Lockout policy impact on the built-in Administrator account password

Using the elevated command prompt, I programmed an account lockout threshold wide system.  This policy affects all accounts except the built-in Administrator account.

What settings should I set to force the built-in Administrator account to comply with the policy of /lockoutthreshold net accounts?

Affected systems:

  • Windows 7 Home Premium

I don't think that you can activate for local administrator or domain administrator. Because in the case of a system crash, these two things are those who can unlock the pc/account.

  • Changing the built in Administrator account?

In Windows 7, I used the built in Admin account. Now, I've upgraded to Windows 8 my account cannot use Windows 8 Apps. Is there one solution other than to start a new account? I don't want to spend all my photos, videos, etc. and reinstall all my programs under a new account if possible and I don't want that two accounts.

I just finished by making a new account and move with the resettlement of things. A big problem that I had was that I ended up not having permission to use my own photos! I had to go to the security settings to correct this.

  • Need to remove the built-in Administrator account.

    Original title: profile

I have a Director profile that is on my computer that I did not koow was on the computer because it is used. I don't have anyone to go into the person that I bought the computer because I bought it on amazon. I know that the only way to remove adminstrative profiles is for someone else to connect to my computer to delete. Can you help me? In fact, the only reason why I found it was there I started the computer in safe mode, and then it appeared. The strange thing is that the version of Xp that I bought is only the version I use. So I don't understand how that's possible. If I had a close friend I would ask for help, but right now I do not know anyone who can help remote

The 'administrator' and 'guest' account is integrated and cannot be deleted.  All Windows installations have a.  As you have discovered, it is not visible unless you start mode without failure.  The default password is blank for the administrator account (click top and hit at the password prompt).  If you are worried about someone access your computer using this account, then simply change the password.   This account allows you to take control of the recovery of your computer should you not be able to use your user name.

  • Card reader net use works with only built-in Administrator account

I currently have a windows 7 PC that I use net use in the cmd file to map the drive to Windows server 2008.

It works if I use the built-in Administrator account / password but I tried another account that is in the administrator group on the server and I get errors.

NET USE X: \\IPADD\c$\inetpub\ftproot password / User: adminuseraccount

    NET USE X: \\IPADD\c$\inetpub\ftproot password / User: server\adminuseraccount

After you change the net use command in various ways, the 2 following errors are what I mean most of the time:

    1219 system error has occurred.

Multiple connections to a server or a shared resource by the same user, using several
that the a user name, are not allowed. Disconnect all previous connections to the
Server or shared resource and try again.

    OR

    System 5 error has occurred.

    Access is denied.

I have watched a lot of research on this but cannot get this to work.

Also, one thing that I think make changes the built-in name admin and the password.  What is a safe thing to do?

    Hello JoeD.Thomas,

These are the conditions to be able to run applications.

Make sure your screen resolution is at least 1024 x 768

Make sure that the (UAC) user account control is enabled. Press the Windows key and from the splash screen, type UAC, and on the right, select settings.  Select change user account control settings and check here.

You can clear the Cache store to see if it helps. :
Right click on the start screen.
    Click run.
    Type of WSReset.exe

If this does not work then try to run the System File Checker
Run the System File Checker to see if any corrupt system files.
    1. type cmd on the start screen.
    2. right-click on it and select run as administrator.
3 type the following command and press ENTER: SFC/scannow

The problem with the built-in Administrator account is that it automatically ignores the user account control settings, and it is required to run the Apps Store.

You must turn on User Account Control (UAC).

Open Control Panel / user accounts.

Select the change user account control settings.

The cursor must be on 3rd down option.

After you make a change, click OK .

The steps provided by Ronnie Vernon.

Let us know if that helps your question of apps.

    Thank you

  • Rename a built-in Administrator account

I have a slightly damaged built-in Administrator account: the name was changed. Is it possible to rename 'Administrator' once again, so that it would correspond to the rest of the machines in this office?

    Windows 7 Home, sp1; Laptop HP - G72

It can apparently not (easily) be given back its original name

As I mentioned before, have a renamed administrator account doesn't hurt.

The key to your question is in the word "easily" in your answer. To restore the original name of the administrator, you can use this advanced control:
    NET user administrator /Fullname:Administrator

If we want to have separate iTunes accounts running from Windows 10 separate user accounts can I download iTunes on the first main administrator account, or does download it separately in our own Windows user account

Install it from the admin account, and then all user accounts will be able to use it.

  • Windows 7, the deactivation of my built-in Administrator account

I activated the account administrator built into my laptop with Win7, and this is the account I use normally. I created another user with administrator privileges and a few days after windows has started to disabled the built-in account.

The second administrator account is not so much, but I had created. Currently every 30 minutes that I see that the administrator account is disabled and windows do appear for this second user credentials when I need to run an application or a command as an administrator. It is very annoying, how do I solve this problem?

User accounts get disabled when too many failed attempts to logon is performed, such as defined in the security policy. A connection attempt may be one of them:

    -An attempt to connect interactively
-An attempt to run a scheduled task
-An attempt to connect to a resource shared as a shared folder or printer.
You can check your current account with the secpol.msc command policy settings. You can cause logon attempts will be followed in the same place under local policies / Audit policy. Then the will generate a log viewer (eventvwr.exe) events.
  • Is there any way to enable the Built in Administrator on Windows 8 to use Metro Apps?

