Logo design (quality)

Hi, I would like to create a

professional looking logo, but I'm having a problem.

With the help of photoshop, I am not satisfied by the sharpness of the edges of fonts, I tried most of the sizes and resolutions. I also used the different anti alias settings.

I'm looking to get the edges perfect to the text, any idea?

see you soon

Mark

Photoshop is not the right tool for the creation of logo.

You need a piece of vector editor.

Consider Illustrator, Freehand, CorelDRAW, Inkscape or any number of related programs.

Logos must be used for many different projects. It is better to be resolution independent vector illustration. As a result, Illustrator is your best choice.

  • Logo design for customers

Hello world. I recently started working on the logo designs. Its good to go.

I wanted to ask is: do we need to design several logos for a single logo work, so that the customer can choose one of the different options. ???

    Thank you

Although it is not a question that is related to Adobe Illustrator (it might have been better posted Graphic Design Forum - Graphic Design Forum)

To answer your question - it really depends on the client, type of logo work, customer budget.

When you are performing work designs of logo/brand to customers, in general, there is a brief customer initially and at a meeting in which you get a good idea of the wishes of the customer, the company, requirements, what they like, dislike. Based on the customer-memory you would design then several logos. In some companies if logo/brand is again several designers could first develop logos, these are presented to the client with additional information explaining the logic/email design. The client will review these initial designs and provides feedback them, after which the creator is working on the logo designs more. They might come up with new ideas for logo and drop some original logo ideas based on feedback from customers. Finally, a logo is chosen which will be perfect and becomes the final logo for the customer.

  • Logo design/use, help!

People, I'm having a dilemma here (in my mind)? Doing work for co. a friend who also lists the "graphic design" as one of their offers. One of the clients that we have done some work for opening new restaurant and needs a logo. He wants the logo final original in the file format HAVE for "future use" and to have others can use as it sees fit for any need! I have already told my friend that it is not acceptable to me and do not want to create logo (already sent several roughs!) and should not be for him/them (his partner). Offered in PDF and other options without result. I try to stay professional (recent grad later in life!) in the way that I work, but I'm tired of not being able to put my skills to work (or make money). Sorry, there is much more to this AND my questions, but I think that should be enough to make a difference. What to do... (sigh)  Thanks in advance for any help-suggestions

A bit clearer now, although I don't really understand this point: when you did the roughs for this logo were you working for the company of your friends?

In all cases above all sketches were presented or even begin to think about how an agreement had to be made. It would have been time to say $400 as a logo design costs. Then the client could say yes or go elsewhere.

Now you play capture upward and the 'customer' has already sketches. Difficult situation. Sorry about that.

Ensure that costs, rights, how many revisions, etc. are clear before that you start even thinking about a job. You need a contract - then there is no nagging question. If you search the internet there are a lot of samples out there.

As to what to do now, if it will affect your future negatively (i.e. your friends work) then maybe it's best to just do Flex. Or maybe it's too much of an insult. It's a very personal decision that only you can do.

To avoid this problem in the future, make sure you words are spelled.

    Good luck

  • Top of page logo design image

I have problems with my sensitive design: high logo image does not follow the different widths. Fex. the width of the mobile view or display the width. I tried to fix this by adding a srcset with image sizes different tree but that does ' t work either. The fluid grid model is DW:s own, is the latest version of DW creative cloud.

    These are my two attempts:

  • Logo Design Suggestions

I'm a freshness in the graphics. One of my friends asked me to design a logo for its "Magento Geek" site. I came up with an idea and tried to look geek logo. So I thought to add glasses, that will give a Geek Look. I came up with a design below. Is it necessary that the text should be easily understandable. I tried to use the right glasses 'G '. Please give advice and suggestions if it can be better. Please let me know in what places, I need to work more and improve if this logo justifies the name of logo?

    magento.jpg

The fundamental problem with the work, it is not told us you already that the name of the web site was that Magento Geek, it would be very difficult to get this message by looking at your logo, even for a number of minutes.  I throw the attempt and start over.  Another big problem is that the glasses, but the way in which they are created, are used to end a Word and begin a Word.  The glasses would be more effective in a word like 'WOOD' where they are limited to a single word.  I would be the name of arc on an icon or a picture of head of geek stylized with oversized round glasses and wavy hair.  Keep it simple and easy to read and identify.  Work up to something original that has not been done before.  Good luck and we keep up-to-date on your developments.

