W520 second half mini-pcie slot

Under full one keyboard and a half mini-pcie slots, plug w520 on page said 1 full, 2 half

Where is the slot in the second half?

There are only two mini-PCIe connectors in the W520. There are other cards (void / MDC, BDC, i/o) installed, but they are not mini-PCIe form factors.

    Hello

Well, as far as I know the mini-PCI card is under the keyboard. In this case, you will need to remove the unit covers. But if you open Notepad, you will lose the warranty.
In my opinion, you should contact the ASP for help and detailed descriptions.

  • Satellite L10-204 does support mini PCI slot?

    Hello, all.
In a first time - sorry for my English ;-)
I would like to install a wireless card and I don't know if my computer (Toshiba Satellite L10-204) have a mini PCI slot? I prefer the mini PCI card PCMCIA card, because in my opinion, they are better in some aspects.

    Hmm? ¦ bad news man.
The wireless card is not available on this laptop and it cannot be upgraded too.
This means that WLan minPCI slot is not present.

You will need to switch to an external solution. Maybe an external USB WiFi key is an option for you. If this isn't the case, then you can use the PCMCIA WLan card!

  • Location of the Mini PCI Slot on Satellite P10

    Hi - I have a portable series of P10, PSP10E-0RCJM-EN.

It is initially provided without an internal WIFI card but a swith and LED indicator.

I hope to fit a suitable Mini PCI card.

I am likely to find that an antenna is already installed?

That more can someone guide me as to where is the slot mini pci and how to access it please?

I read the previous posts about the contacts of masking/insulation on the card wifi on this and other forums, so I'm ready for this problem when I get there.

I hope you can help, impatience of someone soon!

    Hello

The wireless network card is an option on this unit. It is possible to switch this unit with the WLan card. The WiFi antenna should already be included in the specifications.
The WLan pci slot, you will find at the bottom of the unit.
It s close to the slot of the modem.
However, I would recommend consultation with the user manual. There you should find more details.

  • Satellite L10-155 and Mini-pci

    Hello

    I plan to buy a Satellite L10-155.
I know there is no mini-pci wireless network card installed, but my question is: is there an empty available mini-pci SLOT which could hold such a card?

    Thanks in advance

    Hi Ted

As much as I know this unit is not ready WLAN. That means there is no antenna and mini PCI card can not work at all. The only solution is the external device, as the card wifi PCMCIA or same WLAN USB stick.

    Hello
I need WLAN in my laptop. It is 1800-804 satellite. I found somewhere that 1800 has mini PCI slot, but it was mentioned only and I don't know anything more. Can I insert mini PCI WLAN card or am I stuck with PCMCIA? Where exactly this slot and can install this card by myself?

  • Satellite 2450-101 Mini PCI card please

I have a Satellite 2450-101, which is longer under warranty. I upgraded the memory and noticed a mini-pci slot with two waiting for a card antenna cables. I need a g card (the 3300 looks like a good bet). The manual refers to a mini-pci slot and the CD from the laptop comes with Atheros drivers for the same... I am currently using a PCMCIA card but want to spend money with Toshiba to get a good onboard solution. I called Toshiba who say that he is not a slot in my laptop... Please please don't refer me to a partner because I've never actually talked to one yet. Honest answer please... can I mount a mini-pci card... is the 3300 OK, and how do I join the cables (if this is difficult, I won't)...
    Thank you

    Hello

I found information that your device is ready for the Mini PCI Wireless card. As you know on the wireless card there are two connectors that are marked of PRINCIPAL and auxiliary normally a white cable goes to the ESSENTIAL and a black to the auxiliary voltage

Sorry, but I can't tell you exactly what wireless card will be the best for you. In my opinion, you should contact partner in your country. I'm sure they can give you correct information, which is compatible with your device and how much it will cost.

    Good luck!

  • Satellite A20-S103 WiFi mini PCI card need help

    Hello

I own a Toshiba A20-S103. When I bought the camera there not of wireless. I have the switch but wireless. I would like to install it but I don't like solutions card mainly because of the portruding antennas and special care, I imagine that you must have for such a solution (do not break the card because of the carelesness). Now, I opened my laptop and I have the empty mini PCI slot and the antenna cables. I found several mini PCI card on the Toshiba site in the communication options and accessories section. The problem I have now is that although I found two mini PCI card 802.11a/b/g, which seems to be compatible with my model, I can't decide which is the best because the information provided for each of them are the same. The only thing that seems to be different is the reference number (PA3318U-2MPC and PA3298U-1MPC). Also, there is a two 802. 11 b / g cards compatible with my model but even once, I can't make my decision due to the fact that the information provided for these cards is not helping to distinguish between them. Looking in the manual, I found that my model suports only 802. 11a / b (or at least what they say). And there's a mini PCI 802.11 g on the Toshiba site which is not compatible with my model. If it makes me wonder if I can get a card 802.11 g. I would really like it for the higher speeds that it will support. I don't want to pay more money to use a PCI 802.11a/b/g only to discover that I can just conect to 11 Mbps and not 54 or so... Also, I found on the internet of the 802.11 cards g that promise speeds greater than 54 Mbps. Toshiba provides such a solution? If not, are there maps 802.11 g third-party compatible with my model? I hope that there is someone out there who can help me sort this mess.

    Hi Stefan

It is not easy to give you a proper answer. In my opinion, it should work, but it is also important to install a suitable driver for the wireless card. I'm sure that it is possible to install the driver for another model mobile using the same wireless card. It will be perhaps better to contact the Service partner and ask them because they have such information and more experience with this sort of thing.

