  Win7 64 Bit install - download and install wmm live and installed.  Open the utility and it does nothing... does not give me an error, absolutely my HDD spin for a few seconds, then nothing.  No active processes in taskmon and no application appears.  /shrug

  With the progression of Photoshop and the use of the GPU support, can anyone confirm if active selections on a 16-bit image are 16-bit or even 8 bits.

  8-bit. The selections are stored as Alpha channels with a range of only 256 tonal values.

• Drivers Vista 32-bit works on XP 32 bit?

  I got this HP model a6544f since a few months now and find that much too much my older hardware (scanner, etc.) and 16-bit software (which I use daily) simply does not work with Vista or a 64-bit OS. I prefer to use XP 32-bit where all happy lives on my old machine. But the driver for this system only specifies Vista 32 - bit or 64 - bit. I already added a "real" video card to get digital and put output at power level to manage this card. If necessary, I suppose I could live with the 32-bit version of Vista, but would really prefer to use XP. (I think of all the "improvements" in Vista as nothing else that candies for the eyes, and you have disabled as many of them as possible anyway.)

  Does anyone know if Vista drivers 32 - bt for different systems of motherboard will install on XP 32 bit? It will make you life easier if they do!

  Motherboards are circuit boards, which don't require drivers.  Components (i.e. the device IC) soldered to the circuit require drivers.  They are made by the respective device providers. for example peripheral chips done Intel Intel, NVIDIA is peripheral chips NVIDIA, Realtek is peripheral chips Realtek, so on and so immediately.

  And no, HP does not motherboards.  Even if it did, nothing would change, he wouldn't have the IC device used on the motherboard.  HP gets the device drivers to the sellers of the device, as everyone (including the motherboard manufacturers).

  You are using a PCI-E graphics card so the drivers are not necessary for the graphics card Intel integrated, which is automatically disabled when you use the PCI-E x 16 graphics card.  FireWire and USB controller drivers are now provided by Microsoft for OS later to Windows XP SP1, make sure you get those through the operating system, service packs or Windows Update.

  To answer your original question, some driver packages can support Vista and Windows XP.  For example, I downloaded a driver Atheros WiFi Dell's who did the support for Windows Vista.  But when I extracted the driver files, it contained drivers, and other files required for both Vista and XP, but the real drivers for Vista are not compatible with Windows XP.

  I need help please!

  Hard drive of my laptop has failed and shattered Windows. IT friend of mine he recovered eventually, but following his advice, I'll send it to the factory for an appropriate remedy.

  In the meantime, I would like to know if I can recover emails in my boxes in all. All the addresses in my address book are preserved and are there when I logged in the Windows Live Mail.

  However, I am very confused. I thought that Windows Live Mail is a bit like hotmail or google mail where I can access it anytime anywhere, so even if my hard drive has failed, I expected to see my old emails when I logged on.

  You can use WLM in two modes.  We're really on the web Live Mail where it is stored on Microsoft servers.  The other (which most people use) is a mode in which the mail is downloaded to your computer and that are stored there as well as your contacts.  You are therefore responsible for the backup of your mail and contacts.   This web page will tell you how: http://canadiantech.info/?page_id=114

  If your hard drive is still accessible by temporarily attaching to a USB port with a box designed for that, you can find your WLM file.  He was buried on 6 levels down if you need to know exactly where he is.  %UserProfile%\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Windows live Mail.

  I am opposed to where WLM stores my default mail.  You can move it to another place that is more easy to find which would allow you to easily save this file directly.  WLM provides the tool to do this movement quit nicely.   I use the normal WLM backup, as described in the link above AND also save the entire file WLM.  My mail, contacts and calendar are probably the most valuable thing on my computer and I not backed up really well.

  If you can't, you can connect to your Internet service provider, once you have installed and launched WLM, and download his Inbox for you.  You will not find contacts, calendar or other folders there normally.  In fact, many of my clients in these situations to discover thousands of emails downloaded into their WLM system.  This occurs if you have never removed from your Inbox to your ISP.  So, before you connect WLM to your ISP, go to your ISP webmail and clean up the Inbox.