  • A simple logo design on the AI.

    Hi all

I am fairly new to design. I have a school project for which I would make this simple logo in Adobe Illustrator. Could someone provide me please with instructions on how to do it?

It should look like a 10 in Roman numerals. What I have in mind is:

2 forms of small trapeze with the small side directed inward and 2 forms of parallelogram sloping with a passing by another.

    It should look like this.

    Untitled.png

I know there are various tutorials on how to get started on using Illustrator, but now, I have urgent need of it, so there is not a lot of time.

    Help, please.

    Thank you very much.

    CasualGuy

    CasualGuy,

You can create the cross of a vertical rectangle that turns (object > transform > rotation by the degree desired, let's say 30) and then reflect it (object > transform > Reflect).

You can then create a horizontal rectangle with a height that is the right amount greater than the frame bar (1 divided by the cosine of the angle, with 30 it will be 1,1547 times higher).

Then you can center align the horizontal rectangle with the cross (ShiftClick the horizontal rectangle and other parts of the cross, then click on the latter once more and align > Horizontal Center alignment + alignment Vertical to the Center).

Then you can make the end on the horizontal rectangle angles (with the Selection tool direct all deselect, then click on the object and the leftmost segment > transform > pivoter rotate 30 degrees, then repeat the procedure for the segment of the right end, only with the-30 degrees), it will be in the top bar.

You can then create the bottom bar (select the top bar and the object > transform > reflect horizontally).

Then, you can move the bar up/down up/down by the same amount, so that they cover the ends of the pieces of the Crusaders, and everything is very nice.

    All very carelessly.

  • Can I export my logo for a logo designer symbols without giving him the entire .fla file?

Hi, I'm working on a Flash model, which is a large file, .fla that contains all of the site.  I have a friend who wants to customize the logo for me (adds a little animation, etc.).  The problem is, I don't want to give it my all .fla file.  Is there a way I can just send him the symbols that match my logo and it works on these alone?  There is no need to start from scratch, because the text is already there - he just needs to add things, like a background and an animation or two.

So is it possible to export my logo symbols to him that he can change and then come back to me?  I really want to give him (or someone) the entire .fla file...

Simply copy the symbols in the library of another empty file and send that to your designer.

  • Adobe Stock photos for use in a Logo design?

Can I use Adobe stock photos for a logo? Do I have full copyright / redemption option forever?

    Hello

It is covered in the FAQ - frequently asked Questions, Adobe Stock

Can I use an image Adobe Stock in my company or brand logo?

N ° you must have complete ownership of the image that you use for your company logo, because logos are meant to be saved and protected to prevent other companies or organizations to use the same image. Because Adobe Stock only grants a right to use the images and does not transfer the property, these images cannot be used in or as a logo.

  • Logo design - some unknown step

Hi, I'm new on Illustrator. I created the following image and apply a few steps more.

I want to do the following:

    • Batch process segments rounding their corners evenly
    • Create a gradient that brings color creaping in round of the edges (the standard radial gradient, I've tried seems to not take into account the shape/size of each segment and therefore does not create the desired effect)
    • Be able to change the color of each segment, while keeping the current gradient adjustment
    • Create a coloring pencil effect in each individual segment

Can anyone offer advice on how I could perform these steps?

Thank you very much in advance for your answers,

    Josh

    Picture 63.png

I don't see where the Edit option is to change the gradient of shades of gray. Can you point me in the right direction?

I want just the segment to change color but its gradient - I if I was just able to file another color on her!

You don't know if it's the best way to select your objects but in the EDIT MENU, choose EDIT COLORS/CONVERT to grayscale.

That way you keep just the luminance of your gradients.

Then one at a time, select an object and give it a new Live fill. Use the appearance for this Panel. There is a button add fill down.

Illustrator will add a new ontop filling of the gradient fill so that you can see the new filling.

