larger than 10 PT measures. Verdana text. Here is the code:

    < ol > < li p-List1 = class > < class p = List1 > in the menu bar, click on < span style = "' make-weight: bold; ' > file </span >"
    | < span style = "' make-weight: bold; ' > open </span >." (You can also click on < span)
    style = "' make-weight: bold; ' (> open </span > in the toolbar.)" The < span style = "' make-weight: bold; ' > open </span >"
    dialog box is displayed. < /p > < /li >
    < class li p-List1 = > < class p List1 = > navigate to the file to open.
    < /p > < /li >
    < class li p-List1 = > < class p = List1 > double-click on the file. The dialog box
the box is closed, the modules in the configuration file appear in the < a HREF = "System_List_Pane.htm" > system
List < /a > pane and the details of the first module in the list is displayed
    in the < a HREF = "Current_View_Pane.htm" > < /a > current view pane. < /p > < /li >
    < /ol >

The "class p" causes this problem? I don't know much HTML and do not remember that the class p means, in any case.

In the css that you have provided, nowhere you assign characteristics of the fonts for the actual lists (OL, UL) and list items (LI). P tags are fine for styles of paragraphs except when in a list.

Statements of style for lists or list items, and when it detects none that it restores the current default values of the browser active search HTML.

You would be better of assigning the OL and UL styles separately and adding the news of police there, like here for OL:

    OL {margin-top: 0px; margin-bottom: 0px; do-family: Verdana, without serif;} { do-size: 10pt;}

See the tutorial CSS website for more information and samples for the edition and visualization of the results.

    Good luck

  • numbers within a circle to be like a list of chip number

    Hello

I try to use a list of ball (in front of a nested style). Because I use the chip number function in the paragraph style, it does not interfere with the nested style, but I want to have a numbered list that resembles the image here. A circle with a number in there?

  • Why a few numbers in a list numbered a different font?

I started a numbered list in a picture then it continued in another. The numbers themselves are different fonts in each image, not the text that follows the number. Thus, "1" and "2. "in the first picture are the same font, then" 3"and" 4. "in the second frame have a different font.

Any ideas on how to ensure that the police number remains the same between the frames?

You may have a mixture of digital styles, i.e. that one proposed by Barb. So here I have done this and if I select the entire list and open the bullets and numbers in the paragraph Panel (which is different from that of paragraph Styles) Style numbering of character Styles is empty:

If I put it in a unique style or None match the numbers:

  • Right-aligned numbers in lists numbered in the paragraph styles

Is it possible (in InDesign 5.5) to create a numbered list in a paragraph style that makes the numbers right aligned, in order to align a two-digit number to the right, the space between the number and the text being equal whether a number of one or two digits? I can do it manually with two tabs, but the bullets & dialogue of numbering in paragraph Options of Style only allows for the position of a tab. It would be useful to be able to automate this type of numbering.

  • Issue of a general list numbering

I am trying to create a numbered list element that restarts at 1 whenever it is used.  The User Guide says "by default, each counter is initially set to zero. . The counter can maintain its current value, be incremented by 1 or reset to a different value. For example, use < n = 1 > in the format that resets the numbering to 1 at the beginning of a new series of numbered steps. »

So, I built my EDD like this:

    EDD.jpg

But when I import the EDD to test in a document, each list continues the numbering of the seizure. I tried to play with the syntax, but it's new to me and I can't understand it.  How I set up so that each list begins with 1?

Here's an example of what I get (sorry, it's ugly, I am following advice and get the structure put in place before implementing nice shaped!)

    result.jpg

    Thank you!

First of all, when you have several lists, as well as numbered tables and figures, it is preferable to use a label of different series for each type of list. This is especially important when you have lists within lists and you want that numbering for change say the numbers in letters to the Romans, etc. So, I would replace the L: in the format of bulleted to something else, say B:. In fact, you can probably leave out, because there is no visual distinction between the first shot and the second and the first item in the following list.

Second, I'm not sure that you can use in the AutoNumber format and hope that it restarts with each new list 1. I think that "initially set to zero" means at the beginning of the document. You must add a paragraph within the context of numbered list that checks to the FIRST element of the element in the list item and set its number to L:. This is how I do it (just a cut and paste from my EDD):

    If the context is: {first}
    Dialing properties
    The auto-numbering format: L:\t. \t
    On the other
    Dialing properties
    The auto-numbering format: L:\t. \t

If you have a case where you want the second list to continue the numbering of a previous list, you can add an attribute to the list item that you can set for continuous numbering, and then look in your EDD.

    Hope this helps,

    Van

  • Align the amendments. in a list numbered

    Hello

I tried to put in place a numbered list so that the numbers align binary, in other words, so that 1 to 9 indentera space figure and align with the 0 on 10 (or 1 second in eleven). If I remember correctly you could do this in Ventura by number en with one in a good setting. Can not know how to do in ID CS4. Suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

    Jon

It does not work in CS4.  If you have the ball or number of the station in line with the law, but they are not lining up - simply increase the withdrawal of first line increments until they do.

    Hope that helps.

  • How to add a line in a list of control number?

I've created a checklist in number and the model come with 27 lines automatically. I have now completed in each of them and need more lines, as my list grows. However, when I right click, options to add lines Above/Below are faded. Why I can't use them? Is there a limit or have I missed something?

    Hi dorotkab,

You probably have a filter applied. Remove the filter and you should be able to add lines.

Another way to add lines is drag the '=' at the bottom left.