  Normally the last version of driver manager recognizes the operating system and compile libraries with the correct word size. If this does not work, make sure that you explicitly set 2 flags CFLAGS and CXXFLAGS both with the option DBUILD_REAL_64_BIT_MODE (which you have developed or has been used in your compilation) and m64 to force a 64-bit compilation:

• New issues of memory T440p

  Our most recent transfer of T440p is only show 2.47 GB of memory to live on a 32-bit image of Windows 7. All previous expeditions showed 3.47 GB available. Has anyone seen this problem yet? We have done all updates, checked maximum memory in msconfig, adjusted video RAM in the newest BIOS revision and swapped the RAM, but nothing has changed the RAM can be used under windows.   I bought a desktop computer HP Pavilion HPE h8 - 1030d June 11 - about seven months ago - international House material and have had problems from day 1. Now, my office has turned black and a message says "Windows 7 Build 7601 this copy of Windows is not genuine".  Needless to say, I'm furious. I'm trying to run a business on this expensive computer supposed state-of-the-art and even if I live in Thailand every bit of software is genuine - or so I thought!

  Hello Wordman6045. Sorry this does not work for you. Please, try the following:

  1) click the Start button.

  (2) type: CMD.exe in the Run dialog box.

  (3) make a right click on CMD.exe and select "Run as Administrator"

  This should give you a blank black screen with a blinking cursor. At the level of the blinking cursor.

  (4) type: net stop sppsvc (it may ask you if you're sure, select Yes)

  Note: the Software Protection servive cannot be executed, it's ok.

  (5) type: cd %windir%\ServiceProfiles\NetworkService\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\SoftwareProtectionPlatform

  (6) type: Rename tokens.bar tokens.dat

  (7) type: cd %windir%\system32

  (8) type: net start sppsvc

  (9) type: slui.exe

  (10) after a few seconds of activating Windows dialog box will appear.

  Press enter on the keyboard after each command.

  May asked you to re - enter the product key or reactivate or Activation can occur automatically.

• Error with Windows Mobile Device Center: there is no email...

  I have been searching on the internet and do not yet have a solution to my problem. I have a handheld device that I need to use Windows Mobile Device Center to synchronize a program for my work. I get the following error, that I have to then click ok, just so that I can connect and then synchronize my handheld computer to work. The error is:

  There is no associated messaging program to perform the requested action. Install an e-mail program or, if such is already installed, create an association in the default programs control panel.

  I have Windows 7 64 bit and I have Thunderbird and Windows Live Mail (that I tried as default, nothing is done). I don't have Outlook and will not buy it just for this error. Help please!

• CVS issues

  Initially, I upgraded my existing 4.1 to 5.0, vCenter Server I had some isses with the server I seem not to be able to solve.  After discussions here, we have decided to build a new vCenter 5.0 from scratch using SQL 2008 R2 for the database.

  I took a host out of the original cluster and I built a Windows 2008 Standard Edition Server and SQL 2008 R2 added.  I then loaded vCenter Server 5.0 U 1.  So far so good.  I created a data center and the cluster without any problem.  I'm Tournai on CVS and any of the host and the guest without problems. Now that I'll import the remaining hosts in the cluster, I get an error saying "the host could not be added to the VCA mode of the pole. Under voltage or suspended machines on the host can use using the UC features hidden by this mode. »

  I have a questions here because all the guests on the hosts in the old vCenter were created in 4.0 or 4.1 using the Merom VCA mode and they are running Merom for EVC mode.

  I had something similar to this when I created the orginal 4.0 cluster and I had to change the CPUID mask to make things work. This does not work in the first attempt to put a new server vCenter 5.0 in use.  I took the vCenter off the new cluster host, I was able to add all former hosts in the new cluster, but cannot add the host with vCenter. I kept getting the host cannot be added error. I tried the CPUID mask and couldn't make it work.

  I'm looking for advice or some KB articles to help.