Choose a fill color, and then, in the Panel new click the arrow down on the new layer of fill, and then click the opacity to reveal a list drop-down of blending modes. Choose the color.

Now your new fill color in color gradient in gray below. (The gradient must be black and white because using the Mode of mixing colors would produce, new colors if you mix a color on a color.

Now you can change just the fillings of different colors and your gradients will remain on-site.

Scott way would work very well too, but the dialogue change the colors can be quite confusing. I use to HAVE for 4 years now and even I avoid it. It would be good to learn it well.

  • Beginner? : printing process and web designed logo

I could benefit from some wisdom on the workflow to use for intended for display and print output, specifically a logo.  I have CS2 and Macromedia Studio 8.

The logo that I built (for a local group) was made in FW and then saved as a gif for use in DW for our site.  Recently, I started to learn IT and ID and would like to learn a 'happy' path with these applications 'available' to redo the logo.  This time the planned output is display and printing and at several levels.

If my path would be even easier and better, I'd be ready to add Acrobat to the list of applications.  So far, I only used Acrobat to convert to simple document.

Logo graphics are almost completely vector with some small silhouettes as gifs.  Gifs are on the net, so I guess that their ppi for the screen.  (Specfically, they are all black silhouettes a salmon and a horse).  The logo image is attached.

From there, I guess that the path will be all things vector at Illinois.  Previous support of the Forum, I learned to build the vector closer the final scale as possible and/or favor downward revision during the scaling upward.

The silhouettes appear to be another matter.  I see that I can integrate vector and rastor to Illinois, but what is it you do for scale to print or display output?  Since I guess rastor isn't as vector, it seems that the path is limited by the 'density' of the image (?) original.

    Thank you

    Tom

on the workflow to use for production intended both display and print, more specifically a logo

    General rules:

Design for the first impression, then reuse it to the web, not the other way around. Print is also much more demanding and more varied. You can 'things excessively' for the web at any time. But trying to work in the other direction leads invariably to rework useless.

Do not do the work to design a logo in Fireworks. Use a vector drawing program designed to be printed (using FreeHand or Illustrator, since you have those.) Fireworks is RGB. To do this, CMYK or spot color. Yes, you can copy traces of fireworks and paste them into FreeHand or Illustrator, but why the hit on the thorns? Simply create the work in an appropriate first program.

Never use items have "caught on the web. First, there are the problems of ownership, others have already alerted you. In addition, however, a good logo is supposed to be unique(among others). Unless the image captured on the web belongs to you or your client, it is not yours to use in anything, especially something that you want to call a "logo". Even if it is your client, it probably isn't unique. Commercial clipart is also (by definition) not unique.

Define the contractual terms. Understanding which will provide you the customer, what will charge it and what his rights are. Load correctly for the chart of one's own identity. Considerations of costs should include:

    • Quality of the design itself (e.g.: your own level of creative talent and technical skill)
    • The invloved to work in the production of the foregoing
    • Time spent in research and reflection
    • The time spent in meetings
    • The number of rounds of preliminary sketches related reach a final decision of the customer
    • The scope of the project (i.e.; A mark of identity for a multinational company has more inherent value than a local mom & pop store.)
    • The scope of the rights (e.g..;) Marks of identity should be fully owned by the customer. The client must be frank and clear of any legal obligation make you when / if it needs changes, or get/challenge of usage rights. Charge accordingly for all jobs for which won't let you any property - which you should assume to be the case in the real work of logo design.)

Not taking into account the foregoing, the General procedure for your specific example:

1 redraw traces raster images. Make all your paths as simple and clean as possible. Do not include special effects dependent on the application-specific features. If possible, (as in your example) avoid any treatment that requires a pixelation and weight direct hit. Don't include all of the unnecessary elements. (Ex: practice totally amateur drawing of white objects to 'hide' the parts of other objects.)

    2. you use five colors, so your direct is impossible for the color version. Use CMYK colors. Set overprint black items so it does not build with other tiers of record.

