Location of the Mini PCI Slot on Satellite P10

Hi - I have a portable series of P10, PSP10E-0RCJM-EN.

It is initially provided without an internal WIFI card but a swith and LED indicator.

I hope to fit a suitable Mini PCI card.

I am likely to find that an antenna is already installed?

That more can someone guide me as to where is the slot mini pci and how to access it please?

I read the previous posts about the contacts of masking/insulation on the card wifi on this and other forums, so I'm ready for this problem when I get there.

I hope you can help, impatience of someone soon!

Graham

Hello

The wireless network card is an option on this unit. It is possible to switch this unit with the WLan card. The WiFi antenna should already be included in the specifications.
The WLan pci slot, you will find at the bottom of the unit.
It s close to the slot of the modem.
However, I would recommend consultation with the user manual. There you should find more details.

    Hello

I have a M10 Pro of the Satellite with a mini-PCI Intel Pro 2100. Now, I wanted to put in a new card, but I can't find the mini-pci slot? I opened all the way down, but there nothing. Where is it located and what is the best way to open the laptop? I guess a lot of screws must come out...

    Hello

Well, as far as I know the mini-PCI card is under the keyboard. In this case, you will need to remove the unit covers. But if you open Notepad, you will lose the warranty.
In my opinion, you should contact the ASP for help and detailed descriptions.

  • Satellite A100-028 - How to replace the mini-PCI WiFi card?

    Hello

I want to replace the Intel with a Module Atheros wireless card.
Unfortunately on the background there is no cover for the mini PCI Slot.
Where he is? I guess that they are under the top cover or under the keyboard.
Should I a short "How To" in this way:
Which screws I release that covers and so on are to be released.

    Thanks in advance.

    Hi Galdor,

It of not simple to change the W - Lan card.
The card ist under the keyboard and under the top cover.
You have to disassemble the entire and when you do that you lose your warranty.
I think it's the best for you to contakt a service point for this work.

  • R100 mini PCI slot

Is it possible for me to access the connector MINI PCI on my Portege R100? If so, how is it accessible? I want to upgrade the wireless network card.

    Thank you very much.

    Hello

I put t know exactly where is the MINI PCI slot. In my opinion, he may be somewhere under the keyboard. I don't really know if it's a good idea that makes you one. This is a very nice and in my opinion very sensitive unit.

In my opinion, this should be done by professionals. By the way your device supports wireless LAN / Wi - Fi Standard: 802. 11B and Wireless LAN / Wi - Fi Standard: 802. 11 b / g.

  • Satellite L10-204 does support mini PCI slot?

    Hello, all.
In a first time - sorry for my English ;-)
I would like to install a wireless card and I don't know if my computer (Toshiba Satellite L10-204) have a mini PCI slot? I prefer the mini PCI card PCMCIA card, because in my opinion, they are better in some aspects.
    DRM for me, cheers!

    Hmm? ¦ bad news man.
The wireless card is not available on this laptop and it cannot be upgraded too.
This means that WLan minPCI slot is not present.

You will need to switch to an external solution. Maybe an external USB WiFi key is an option for you. If this isn't the case, then you can use the PCMCIA WLan card!

    And here the question: WHY?

The led problem is still not resolved, wireless hardware switch too
Maybe someone here can help me

    Hello

Well, I put t know why it works after covering the pins.
Are you sure that the Wifi card is compatible with your laptop?

As far as I know if the Mini-PCI wireless adapter is compatible at 100% and the unit is Wireless ready it of only necessary to connect the white cable to the HAND and a black to the auxiliary voltage

    Thank you very much.

    Moral salvation

Well, in my opinion, you bought a bad wireless card. I don t think that your game can works with your device. Before you buy some hardware components, you need to check the compatibility of these parts. Toshiba service partners always have information about the units on the right. However, I found a wireless card that is compatible with your laptop. It's a PA3212U-1MPC.

  • Which of the three pcie slots is Gen 2.0?

