Location for the control file
Dear friends,It's my backup script
RUN {}
cross-checking of backup;
overlap archivelog all;
backup INCREMENTAL level 1 format='PATH\%U_%I_%T.bkp database ' tag = 'everyday_full_bkup. '
more archivelog format='PATH\Arch%U_%I_%T.arc' tag = arcbkp;
backup current controlfile;
Validate restore them database;
}
output
I don't know if my control file is also saved in the same location as the backupfile and archivelog tables.
If this is not the case, how can I save it in the same place?
Thank you very much.

control_files will show you files of instance control current runnig, without the aid of the controlfiles.
Use the backup controlfile format.
or check backup controlfile locations with RMAN

How can I specify location of the control file when the manual creation of DB?

The CREATE DATABASE command creates the control file.
CREATE DATABASE command is executed once you start the instance in NOMOUNT State as shown below.

SQL > create database 'BRCPRD '.

When you create the database manually, we can define the control_files parameter in the init.ora as below and control file will be created at this location. Right?
control_files = ("" / u01/oradata/BRCPRD/BRCPRD_control01.ctl","/u01/oradata/BRCPRD/BRCPRD_control02.ctl "")
When I was generating the DB using DBCA GUI creation scripts, it asks to enter the location of the Online redo logs and control files.
I entered my desired location. But, I couldn't find CONTROL_FILES parameter in the init.ora file generated the DBCA. This is why I got confused. I think that DBCA is internally somehow. So thought I'd post it here.
Hi John, OP
Just checked the init.ora file created by DBCA. Although the parameter CONTROL_FILES is undefined, db_create_file_dest = '+ DATA_DG1' was created. OMF default location is defined by the db_create_file_dest parameter.
So, I could safely use this script for the manual creation of DB, and during the CREATE DATABASE command execution, oracle will place CONTROL_FILES + DATA_DG1 using the format;

The best location for the .vswp file
I use RecoveProint EMC to replicate my virtual machine for use with MRS. While the implimentaion of EMC RecoverPoint recommended that we allocate a hard sepperate for pagefile guest on a non replicated operating system LUN as the page file on the guest has been constantly evolving. We have seen a significant reduction in the rate change that enabled us to reach the RPO we were after and with our bandwidth allocated for replication. I am able to reproduce the LUN for the swap of OS files once and leave. I'm utilizeing now the option "Migrate storage" with in VCenter to consolidate the VM running on a given LUN and I noticed that when I move a hard to the BONE (not hard for the OS swap) two hard files are transferred to the new location. Then I discovered that to move one of the files hard for a given virtual machine I have to turn off the virtual machine and to migrate the only hard. Not perfect, but whatever. To do this, I noticed that the "VM workplace" has been changed to the location of my guest operating system swap file hard.
It asked if it is a good place for hosting the .vswp. The .vswp has a significant amount of change as well? And as the OS swap hard matches the basically wiped clean during a restart?
Hope it makes sense.
The .vswp file is created on the virtual machine market. Its size is equal to the amount of UNRESERVED vRAM. This means that if you have a virtual machine with 4 GB of vRAM, but 3 GB is reserved, the .vswp is 1 GB. The .vswp is used as a last resort, if there is a physical RAM memory conflict. It is called after the transparent page sharing or balooning. If you allocate no more of RAM physical vRAM, then it will never be used. BUT, it is removed turn off power and created on the power. If the virtual machine is always on, so no worries with a bandwidth of replication.
You can place files .vswp on local storage or a separate logical unit number. As Andrew said, you can make this a whole cluster framework if you want. It's all about management. If you are comfortable with it being separated from the .vmx, nvram, etc.. Usually, the concern is the amount of what is essentially lost a costly LUN disk, so it is moved to the cheaper SCSI disk. Assuming that there is no oversubscription of RAM, it will never be used. Rather than taking up valuable disk space, why not just use a reserve of memory in order to avoid its use definitely?

