Listen to an AIFF audio file. format

Someone sent me 6 songs via the program called "send."  They are all in the Aiff format.  I downloaded and even downloaded the app "send you It.
But I can't open them.  When I try, I get an error with default drive (windows media) code, I have other files in media player (not sure of the format, songs downloaded from the CD or purchased online).
I just want to play these songs sent me; and ripp to CD. (Go slow, I have 37... not terrible on computers.)

AIFF is a format of Apple. convert to mp3 and then use in the usual way.

    Hello

    Codecs: Frequently asked questions
    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows7/codecs-frequently-asked-questions

All you need is good Codec

    Check here:

    Plug-ins for Windows Media Player
    http://www.Microsoft.com/windows/windowsmedia/player/plugins.aspx

    -------------------------------------------------------------

If 64 bits and you need codec.

Read this 1st and go that route, or use the one below. (Vista or Windows 7)

    http://www.Vistax64.com/sound-audio/152850-Vista-codec-pack-32bit-64bit-Media-Player-codecs.html

    --------------------------------------------------------------------

If 64-bit - can run WMP in 32 or 64 bit mode.

Or try these: download - SAVE - go to the place where your put them RIGHT CLICK – RUN AS ADMIN.

For 32-bit use these - OR the 32 bit ones listed above which I prefer.

K - Lite Codec Pack 10.0.0 (or newer)
    http://www.codecguide.com/

    Use them for 64-bit:

    K - Lite Codec Pack (64-bit) 10.0.0 (or newer)
    http://www.codecguide.com/

K - Lite now includes BOTH 32 and 64 bits in a single download installable.

Also look for updates, September 6, 2013, was K-Lite Codec Pack 10.0.3
Download and install it after the main program.

    -------------------------------------------------------------

You know that you use WMP 32 or 64

Change, modify or value 64-bit Windows Media Player 11 (WMP11) in Windows Vista x 64 as default (or WMP12 - Windows7)
    http://www.mydigitallife.info/2007/01/19/switch-change-or-set-64-bit-Windows-Media-Player-11-WMP11-in-Windows-Vista-x64-as-default/

    -------------------------------------------------------------

And you can use it when necessary because no codex is usually required.

  • Should I change file Format for CD burning

I'm new with this please bare with me. What I can say all the music I have purchased through iTunes is in the AAC Audio file format. All the music that I imported into iTunes MY Cd collection has been imported with the Apple Lossless Audio File.

My question is the sound quality of the BEST CD, do I have to convert the music I bought, with is in the ACC Audio, Apple Lossless file format, then burn to the CD? There should just go with the Audio of the right VAC on CD file. I ask this for music that I bought. All the other songs I imported CD into itunes is already Apple Lossless. I am not concerned about the larger files, just to get the best sound quality for CD.

    Hi 80vette,

Thank you for using communities Support from Apple!

I see you are eager to learn more about the quality of the music, and if you can do something else to get them to a better quality.  Now it is possible to convert your AAC to Apple Lossless files, the only change you will see is a significant increase of disk space being absorbed by these songs.  Simply put, you can put the lossless format, but you will hear no audio enhancement.  In addition, encoded AAC files downloaded from the iTunes Store already compete with the quality that you hear on a CD of music retail:

AAC encoded files compete with the quality of the audio CD and sound as good or better than MP3 files encoded in same or even a high sampling rate. For example, a 128 kbps AAC file should sound as good or better than a 160 Kbps MP3 file. Because the flow is weaker, the AAC file is also smaller than the MP3 file.

  • First Pro CC will not import ANY audio file, be it a mp3 or a part of a mp4 video (or other formats)

Any audio or video file that I drop at first will appear almost immediately with the window

When I check the log error/events (little red X in the lower corner) this window says:

' 21/11/14 09:47:28 disc error has occurred while trying to access the following files:

    \\ipsse01\home$\myusername\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\Common\Media cache Files\filename.mp3 44100.cfa ".

(The file is on my desk)

This happens at all, even that current audio files windows comes with in the folder 'Sample Music', I tried those too to nothing does not.

I am at a total loss. I'm new to first pro, but these are generic file formats, so I don't think that the problem is with the file. I have not tried to reinstall because I have to go to our one network administrator / computer specialist (who is also the accountant of the company) so that it can enter the username admin/pass in the pop-up box and she's often so busy. I try to avoid listening to it, if I do not need to (which unfortunately I tend to always have to do a lot)

    For reference, I'm under Win7 Professional 64-bit, 8 GB of RAM and a processor i7 - 4610M @ 3 .00GHz.

    Hey Kevin,

I had earlier tried to do, but it still doesn't work. Then the company we use for large it projects, suggested pointing where media cache files are saved to a new location, excluding my sync account (which is always saved on my hard drive) and a folder on the hard disk that has not been synchronized with the network. That seemed to fix finally!

