Live webcam Tiles inexplicably stopped working

The live tiles update as usual, but when you click on/tap on them, they do not open upward, outside of IE, which begins to open, hangs on the icon for a while, then stops and returns to the start screen.  I tried some of the solutions on these pages:

  • Uninstalled my avast antivirus, tried things without him and reinstalled - no difference
  • Restarted the PC of countless times
  • Messed around with the boot options (turning on and off startup programs non-windows of a particularly laborious mission which did not work)
  • Many solutions require the commissioning of the windows store.  This does not work because the Windows store does not start
  • Tried to use a local account not connected to my account windows live

That sounds as if it was a very common problem.  I not made any changes to my pc other allowing windows, windows store apps and avast updated normally.  I did take a snapshot of my PC I can restore.  I don't want to reinstall windows because I already did this time to solve another problem and then reinstall Office again (really annoying because I keep having to download).

Step 1:

Create a user account

Step 2: Copy old files to the new profile:

a. go to C:\Users\Corrupted_Profile_Name\. The name of the profile will be the corrupted ProfileName.

b. copy all files.

c. Open Panel and the display of folder options uncheck Hide protected operating system files.

d. navigate to C:\Users\Corrupted_Profile_Name and copy the Appdata folder.

Note: Do not copy these three files. NtUser.dat, NtUser.ini, NtUser.log.

e. navigate to C:\Users\New_Profile_Name\.

f. Paste all files here.

    If it will be... open and go to... Tools / Options / Compatibility
    tab, and uncheck all filters / OK. Now reopen Windows

    I don't think it's something that 'suddenly' happened. Does not support the server you connect to SPA, so if you have this option, you will be not be been able to connect to this server. You may have changed the setting to try to solve another problem?

    Right-click on the account name in the folders pane, and then select Properties. On the servers tab, select connect with authentication in clear text. Then try send/receive for this account. If you see an error message, please copy and paste into your answer.

    OK, I'll try to uninstall / reinstall again (did not the first time), but when I went in the box to add / remove programs again once, I noticed the option repair, so I tried instead.  It worked!

  • I have a kodak w100 webcam which has stopped working.

    I tried to get drivers updated kodak online but can't. I have uninstalled and installed software and unplugged and pluged in the USB several times, in different ports. nothing seems to work. The camera runs on another computer. It also shows a picture in the kodak software if I lower resolutions and it shows and image in microsoft silverlight config. It will not work on Skype or windows messenger. When I check the Device Manager, it appears like device usb video #1,2,3 depending on which usb port I plug it in and not the name of the webcam. As I said use to work, I tried the system restore, but it goes back only to dec. someone has any ideas

    The problem is cause by the d2d1.dll being altered, corrupted or deleted file. A restore of the system should do the trick.

    To access the feature system restore, go to 'Start', select 'All programs', choose 'Accessories', click on the "System Tools" folder and select "System Restore". Choose "Create a Restore Point" on the first screen and follow the instructions of each window to create a backup of the system.