    Hi Kazim,

Thanks for posting your query in Microsoft Community Forum.

In addition, I really appreciate your efforts by providing descriptive information on the issue. However, I would like to know some more information to refine the question and provide you with better assistance.

    1. You did it any significant hardware or change software on the computer before this problem?
    2. The problem is specific to the built-in weather app?
    3. Do you use a proxy connection to connect to the internet?
    4. You have security software installed on your computer?

The question may arise if there is a corruption in the specific application, due to internet connection proxy, date and time incorrect or due to one-third of the anti-virus firewall is blocking the connection. Therefore, in order to diagnose and resolve the issue, I suggest you to try the following steps and check if the problem persists.

    Method 1:

    Step 1:

Please go to the link below, download the file and run it.

    Run applications troubleshooting

Download and run the troubleshooter modern UI App.

    http://download.Microsoft.com/download/F/2/4/F24D0C03-4181-4E5B-A23B-5C3A6B5974E3/apps.diagcab

    Step 2:

I suggest to go through the link and follow the given procedure. Here is the link for your reference.
What to do if you have problems with a soft

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-GB/Windows-8/what-troubleshoot-problems-app

If the problem persists, try the following method.

    Method 2:

I suggest you try the steps mentioned below and see if it works for you.

    Step 1:

Ensure that User Account Control (UAC) is enabled. Press the Windows key and from the splash screen, type "UAC" and on the right, select settings.
Select change user account control settings and check here.

    Step 2:

Check that the Date & time zone is correct or not:

Follow these steps to change the time.

    1. Double-click the current time on the lower right of your screen.
    2. Then click on change time date, and then click change time zone.
    3. Select your time zone and check automatically adjust the clock for the time, then press OK.
    4. Then press on apply and OK.

    Method 3:

If you got in third-party antivirus installed on your computer, I suggest you temporarilydisable it. The third of the anti-virus firewall sometimes became a major cause of the issue.

If the problem does not occur after you turn off the anti-virus, try reinstalling the anti-virus.

Note: Antivirus software can help protect your computer against viruses and other security threats. In most cases, you should not disable your antivirus software. If you need to disable temporarily to install other software, you must reactivate as soon as you are finished. If you are connected to the Internet or a network, while your antivirus software is disabled, your computer is vulnerable to attack.

Hope this information is useful. If the problem still persists, please post back for further assistance, we will be happy to help you.

  • Lost for the administrator account password.

I created two accounts in Windows Vista, an administrator account and the other a basic user account.  Unfortunately, it was a long time ago and I hadn't used the administrator access is some time and I forgot the password.  Now I can't access all the functions that require administrator rights.  Is there a way to 'reset' of the administrator account or create a new account administrator without initial password?

... My teacher said that I can use these forums to get a response, so here I am...

Your Professor won't. It is not the purpose of these forums for coaching someone in how to circumvent or otherwise break administrative password. Administrative passwords are there for a reason and should be respected.

Assuming that "burn all programs" does not mean "'software piracy ', ask the person who created the passwords to transmit them to you or give you sufficient permissions to achieve what you're trying." If this can be done for some reason, reinstalling Windows and set your own passwords.

  • Cannot change the type of administrator account during an administrator account

Hello I seem to be stuck with the normal start safe mode and tried several things without success.
So far I used Safeboot/restart and restart with normal startup and "clean boot" method of
following the suggestions on the Microsoft Web site. Also reset all services by default. Whenever I try to start a service, it gives me the error 1084: Windows could not start the Windows Service on Local computer error 1084: this service cannot be started mode without failure or error 1068 "the dependency Service or group could start. Only some of the services have actually begun. Also, I can't in some documents and files, such as Documents and Settings and Config.Msi. With the error "there is no location (path) is not accessible"access denied" Almost all set so that it starts in the service is stopped and does not let me start with the same 2 errors. I tried to use the Windows Defender update option after the beginning of his service and I come with error found: Code 0x8007043c. I went to check if I had administrative rights by setting account type for my account current (user) who says it's an administrator account already, but he said that it is standard. When I try to switch to administrator it just combines the button "change account Type". At this point I don't know what to do besides restore my registry. I can provide a few previous actions if you need. I don't think I'm going to tinker with things more far away, however, in fear of complicating it. Any help would be appreciated.

Don't give me the option to the Windows recovery environment in the startup options (F8), although it could be F2 or F12, I noticed for another set of options to start the computer (Windows Vista Ultimate). Furthermore, after being not able to use the WIndows recovery environment, I just went ahead and used Directory Services Restore Mode. After doing this I used the system restore and restored to the last point that he had saved and it solved the problem - once he had fixed services. I want to note also that, File Checker (SFC.exe) system, fixed a problem I was experiencing a lot more before with my computer takes about 3 minutes to start. Now it is lightning fast. Thanks for the help, and I hope this helps others who have the same problem (s).