How can I synchronize catalogs on 2 computers that use the same location for the image files?
I do not understand Lightroom.
For example, I use LR4.2 on a desktop computer and a laptop computer. Two computers (Windows 7 64-bit) go to the same image files. On my laptop in a folder, I have 42 master images and 5 virtual (virtual events) for a total of 47 images. But when I open LR4.2 on the desktop I do not see the 5 virtual (virtual events) on the 42 master images.
Why can not I see the 5 virtual events since I can access the exact file and how I see the virtual evidence created on the laptop on the desk.
It has no function in LR to synchronize catalogs.
If your pictures are on an external hard drive, you can move the file catalog to this external hard drive, and then you will have a catalogue on your desk and another on the laptop. Just use the one on your external hard drive.
If your pictures are on a network drive, you can not put the file catalog here, so the only answer I know is to manually transfer the catalog back from one computer to the other file.
Why can I not see the 5 virtual events since I can access the correct folder
Lightroom does not save your work to the photo files. It stores your work in the Lightroom catalog file.

How can I change the looks of Access Infrastructure Web location for the virtual machine files?

Hello
Add just like a new data store.
Login to your web access, select your host (not the virtual machines) in the left menu.
You should see a link on the right side with "Add data store", give it a name of store and add the directory.
Now, you can add a virtual machine to this place.
Good luck!

Get the former locations of the data files and Redo logs
Version: 11.2
Platform: Solaris 10
When we manage hundreds of DBs, we do not know the locations of all DB files these allows DBs. say a DB goes down and you have all the required RMAN backups.
When you restore the DB in a new location in the path of the new server, you must run the commands for the data files and ORLs below. But how do we know
The former location of the data files.
B. the old location of redo online stores that I can run
runalter database rename file 'oldPath_of_OnlineRedoLogs' to 'newPath_of_OnlineRedoLogs' ; --- Without this command , the restored control file will still reflect the old control file location
run { set newname for datafile 1 to '/u04/oradata/lmnprod/lmnprod_system01.dbf' ; set newname for datafile 2 to '/u04/oradata/lmnprod/lmnprod_sysaux01.dbf' ; set newname for datafile 3 to '/u04/oradata/lmnprod/lmnprod_undotbs101.dbf' ; set newname for datafile 4 to '/u04/oradata/lmnprod/lmnprod_audit_ts01.dbf' ; set newname for datafile 5 to '/u04/oradata/lmnprod/lmnprod_quest_ts01.dbf' ; set newname for datafile 6 to '/u04/oradata/lmnprod/lmnprod_yelxr_ts01.dbf' ; . . . . . }
Hello
With the help of Oracle 11.2, you can use feature 'set newname for database' using OMF.
SET NEWNAME FOR DATABASE TO '/oradata/%U'; RESTORE DATABASE; SWITCH DATAFILE ALL; SWITCH TEMPFILE ALL; RECOVER DATABASE;
After the restore and recover databases (i.e. before resetlog open) you can do to rename redolog. Just a query column member from v$ logfile and deliver ' alter database rename file 'oldPath_of_OnlineRedoLogs' to 'newPath_of_OnlineRedoLogs ';
When we use the DSO is much easier to use OMF because Oracle automatically creates the directory structure.
But when we use the file system that the OMF does not serve due DBA dislikes system generated on file system names.If you don't like OMF file system, you can use the script on thread below to help restore you using readable for datafile names, tempfile, and redo.

