  Lol you should be able to see both. What you don't see is the degraded Annotator. Have you tried to turn the gradient using the gradient tool? IE: select the gradient with the live-paint-select-tool and then turn the tool degraded.

  Hi all

  I tried to fill this paint group direct (and others) with a gradient, but the gradient does not fill the entire form. It seems that the location of the gradient is confused so that it only fills in the center of the shape. I have attached a screenshot below as an example.

  

  In this picture you can see that the slope is very strong in the center of the shape (highlighted in red), even if the gradient tool indicates that there should be much more widespread in the whole of the form. What I am doing wrong? Not I am combining my strokes in a correct way?

  I'm having a problem with the live paint groups that I can't understand, or find a workaround for.

  I create all my lineart for the illustrations in Adobe Illustrator. I use the tool pen in combination with the line tool width to create the thickness of line. Once I finished all the work of the line, I select all and Expand. This translates not have refills for the areas of illustration that need to be colored.

  From there, what I do is select all > livepaint > make. I then fill in each area in a base color, using the Live Paint Bucket tool. Once finished, I have to select new all > expand. This leaves me fillings that I can choose indivually to apply gradients and work directly with.

  This process works fine until I have develop the live paint group. After developing, there is a thin white border around that meet two distinct colors. This occurs only after having developed, this does not happen when it is still a live paint group. I tried all the options in the window to develop and achieve the same result. I have no idea what I'm doing wrong.

  I exported the work done in several formats (eps, .jpg, .png) and the lines are still there.

  I've included a picture to show the problem. (the Red arrows point to the issue of borders)

  Turn anti-aliasing off the coast in the preferences. If the line is still there: you have a problem.

• A script to do all my layers into individual groups of live paint?

  I am an architecture student and I often bring into my AutoCAD drawings into Illustrator to color / adjust the lines. A file from CAD can often have 30 + layers (one for the exterior walls, one for the interior walls, one for windows, one for the furniture and so on). When I apply the paint directly to a layer, I have to select and click alt + ctrl + X which is not only a lot of work but when you do it 20 times at the beginning of each drawing, it becomes a bit of a hazzle.

  I was wondering if anyone know or can create a script that can transform all my layers (or at least the links selected) in individual groups of live paint? I know that I can select all via target select and click Live paint, but that creates a live paint group with all my layers. I want that all my 30 processed layers in 30 different live paint groups while running a script.

  Anyone know?

  Here are the steps that you can use.

  Step 1: Create a new Illustrator document and insert the scan / photo of the image.

  • File > new
  • File > Place, navigate to the image, select it, click on the spot
  • Click and drag on the page to insert the image.

  Step 2: Turn the image pixel based vector art Illustrator

  • With the selection tool, click on the Image to select it.

  I have a Celtic design which has sections I want to overlap, but I extruded and beveled to make more realistic metallic look.  I have tried to widen its appearance before performing the live painting, but "live painting" option is used in output in the menu... What can I do to live paint this object without losing the appearance of 3d?  If I sketch the lines first and then doing live painting... it loses all its extrude and bevel.  Help!

  Oooh I found a way... it's a bit tedious, but it works!

  I've dissociated and put copies of two components I want to ride on a new layer, in place...

  Then I do a current overlapping areas clipping mask...

  This cut mask then sits on top of the underlying section that wasn't right layers and now puts the object from the bottom up!

  I now do with each duplication where I want to put the object from the bottom to the top... but it's worth for the awesome effect!

  I see some tutorials and I try to follow along I can't have the same functions of the tool, as demonstrated.

  My live paint bucket tool doesn't have the same options as the guardian. He can drag his arrows and get colors from the color palette, while I only have one available color.

  I have always to go to my color palette and choose a color in order for my forms to be filled. But when he suddenly comes to my shape coloring so no problem, I can slide and get my color

  I suggest you expand the live paint group and then selecting forms by using "select the appearance even." You can then easily move them to their own layers.

• Live Paint objects filled with transparent strokes?

  So I've been playing with Live paint, and I noticed that when the paths overlap or are contiguous, or even if a path has been expanded to a fill, a transparent line is there. I am confused by the present type and do not know what to do, because they are not always obvious in Illustrator, but when I put them documents in Photoshop, they made obvious!

After more than an hour to chat with a Tech support person, we determined that disable anti-aliasing when I open the document in the PS is going to solve this problem, so all lines are shredded, so this isn't a viable solution. I know I can fill these gaps in in Photoshop, but I don't think I would have to do that, and also, with complex illustrations, is not exactly a viable option... I work too small?

  You have already developed. Make a group of direct painting again and try to export as a PSD.
