• find police and ignore locked layers

  Hello

  I have a document with a number of layers and want to 'find the police' and change fonts thoughout just a layer. But even with the other layers locked and hidden Indesign wants to investigate in these layers, which I do not want to change.

  Is there a way to 'find the fonts' and change the font, although it looks through the other layers? Unfortunately, it is not as "Find/replace" where you can specify locked or non-locked layers.

  I found absolutely nothing about it here.

  Is the text on these layers unique in some way, such as the clause may be invoked or the styles used? If you can isolate the text in this way you can use find/replace.

• How can I find all locked layers (visible or not) and then unlock all at once?

  OK, for anyone who cares here is the scenario.

  I was on a tight schedule. I got a massive records in layers, - nested all - .psd

  I use Photoshop CS 5.5

  I need only the visible layers.  So, I'm going to 'Delete hidden layers' right? Oops it is grey, I couldn't use it - Ahhh, that was because of the locked layers...

  No problem. Ugh wait.

  Then I realized - in the structure of the complicated layer that I had to go through every single folder, open it, look for a locked layer and unlock it (folders nested inside the files nested etc..). If the layer was not visible and it was locked, I had to start by putting visible, then unlock it and turn it off, then turn it back on.

  Aaaarrggghhh I was on a deadline and I didn't just have the time - but I had to do it anyway.

  It was a painful experience... I tell you right now, designers on SEND me A PSD WITH LOCKED LAYERS MORE EVER

  It would have been so much easier if I could just get 'locked in layers' and "unlock everything."

  Does anyone know of a solution? Probably something I should have known years, or perhaps a feature request?

• Locked layers ghosts?

  I work in Illustrator CS5.

  I just changed the text in the program when suddenly layers of text suddenly "shut up." While the layer itself is not locked, I can no longer select or edit text. Whenever I have click on the object, it highlights, but double-clicking does not isolate it groups or allows me to edit the text. By clicking on the text tool invites only a new layer to open.

  This happened after I accidentally hit Ctrl B assuming that was going to "BOLD" a Word without thinking. I cancel everything, my back had. Even restarted the program but nothing has changed.

  What could be the problem?

  Update: I have reset locks on all my layers, even those who were not locked, and everything seems to have been returned to normal. Weird.

• Why the 'object lock' command now lock layers instead?

  I'm on a mac using Illustrator CC 2015 (19.2.0). Since the last update, the command of locking an object (if there is a single object on a layer) now just locks that layer, rather than the object. I don't want to lock the entire layer, just the object.

  Similarly, "release all" now just unlock ALL layers, instead of just the items locked on a selected layer. In this case if I am using the command quick-key, or by selecting the command from the menu.

  It is annoying because I just want to unlock an item 'locked' on a layer, not unlock all layers in my document. Whenever I want to unlock something, I have to go back and re - lock all other layers and complex diagrams that can be dozens of layers with nested layers!  Is this a bug or a 'new '?

  Note: This does not apply to documents more alumni who have been created/saved before the last update, but applies to every new document that I create, even after the sacking of my preferences.

  Skullcat sorry, even with sublayers in CS6 remind us to never be able to selectively release all.

  To unlock the special background layer in a document, double-click its thumbnail in the layers panel. If you Opt/Alt + double click, the dialog box will be avoided.

• Find/replace preference - include locked, locked layer the objects (Find only)

  I was wondering if anyone can help, I'm trying to make sure that the option "Include Locked layers and objects locked (research only)" on the box search/replace is active when the script below is executed because when it is disabled the text find/replace does not check locked layers and objects.

  In InDesign this icon located in the Find/Replace dialog box, a little less the "search:" drop down menu, icon of the left hand.

• All content of the home page is now locked

  I've built a new site of unique to the Muse page that is almost complete. The client will eventually want to add pages in the future. I have just two pages in the site, Master A and the homepage which has been established since that master: has.

  I am aware that I did all the work to the Master page with the homepage was updated accordingly. However, I took a glance at the homepage of jut and I see that the foot and the length of the page are incorrect. The problem I have now is that all the Muse will allow me to this homepage is now move 3 sliders for the header and the bottom of the browser etc.

  All content on the homepage is completely blocked and I'm not able to select nothing ion this page at all. I tried all the obvious things I can think of, locked layers, articles, etc., but nothing works. I tried to create new master pages and a new homepage and even glued all the elements of A Master in an all new site, but still all of the content on the home page is locked. I need to get the site place ASAP would be so grateful if someone can help me solve the problem.