Defining the new path for the data files for restoring using the VALUE of NEWNAME FOR DATABASE
Version: 11.2.0.3 Linux
Today, I had to do a restore RMAN to a new server and I came across the post following RTO on the VALUE of NEWNAME FOR DATABASE
ALTER database open resetlogs upgraded; error to throw
So, I thought to use it to indicate the new location of the data files to restore.
That's what I did

Restore the control file and catalog items to backup using the command of CATALOGUE START WITH. Then I started the restoration
Don't know how it worked for Levi without %f or %U. As you can see, RMAN restore data files to the desired location. I would have been better in execution of the order for each data below file$ mv 1 /fnup/hwrc/oradata/spikey/system01.dbf $ mv 2 /fnup/hwrc/oradata/spikey/sysaux01.dbf $ mv 3 /fnup/hwrc/oradata/spikey/undotbs01.dbf
Now, I think, there is no advantage in using NEWNAME SET of DATABASE to. Only the disadvantages. I did anything wrong above?SET NEWNAME FOR DATAFILE
Martin;
On the issue of the VALUE of NEWNAME FOR DATABASE, you must specify at least one of the first three of the following substitution variables to avoid collisions of names: %b f % U. see semantic entry for TO 'filename' for a description of the possible substitution variables.
You use %f
%b Specifies the filename without the fully qualified directory path. For example, the datafile name /oradata/prod/financial.dbf is transformed to financial.dbf. This variable enables you to preserve the names of the datafiles while you move them to different directory. During backup, it can be used for the creation of image copies. The variable cannot be used for OMF datafiles or backup sets. %f Specifies the absolute file number of the datafile for which the new name is generated. For example, if datafile 2 is duplicated, then %f generates the value 2. %U Specifies a system-generated unique filename. The name is in the following format: data-D-%d_id-%I_TS-%N_FNO-%f. The %d variable specifies the database name. For example, a possible name might be data-D-prod_id-22398754_TS-users_FNO-7.

the steps of the control file multiplexing
I am preparing for the OCP and I met the case below and I don't know which is the right answer.
So, could help the guys take the right one and explain why?
144: you want to protect your database from single point of failure by multiplexing by the control file. Your database is started using SPFILE. You must perform the following tasks
1. stop the database instance;
2 copy the control to the new location.
3 configure the parameter CONTROL_FILES.
4 restart the instance.
Select the order in which these tasks must be completed:
(a) 1,2,3,4
(b) 3,2,1,4
(c) 3,1,2,4
(d) 2,3,1,4
the answer said c) is good.
Here is my explanation, please see if it's good?
to ensure the consistency of the control file before copying again place, we must stop the database.
Thus, the order is 2 must be after 1, so we got a) or c).
to configure CONTROL_FILES, you must start the instance at least, so we can eliminate one) and we left with c).
Correct me if I'm wrong.
Thanks to a bouquet.

My question is WHY NOT?
These two controlfiles are the same, and instance would only need or read one of them to go further, then why not be able to mount the DB?It's depends on the parameter control_files you have defined in the PFILE/SPFILE file...
multiplexing is to avoid the SPOF (single point of failure)...as you say, a lost controlfile... without informing you if the oracle database starts with unique controlfile... so, how can you know... If you continued if tomorrow you lost the other? While is it?

Icons of file type for the .docx files are incorrect
I started with a version of Microsoft Excel and Word Starter on my computer, but once I started University, I had to install a trial version of Office Professional. Since I installed the trial version and then uninstalled the starter version, my icons of file type for the .docx files resemble white pieces of paper. However, all other types of files shows an icon of Microsoft Word, such as for example .rtf files. Only the .docx icons are incorrect on the hard drive of the computer and to a flash drive I carry school (icons are correct on the flash drive on the school computers).I noticed several instances of this question which arises and have tried the following:

I have reset WordPad and return to the floor, but that did not always help.(3) I tried the command refresh of Cache icon through the Run dialog box.4) went through the registry to check the icon for docxfiletype, but my problem with this is that the icon for Microsoft Word is not a default system icon.I don't know what else I could try to fix this and I really should leave him alone because my files opens properly, but I think it's very boring and for some reason any he just in general that bothers me.Any other suggestions would be welcome!sacurasaturn, the professional office changed the icon to its own icon. they think it's better