My elite 9300z used motherboard Μatx-RS880-H and the specs page says he has 3 expansion slots: PCI Express x 16;  PCI Express Gen 2.0; and PCI Express x 1 socket minicards. Two of these slots are already occupied.  How will I know if the available pcie slot is Gen 2.0?  I want to install a 4-port USB 3.0 pci card.

Here are the specs of your motherboard:

Looks like the SATA news are messed up. You have 3 x 1 and 1 x 16 slot. They are all 2.0 by the spec. I let someone know here as the page is messed up. Thanks for bringing it to my attention.

  • Can not use the USB ports on my Satellite P10

I have a laptop Toshiba Satellite P10 3 years computer that has 3 USB ports. None of them works although the power is coming from them than my external mouse upwards but lights does not work. In Device Manager it says that everything is working ok IE all the drivers, etc. I was told that it's probably the motherboard?

Maplins it's a software problem. I tried a PCI card with USB port but they no longer work. The PCI location is fine but as my wireless adapter card works from there ok. I restored the computer 3 times and each time the USB ports do not work.
Any suggestions? I want to add an external mouse drive DVD etc...

    Any help appreciated... Mark

    Hello

Did you use the clean Toshiba Recovery CD to restore the operating system on your laptop or have you installed the operating system from the original Windows CD.
I advise to use the Toshiba Recovery CD because all the driver and patches installed on this CD.

The USB ports provide a current of 500 ma, and it is a standard. If several external devices connected to ports needs more power as 500mA, then it of possible that the laptop does not detect USB devices several.

In Device Manager, you may turn off the power save the unique option to the USB ports.
You can do this in the properties of the USB port

Additional I advise to use a USB hub with external power clean.
These devices are not very expensive and will allow you to connect and use several devices together.

  • Help with the driver DvD Ram for satellite P10

On my laptop (satellite p10) is Windows 2000 Professional running, but the driver DVD Ram of the Toshiba Homepage does not...
Where can I get a driver that works on my laptop?

    Hi Val,

The correct driver for your laptop running Wnidows 2000 should be version 3.0.8.0 and is available for download from the Web from Toshiba website.

I presume that it is the one that you tried, so I don't know what you mean when you say that "it doesn't."

  • Features of the engraver of DVD on Satellite P10

    Hello

It's a question purely and simply, and I hope that someone will be able to answer for me. I have a portable Satellite P10 Pro, which comes with a burner CDR/DVD combo a plug of burning of CD I bought a few new DVD discs today and even they will not read it puts a blank diskette in the drive. Can someone tell me what is the speed of this CDR/DVD... For example, I have a DVD disc - RW Packard Bell DVD with 1 x speed which takes place but will not be written to disk...?

I bought a new set of DVD disc that are 4 X speed and DVD writer will not acknowledge that there is a CD in the drive. It keeps ticking over and over again. Personall I think the DVD recorder it has popular, he played for a while now and I can't find anything in the documentation or user guide to inform you that the reading and WRITING speeds are the DVD burner. There is nothing on the disks of speed you can use...? Nothing about if this burner supports speeds of X 1, X 2, X 3, X 4 or X 8.

A little help would be appreciated.

    Hello

As far as I know Satellite P10 is one of the first models of laptops with DVD writer. The burning rate is not high. If I remember correctly the maximum speed for the DVD-R is 2 x and for only 1 X DVD - RW.

    Read speed is Max 4 x DVD-ROM, DVD - R and DVD - RW 4xmax.

This is as far as I know.

We got disc 2 (drivers) but no disc 1.

Where can I get an another restore disc 1. and what it cost around.

    Hello

Usually you could order the ASP in your country, but I m not very well that if you will be able to order this disc because the P10 is an old notebook series and possibly the recovery discs are not more available for this model.

However, you must contact the ASP in your country to get a confirmation.
Maybe you are a lucky man and the CD is available.

    Good luck