3 convert text to paths. Evaluate the results and clean if necessary. (Ex: the Union text glyphs which overlap.) Beware especially of the results at the level of the plan of TrueType fonts - especially cheap ones. TrueType uses quadratic Bezier curves that should be converted to cubic curves so that they appear the same in most drawing programs. Many TrueType fonts at low prices were initially drawn as Béziers cubes and then "automatically converts" line quadratic, imposing corruptions of form to which the producer is completely unconscious. When you use drawing software again "automatically convert" paths, you can also unintentionally made mistakes. (This is one of the reasons why I would never knowingly contract with option - and then the discovery immediately would "fire" - one of the many too many publishing houses which the self-proclaimed 'pre-press experts' make a routine practice willy-nilly to convert all the text on a page to the railways - practice hideously lazy lover - man often praised in this forum as the "expert" advice.)

    4. a package of good logo must include at least one version for the single color impression. The owner must send the files suitalble for advertising in yearbooks, newspapers, football programs, etc. etc. Then when you are finished, make a copy of the work and convert all colors in grayscale. Not just use automatic conversion to grayscale; your sleep to select appropriate and advantageous contrasts. Use 100% black for text, so that the name seems low compared to the graph.

    5. a good logo package must include at least a version for printing than the line drawings. The owner must send files for printing or engraving on pens, neckties or shirts embroidery, screen printing on T-shirts, embossing or stamping foil on other promotional items, vinyl-cutting or engraving glass to build signs, etc. etc. Leaving the necessary value judgements to the seller of the product individual is madness; It will quickly lead to corruption and the lack of consistency in the treatment of identity - which is antithetical to the objective to have a logo. So when you are finished, make a copy of the work and wisely to create a version that contains only black. Test this version for the readability of very small size.

    6. According to the features of the program you use, make a copy of the work of color as another page or a separate file. Convert the colors to RGB. Once again, simply based on the conversion automatic is often not recommended. Intelligently Choose RGB values to use for each color. (Another widespread amateur; automated simple calibration and color intent are two totally different things.)

7 export files available. Use the files CMYK, spot color, levels of grayscale and line drawing to export PDF and/or EPSs files suitable for import to current programs of large printed graphics. The RGB file to export any raster images for use on the web and in Office applications.

    8. If is not a good Style Guide of construction for the customer, all least prepare a plain text ReadMe file that lists all the files that you provide and an explanation brief and clearly understand the purpose of each. Include a list specifying the color of all the values used, including at least CMYK, RGB and spot colors. If you know other specific uses, including specifications of color for those as well (ex: sign vinyl and/or embroidery thread colors and/or printing ink).

need help on how to design a logo

    Welcome to the forum!

A logo design is a big topic. Can you tell us more?

In the meantime, I highly recommend the video 'create your Logo' on Adobe TV: http://tv.adobe.com/watch/adobe-and-your-voice/creating-your-logo/. It uses Illustrator, not Photoshop, vector exit Illustrator is a better choice for the creation of a logo, you might want to size up and down for different uses.

  • Not satisfied with the quality of a vector drawing?

I downloaded a vector file to use some basic elements for a logo design to try to save time because I am providing drafts for the customer; However at the opening of the actual .ai file that I found it was built very awkwardly and is basically impossible to use except exactly as it was designed. There are several odd spaces and pieces 'patched up' so when I try to change the color or scale, I find myself with parts or gaps in the design that overlap. The download is useless for me now and I have I lost a credit on it! Is it possible to Exchange my download for those who did, I can use?

  • Problems with the scale / resize the Logo with a 3D effect on Illustrator?

    To anyone who can help:

I designed a logo for the work, which has a 3D effect. I made sure that the strikes of the scaling and effects has been used before turning the small size of the images. This is the size of the original logo as its meant to look like:

    CHWC 1.PNG

When the logo is reduced, however, its quality is lost and the logo moves shaped. The the black part of the logo Gets the pieces randomly oranges on this and the logo loses quality shrunk in a smaller size. Here what the logo looks like when done resized more small.

    CHWC2.PNG

How could I solve this problem? Is it because that the logo itself or a setting on Illustrator CC? Any help is appreciated thank you!

    Perhaps another way...

You can always make a copy of the original (so if you need to change at any time) and then object > Expand...

Then try it down/up to scale?