Thanks for all the help and answers, if I really appreciate it!

  • In preview, can I listen to audio files in an interactive pdf?

We did a huge interactive pdf file in InDesign, with text and sound and video files. They read well both in Acrobat Reader on imac and a PC with Acrobat Pro. The file opens in the application overview on imac, but then the audio files and video files are not possible to open. Anyone know if there is a feature to listen to sound files in the application preview or Acrobat Reader is that so?

If your A / V files are not also playable in the preview, then there is no configuration preview that will change this fact, and the interactive visualization is Adobe Acrobat Reader on the Mac.

  • Clicking or stutter during playback of the audio file on Sansa Clip

I'm having a problem similar to that described in the following thread:

    http://forums.SanDisk.com/Sansa/board/message?board.ID=sansafuse&message.ID=2785&query.ID=219379#M2785

Only I have the problem on a 4 GB Sansa Clip.

The audio file is a DRM WMA to NetLibrary, 165MB, 32 Kbps and 11:48:01 in length.

I am currently at 05:21 mark in the file and the stuttering arrived at a point where it is difficult to listen to the file.

I had filled the files of devices (especially the music, a few podcasts) and then deleted, filled again, etc., so there may be some fragmentation that is either the problem.

I'm reformatting of the clip using the internal format of the device function and allows you to copy only the audio book on the device at the beginning to see if the problem goes away (this * should * minimise, if not eliminate the fragmentation).  Then I resync the rest of the music files to the player using Windows Media Player, and then see if the problem comes back.

    I'll post my results here.

Reformat the device worked very well.  The audio file sounds fine and the file is read immediately when you rewind or fast forward through the file (before it should pause a few seconds once you wanted to before play).

  • How to import audio files in Photoshop CS5.1?

I'm trying to take a picture and then have a few animations on how to do this. I tried to open the file with the PS, but he says that's not the right type of file. How can I do this?

Also, is that the new version of CS5?

    Thank you.

Are you saying you just change the extension of your audio file? That will not convert it. If you have Adobe Media Encoder, you can use it, but I use Quicktime 7 for basic editing and file format conversions, for example, convert a .wav file to a .mov file. QT 7 is MUCH better than the latest 10 QT for this sort of thing. If you don't already have it you can get it here: Apple - Support - downloads (I should mention that I have 7 QT Pro, so I'm not sure if the standard version will do what you must to 100%, but it IS free.)

Because you don't say if you have a Mac or a pc, I would suggest Audacity, which is a free and feature-rich audio editing application. You can open your several audio in Audacity, of/connection/edit files as you want, export a .wav or .aiff, open this new file in Quicktime 7, save it as a file .mov and drag .mov in the PS file.

This may seem a little complicated, but Photoshop is not a real film editor such as Adobe Premiere Pro, for example, which is designed to do this kind of thing very easily.

  • Download audio files from email

When I attach an audio file (mp3, AIFF, etc.) to an e-mail, it appears as a miniature black reading Control Panel. I tried to send such an email to myself to see how it will appear to a recipient, and it appears the same.

It seems so we can play music directly from the email, but there seems to be no way to download the attachment; control-click does not open a menu that allows you to display an attachment in the form of regular icon or download it.

If I first put the audio file in a folder and then attach the file to the e-mail address, which gets the problem, but in a rather cumbersome way. There must surely be a way to send an audio file to make it appear like a normal, downloadable attachment?

    I would appreciate the help.

PS: I realize that you can use the ' save' button in the upper right of the email, but most recipients of e-mails could expect to be able to save the attachment directly from its icon.

  • Is there a way to tag audio files on an ipod nano 8th generation and iphone?

    Hello

I listen to audio long music mixes and podcasts radio, usually between 2 to 4 hours long. But many times, I want to set up. I would to halfway through listening to a mix of music for 2 hours, then to go to the podcast. But then I don't want to return to the mix of music later but at exactly at the same point in the mix where I left. Is it possible to bookmark this point in time in the mix?

Whenever I go to another audio file, it's always a pain in the anus to then navigate to that point in time in the first file I listened. I went through all the menus and see no option for this. This type of bookmarking functionality is available?

I use an iPod Nano 8 Gen and iPhone 5s and both are updated to the latest updates/IOS

    Thank you very much

In iTunes, select some of your audio files for a long time, get information, and then on the Options on the tab playback position check store. Sync.

  • Is an mp3 player or how to turn the audio book format diminishes the quality of the mp3?

For some reason any two albums I've bought off iTunes and uploaded to iTunes without problem onto my iPhone. I turned them in audio book format. The quality of the file is important. I think they are in 320 Kbps. This quality will decrease once in an audio book format?

N ° you are simply changing the file extension.

If you're worried, try it first on a copy.