  The simplest solution is power off all the virtual machines running, add the host to the cluster and then power on virtual machines. If you do this live, it becomes a bit complicated.

• Best laptop for Premiere Pro CC 2015?

  I have a good system in my homeoffice, but now I need a laptop too, for when I m working in another office in the city. I m in a bit of a hurry and have not caught up to lately on all new laptops and things, so I hope that some of you guys are going to give it a try and help me with this one ;-)

  I already have a laptop old 4 year with only 4 GB of RAM and even if it was reasonable employment years in Photoshop CS4 etc it really doesn´t work for anything other than Word, and internetbrowsing more.

  So I need a laptop that will be good, but not a portable workstation $ 10,000...

  I mainly edit AVCHD files and nothing above 1080 50 p, but who knows if I have to deal with 4 K less than a year. The 4K is not a real dealbreaker - 1080 will be fine for a while, but I guess, as I mainly edit videos for use online. In addition, first, I use Indesign, Photoshop. Illustrator and Lightroom a lot.

  As I have VM will be sitting in a small office with two other people, I really need a laptop computer that is not a lot of noise when idle or normal use (like photoshop, etc.) I can live with a little bit of noise during video encoding/export, but not while I'm edditing in first...

  I thought about the ASUS ROG G751JT-T7018H - wich comes with 16 GB of RAM, 256 GB SSD + 1 TB of HARD drive / 7200 RPM,.

  NVIDIA GeForce GTX 970M - 3 GB of GDDR5 memory and love at first sight...

  So the pricetag would be about $2500 I guess - Don t want to spend more. Anyone with experiences with this laptop - including noiselevel?

  My question is (and these question are general issues - not only on the the ASUS mentioned above):

  1 is 16 GB enough RAM - or 32 will make a huge difference? I don't see much improvements when I upgraded my office from 24 to 64 GB of RAM...

  2 Geforce Wich xxxM cards should be avoided - if any? The 970M is supported?

  3 wouldn't be better with a 1 TB drive SSD instead of 256 GB SSD + 1 TB HARD drive? Heat - and noisewise?

  4 think I read somewhere that an external drive (RAID) with crush could speed up things - do smooth editing - any thoughts on love at first sight?

  If you have any suggestions or experiences with Adobe CC running on any of the latest laptops from 2014/2015, please share them.

  Well I'm not at all shocking in my family room with it when using the GPU or CPU for the full load running during benchmark PPBM very, but I would not compare to an office altogether.  But then how many times you'd see these extremes during a real edition session.when this is true almost completely silent and my use is current alternative 100% and I'm running the GPU for 50% memory overclocked clock.  It is a G750, I've not seen a G751 but I doubt they changed this aspect of the design.

• Update v4.0 to v4.1 vCenter

  Every afternoon

  Planning of a vCenter spend 4.0 to 4.1, and she wonders if it is the best way to go on this subject (and faster/easier).

  VCenter currently lives on a 32-bit SP2 Win2003R2 server called CDP-VC01. I am aware of 4.1 needs a 64 bit OS so called for the following:

  1 perform a full backup of remote SQL 2008 DB

  2. turn off current vCenter Server

  3 remove the AD computer account

  4 join new vCenter server under the same name (CCP-VC01), OS Win2008R1 SP2 64-bit

  5. install vCenter 4.0 (same version that was on the previous vCenter server).

  6 point to remote DB existing

  7. test all right and everything works as expected

  8 upgrade to new server vCenter vCenter as per http://kb.vmware.com/selfservice/microsites/search.do?language=en_US & cmd = displayKC & externalId = 1022104 article

  That would sound the best way to cut courses to vCenter 4.1?

  You are welcome.  After installing vCenter 4.1, you're inventory will come back just as it was before the upgrade.

  One thing I do during updates is to enable DRS to 5 stars.  What is happening, it of sometimes that upgrade triggered a lot of DRS events because the hosts are in States of the connection because the vCenter agent and upgraded agent HA.  Once all hosts are connected with happiness in the inventory, I usually return to our fully automated 3 stars.
