Locked out of the account on my laptop Dell Inspiron 1525 Windows Vista

I have a dell Inspiron 1525.  It's windows vista currently.  I have the main account and the user account.  I made a password reset disk, but it says that an error occurs whenever I'm trying to reset the password of the main account.  I don't know what to do to reset the password to get into my computer.

Hello

You must make a password reset disk until you have forgotten your password, not later.

I heard that after a few years of use, Windows-based computers lose their ability to function. This happened to me before and I bought a new laptop. Now, I think that it happens again. The laptop (Dell Inspiron) with Windows 7 Home Premium is now slow to most of the activities - loading of the pages in the browser, etc... He is also declining my VPN connection occasionally, but also my direct connection is very slow. Latency shows speedtest software provided by the ISP in addition of 250 ms, download speed of 1 MB/s (compared with 8 planned) and 0.05Mbps download. The ISP has corrected this once, but I'm wondering now if it is the computer which is slow rather than on the network because my laptop works well on the same network/router. Is there one solution to this other than another new laptop?

    Jonathan,

You say that your computer is slow, but all of the examples you give are rather than slow computer operations slow network communications.  To avoid any unnecessary work, check how fast the computer is on the tasks that don't use any network.

If it works fine for tasks not network then you can concentrate on the problems of network as being the only concern.

It has also become very slow for no network tasks you should study other causes.  Just as an example: If, like me, you sleep / turn off the computer when you are not using it then defrag will never work, so you can run it manually to make sure that doesn't cause problems.   Describe your symptoms in this thread so that someone can advise on the best course of action.

In the unlikely case where you must run Dell Factory Image Restore, then the instructions are in your manual PC *.  Before doing this, run Dell Datasafe Local Backup then click on Backup, recovery to create - media allows you to create a bootable USB of the partition that you can use the normal procedure that failing Dell Factory Image Restore [to do this, even if you have already solved your problems so that you could face if the hard drive has failed never completely].

    Hello

Don't need you to worry, by making use of the formatted partition recovery software you can easily recover files after formatting the hard disk partition. Few days back, I spent the same similar problem where in lost some important files due to the installation of the OS. Then I tried this recovery software which really helped me to recover files after the installation of the operating system. So, you can download this software by following the below mentioned links.

  • Turn off the tap to click on Dell Inspiron 1525 with Windows Vista

Can someone tell me how to disable "tap to click" on the touchpad of my laptop?

I have a Dell Inspiron 1525, running Windows Vista.  It's the standard touchpad I mind, it has not been upgraded.

Other forums have suggested to go to the control panel > hardware and sound > mouse, but once I'm there, I only "buttons," "Pointers," "Pointer Options" and "hardware".  There is no option to disable "Tap to click" referred to one of them.

I've updated all the drivers - Windows tells me I have the latest version, if this doesn't fix the problem.

My hands are too big to type without hitting the touchpad!  So frustrating.  I accidentally moved my slider three times during the composition of this post.  Someone help me please!  That's four times now.

    I thought about it!

Under computer > C: > drivers > entry > R176423, I ran DPInst.  He installed the Dell Touchpad option in my taskbar to bottom left.  After the reboot, I was able to open a more in-depth version of my touchpad, where I could uncheck "Tap to click".  _ Yes!

Thanks for all your help, man.  I really appreciate it.  It's really a positive manifestation of the human condition when the volunteers their expertise selflessly to help others.  Keep up the good work, and I hope that this thread will stay up to help someone else in the future.

  • I have re-installed Windows Vista on my laptop (Dell Inspiron 1525) and now my wireless does not work.

Hi, I have re-installed Windows Vista on my laptop (dell insparon) 1525 and now my wireless does not work. ive tried re installing driver, but it says operating system not supported. I used the disc that came with the computer of the re install and I even tried to install service pack 1. .

original title: Wireless problems after install.

I just tried both, the dell is one that says OS not supported"and the intel, it went very well, but my 'network controller' still have a yellow top thing in Device Manager. and I always wireless. any other ideas? Thank you for the help

Question...  You have whatever it is listed in the "Network adapters" section of "Device Manager" now?

While ensuring that the exclamation point is not for your wired network device (plausible) or bluetooth (plausible) and you just need to configure your wireless network to connect to * your * wireless network now.

You may have to contact Dell to see why none of their drivers receive your wireless device works on the original operating system, what they included.  This could be a hardware problem PURE.

Check with the manufacturer of system support, documentation in line, or forums as there

  • Favorites synchronization of laptop Dell which uses Windows Vista for my HP Envy that uses Windows 8.1

Somehow when I installed my HP Envy, I was able to get the Favorites of my Dell laptop which uses Windows Vista in Favorites on my desire that has Windows 8.1. Now, they are not there and I don't know how to recover. Tried the system restore, but no luck.

    Hello:

If you are referring to the favorite links to Internet Explorer, it's what I do...

Get a USB and navigate to your Vista username account and copy the Favorites folder on the flash drive.

Plug the USB on your new PC W8.1, go in your user name folder and copy the Favorites folder in this window and let it overwrite the existing Favorites folder, as you see here.

After the Vista Favorites folder replaces the empty Favorites W8.1 folder, you should be all set when you open Internet Explorer on your new PC.

  • Inspiron 1525 / Windows Vista replaced but disc will not load the drivers

Inspiron 1525 (6/2008) hard drive failed.    Bought a Western Digital spare hard drive 500G (WD Blue) SATA III 5400 RPM.   (NOTE: this is the 2nd replacement hard drive because I bought the 1525... the first time I replaced the hard drive, everything worked as it should.) Original hard drive was a Seagate).

Replacement hard drive installation is installed it will not load the Vista OS from the disk to the operating system (which came with the laptop) because it does not recognize the driver for the hard disk.

I tried downloading the latest drivers from the Dell site, but which did not work or the other.

As I said, the previous hard drive replacement (an another western digital) works perfectly when I reinstalled the Vista operating system in 2010.

    Any ideas?

    Thank you...

Thanks for the detailed instructions.   I tried everything, but it didn't work.

Then I read about someone trying to install the same on an Inspiron 1545 hard drive and need to adjust the drive to align with the connectors using paper and another person was using the foil which made me realize that it was a problem of 'size' or 'worthy '. I then decided to open the laptop and manually set the new drive in place and everything works now. (Dell 1525 has a side load drive holder therefore had to open to make this setting correctly).  The player on the 1525 is 9.5 mm thick, but the new disc is 7 mm... even though the sales page for this player said he would fit a 9.5 mm slot.

    Everything is good now.

  • How can I reclaim the space on a recovery Dell Inspiron 1525 (D) disc?

There is a message constantly popping up on a lack of space on the disk Recovery (D). The State is free of 9,76 Go 11.7 MB. Positions the most important seem to be 3.43 GB dell, Windows 38.7 MB, 6.63 MB files and tools 1.52 MB

How can we eliminate some of this, or what other solution y at - it the problem?

You should get in touch with Dell, or the other official support from Dell or the Dell forums.

MediaID.bin is a file created by Windows backup utility.  It seems as if you have run Windows Backup and Restore and save the backup on the D: drive.  This could be very easily which occupies the space.

No icon for the look of computer folder LAPTOP as a normal folder icon or does look like this:

There may be a few hidden files, too much space.  Download TreeSize Free and run a scan on the D: drive.  Don't forget to right click and select "run as Administrator" during the execution of TreeSize Free.

After the scan, do not forget to click on the arrows to expand each folder to see the analysis of which is located in the folder.