  Master pages are intended to be used to hold the items that will be repeated on many of the pages of your site (i.e. the header, navigation and footer). The elements on a master page cannot be selected on the master page is applied to pages. You can disable the non-maitre content (the other thing than the header and footer) of your master page and paste it on your actual page. Once it's on your actual page it will be editable there.

• Locking objects

  Is it possible to lock an object? This would be ideal for background images, so you don't accidentally move it in all directions when you work with other objects or running in the application itself. You can lock layers complete the draw - something similar to this would be ideal. Edit: I lied, you cannot lock in the draw. But still.

  Aside from that, good! In love with the power of this new program!

• Set effectsActive on a locked layer

  I have a script that activates / deactivates the fx power switch for layers in my computer, I wrote.  It is really convenient and speeds up a bit of my workflow.  The only problem is when I have my locked layers, it won't let me set the effectsActive attribute.  I can switch the fx power switch in the user interface when the layer is locked without any problem.  Why I can't do this via a script.  Is there a work around for the purpose intended?

  Background

  This is a new installation using Setup Adobe CC CC (2015.5) PS, Illustrator InDesign CC, CC (2015.3) (2015)

  Windows 10

  Here is my problem (s)

  When I open Photoshop, Illustrator or InDesign do not work the pouncing tools and/or transformation

  I can create a new work plan, select the text tool, create the size of the area that I want to type the text to, and then type the text.

  Once I'm done typing the text I'm more able to make modifications to the bounding box that the text is in with the mouse.

  I can move the box with the arrow keys

  Can I change the font size, color, type, etc.

  I can't highlight the text with the mouse

  I can't resize the frame of

  If I try to create a new text box it shows only a black square with a blinking cursor that I can't type, no bounding box.

  I tried the same thing with graphics and get the same results.

  I tried.

  CTL + shift + t
  CTL + shift + h

  reset the tool and all the tools

  Clearing preferences

  Make sure that the software is up-to-date

  reset

  We ensure no locked layers

  verification of free transform from the menu and with the keyboard shortcut.

  What I have not tried is uninstalling and reinstalling. I am reluctant to do so because of bandwidth caps in my area, but if there is no other choice I can uninstall and reinstall.

  Once again thanks for any help, I am about ready to cancel my monthly subscription to Adobe and use an older version from the unusable software at this point and has been for the past two months.

  I write my answer him just in case someone else has the same problem.

  After working with support, I discovered the problems is the result of a program call Synergy.

  I use synergy as software based KVM to control multiple computers with one mouse and keyboard. Once I disabled the software, I was able to use Photoshop, Illustrator, etc., as expected.

• Move the tool does not - I can choose, but not actually move anything

  ElCapitan - 10.11.3

  I'm running the latest InDesign CC2015. It works fine on my Windows Surface. It has just stopped working - nothing has changed. No update of the software system or InDesign itself. The tool move will select things, but I can't move anything. Not locked layers or something like that - it does not work in any new or existing document. I can move objects with my arrows. Basically, InDesign is unusable. I teach InDesign - so not a beginner... pretty sure it's a weird or any bug just popped up.

  I deleted the cache and user prefs and it did nothing.

  Eugene - I have reset my preferences. InDesign does the 'normal' way as you suggest, I went and deleted the files. And InDesign don't always co-oporate - but thanks for the obvious - have you read the part about I am instructor certified Adobe and not a beginner?

  He works today. I have problems with Lightroom do not behave properly yesterday. When I tried to look in my application cloud creative, which has been 'broken', too. Everything worked except the applications screen, who turned just as it was loading, but would not actually load. This happened to me before. You cannot uninstall the app CC - in fact he has a fit and said that you always have installed applications. Then... I have re-installed manually cloud creative after that I reinstalled manually Lightroom and now everyone seems to be working as they should - for now.

• Why I can't get a hit with the find/replace glyphs palette. Faces of fonts checked.

  

  I received a copy (word doc) with a table using glyphs Sq Root in place and place check marks. Looking to find replace but GREP and text can't seem to manage the ROOT SQUARE or check MARK glyphs. If the glyphs tab of course right?

  Providing I still exact characters corresponding and no delicate Adobe fonts not anchored object with font substitution, that I can't seem to make a match with the glyph of the SQUARE ROOT.

  No idea why? Attack from a previous thread on my confusion even find these glyphs of fonts that appear to contain them who do not.

  Hey thanks for this tip, I've seen this kind of keyboard shortcuts commands, but never thought to use it in this situation. It turns out that, because the glyph is in a table , I need to set the "Include locked layers and locked objects (FindOnly)" even if the layer is not locked, I suppose that the tables are "locked" per class.