  • Satellite A100-028 - How to replace the mini-PCI WiFi card?

    Hello

I want to replace the Intel with a Module Atheros wireless card.
Unfortunately on the background there is no cover for the mini PCI Slot.
Where he is? I guess that they are under the top cover or under the keyboard.
Should I a short "How To" in this way:
Which screws I release that covers and so on are to be released.

    Thanks in advance.

    Hi Galdor,

It of not simple to change the W - Lan card.
The card ist under the keyboard and under the top cover.
You have to disassemble the entire and when you do that you lose your warranty.
I think it's the best for you to contakt a service point for this work.

  • Mini-pci wireless, RAM & CPU upgrade on S1000-z2

    Hello

I got my S1000-z2 again and finally decided to update it. Unfortunately there is very little technical info on the toshiba site / google, I'm looking for a little help:

    1. I believe this model has an empty mini-pci port. Is that correct, and can it be used for a wireless card.

    2. any body confirm the max ram installable cany? I've seen reports of 512 MB and 1 GB. As it's using an old bios (phoneix 2.10), I guess that 512 is correct. If anyone can confirm this?

    3. I guess that the CPU is not extensible?

    Thank you

    R

    Hello

I know this machine and the only information I can give you is:

1 it s not extensible, because the mini-pci slot is just for technicians and their weird testtools

    2. the maximum capacity of RAM is 1 GB

    3. No, it s not.

I receive this information, due to an "information tour" with a helpdesk phone-guy tosh because I got the same target as you. :)

    Welcome them

  • Satellite P10-304 - the card WiFi mini pci can add?

    Hello

    I have a Satellite P10-304.
I would like to add a mini PCI Wireless.
Can someone tell me one would suit this machine.

    Thank you

Do you see black and white antennas near the Mini PCI Slot?

If this isn't the case, then you can not install a Wifi card. He won't get any reception. You get a USB Wifi instead.

If you have the antenna, Intel 802.11bg card (2200BG) should work. http://www.Intel.com/support/wireless/WLAN/pro2200bg/

Its a good idea to buy the card from Toshiba (via an ASP) since the Wifi card can be modified to work correctly in the P10.
If you buy a generic MiniPCI Wifi card, he can switch Wifi does not work properly.

  • Install Intel 310 Soda Creek SSDS in X 201 mini-PCIe

I am wanting to install this 80 GB of SSD in available in my X 201 (3249-CTO) mini-PCIe slot:

    http://www.Newegg.ca/product/product.aspx?item=N82E16820167040

    or

    http://www.Newegg.ca/product/product.aspx?item=N82E16820167039

I've looked everywhere but I can't find the answers to some of the remaining questions I have before making the purchase.

-Is this the x 201 BIOS allow the start-up of a mini-PCIe mSATA peripheral?

-Once installed, the BIOS will determine it as a non-whitelist device and give an error 1802 on startup?

-ThinkWiki said that mini PCIe secondary housing can be usable or unusable, but based on what?

    - http://www.thinkwiki.org/wiki/Category:X 201

-To do this, I will put another mini-PCIe Wifi module I have the X 61

    Looking forward to your messages!

Hi guys. I don't think that it will always work. Only new systems (based on the Huron River) coming out this year will support the SodaCreek 80 GB mSATA disks.

The planar must have a special line run from mini-PCIe SATA for this former player to be recognized/bootable - so planars as X 201 are just not compatible. I know the planars in the next classic ThinkPad (T, W and X) will support it and the new Edge E220s & E420s will be. But I don't know if the lowest cost systems like regular edge 14/15, series L/SL, or X120e will support it or not.

  • Lenovo Mini PCI-E Slot P500 locations?

    Hello

Happy holidays ~! Hope everyone is having a great time.

I need help to determine if the Z500/P500 manual material actually told the truth or not.
According to page 27 of the manual of the equipment to the Z500/P500 Ideapad, there are 2 Mini PCI-Express slots:

"PCI Express Mini Card Slot: Slot 2.

That means actually? To me, it sounds like there are 2 mini PCI-Express slots somewhere on the motherboard, but when I opened it upward, I only found one, and it was taken over by the Wi - Fi card. I looked under the slot where the Wi - Fi card has been, but I couldn't find another location.

Can someone tell me where is the second Mini PCI-Express slot? I looked carefully through the motherboard, but I couldn't find the other - I hope it was just because I haven't looked hard enough.

    Assistance specialists have an answer?

Thank you very much for your time and once again, happy holidays!

    -Zoey

    Hi Zoey

It is confirmed that the computer that you have only 1 location but this machine could be found also with two slots as the Z500

    Thank you

  • The NB305 has a mini PCI-E slot?

    Hello
    I have a NB305 (PLL3AA-01E009), I have purchased from HN about 3 months ago.

I just read with interest on Whirlpool where a guy pulled apart his Aircard 880U and adapted from the mini pci-e card in his laptop computer "Dell".

As my NB305 has a light for WWAN (at the front), but no hardware, I wonder if she has the pci - e slot, where I too may be able to adapt this card?

I checked the specifications and is no pci-e slot - but the light on the front gives me hope!

    See you soon,.
    Rick

The light in the front doesn't say much. Loan of equipment (slot, antenna) and compatibility is important.
If I understand you well this guy that write you about has probably changed his address. What you want to change on your laptop?

If you want to use the AirCard 880U USB version of this card check card.
