Losing Dreamweaver site configurations

A few months after a Dreamweaver update lost all my site configurations. I've saved them all and saved in the STE files. Now, I have to open Dreamweaver, any sites listed in the Site Manager, and import the site on which I intend to work. The next time I open DW configuration of the site disappeared. I was not able to find all the information related to the problem via Google or Adobe.

Before continuing, please visit this link on the latest version of ACPE update: the 2014 release of the Dreamweaver CC is now Live!

See Dreamweaver do not exit properly? Site preferences can be lost since DW crashes on quit, and therefore they are not getting saved.

Can you try to change default preferences settings and leave DW to see that if it be remembered the next time you launch the product?

You can launch the preferences dialog box by using the shortcut Ctrl + U key.

  • Password is revealed to the Dreamweaver site?

    Hi, I need to import a .site of GoLive CS2 to Dreamweaver CS3 CS4 CS5 and hand it to someone to manage.

    I have will have the configuration of the password and can be seen as ' * ' (chips) so that they can edit-add-publish new pages.

    My question is, will they be able to extract the real password from the Dreamweaver site (or is it only available as bullets)?

    Dreamweaver uses FTP to transfer files. Create a new FTP account for these users. It will be different from the account used to access the host control panel. That's all.

  • Site configuration: multiple users

    We have an intranet site with 20,000 files and Dreamweaver authors of 20 +. With a site of this size it is impracticle to us to copy and keep a local copy and keep synchronized with the remote site, which is a staging server. I want to know if someone has defined the Local site for the staging server, renouncing the recommended Dreamweaver site drive C and the problems with this configuration. I can't perhaps the only person in the community of users with this issue.

  • When I click on bookmark it says no site configured at this address, but I know that the address is operational on the internet explore

    My Bookmark allows you to work for www.kitco.com now I juct get a white screen that says no site configured at this address. When I go on internet explore and click on Favorites, it is still there. What gives with firefox?

    Have you tried to type the address in the address bar instead of using a bookmark?

    Reload Web pages and ignore the cache to refresh potentially stale or corrupt.

    • Hold SHIFT and click reload.
    • Press 'Ctrl + F5' or 'Ctrl + Shift + R' (Windows, Linux)
    • Press 'Command + shift + R' (MAC)

    You can delete all data stored in Firefox with a specific area through "Forget this Site" from the context menu of the history entry (see the history or the history sidebar) or via the subject: permissions page.

    Using "Forget this Site" will delete all data stored in Firefox in this area as bookmarks, cookies, words of past, cache, history, and exceptions, so be careful and if you have a password or other data from this area you don't want to lose so take note of these passwords and bookmarks.

    You can't recover from which "forget" unless you have a backup of the affected files.

    It has no lasting effect, so if come back you on such a 'forgotten' site, then the data of this Web site will be saved once more.

  • Force a pdf on my dreamweaver site form

    Hello. Is there to force a pdf on my dreamweaver site form to be opened in Adobe Reader?

    I hope someone can help. Thank you. Maggie

    Hello

    Not really. All modern browsers will be open a pdf in a browser window, the only way to replace it is for the user to select the software Adobe Acrobat reader as the default application for viewing pdf files.

    You can force a browser to download the form by setting the attribute in the link download-

    pdf link

    But this means that the user will then go and 'open' the manually downloaded pdf file.

  • How to move the outside host Dreamweaver site to Business Catalyst

    Hello

    I have my Dreamweaver site hosted with Hurricane Electric now and you want to move to Business Catalyst.  I tried to do it by opening my site in Dreamweaver and clicking on the choice of the Site/New Business catalyst Site menu but the dialog box only appears for a second and then disappears.  So next time, I tried going to my catalyst for business portal and the creation of a new site by importing my site existing since its URL, bitsong.com.  This imported most of the site but did not import the SWF files and the Unity3d player does not work.

    My question is, how do I get connected to this temporary site Dreamweaver: http://bitsong.businesscatalyst.com/ and get the rest of my downloaded files and work on this temporary site?  I can do this with FTP or I have to use a new Protocol, SFTP.  Thank you.

    Barbara

    P.S. I know that to push the live site, I have to change the server names of Hurricane Electric to Business Catalyst, but I would prefer not to push the live site until I have everything working on the temporary site.

    Thanks, I managed to get my site downloaded from Dreamweaver using the Site/New Business Catalyst Site menu in Dreamweaver CM³.  Then, once the site has been created, I deleted everything that was already there and downloaded from my own site.  It worked.  I had to download Dreamweaver CC for this.  For some reason, the menu new Business Catalyst has not worked in CS6.

  • First dreamweaver site - why the gap at the top?

    A fact my first dreamweaver site:

    < withdrawn at the request of the original poster >

    Why is the gap at the top? I don't see this in dreamweaver?

    -Mark

    You did not give your page a name. Sometimes that without title.

    It would be a title, not a name.

    The gap at the top is probably due to the upper margin of 1em by default on your p tag in the header.  -Change

  • Link a button in flash for a dreamweaver site

    I am having trouble linking a button in my flash of a separate dreamweaver site animation. The flash animation will be placed in

    the homepage of a website and I want to be able to click on a button to go to a separate page. try the code I have is:

    RF1.addEventListener(MouseEvent.CLICK,clickHandler);
    function clickHandler(event:MouseEvent):void{
    navigateToURL(new URLRequest("http://Bleachers_Top.html"));
    }

    where RF1 is my button and my is "Bleachers_Top.html of page target"

    I'm sure that the last part is not true, but I can't seem to find any help on how to do it.

    I get this error when I try, does it mean that it is an error of installation of flash player in this case - that someone knows another way to do this because I don't want to have to change their Flash security options when they see it.

  • Dreamweaver site

    Someone put up a site using files created in Microsoft Word, and then I set up as a Dreamweaver site and downloaded the files on my computer in the process (but did not download all files). This process somehow modifies the files on the remote server so that the person who uploaded them first place cannot work with them in the form of Word files?
    Of course, I'd appreciate any thoughts on this.

    > One of the things I'm worried about the fact that by putting up the site in Dreamweaver, I maybe changed files of > Word to Dreamweaver, it's that when I look at the remote site in Dreamweaver, html files have the "d" for Dreamweaver > icon.

    DW has not changed anything. Those are html files and this icon indicates just that DW is the application that will be used to edit these files.

  • White square for file .swf in dreamweaver site

    Hello

    My apologies if this is a very basic question.

    I built a dreamweaver site and built a .swf (a slideshow of pictures created in flash) file into the page.

    When I view the page online, the .swf file takes a few seconds to load, and even if it is loading I get a white box where the slide show should be (the dreamweaver and flash documents have a black background).

    Question - how do either
    (a) get the white square to be black
    (b) obtain a loading bar to show that flash video is loading

    Thank you very much

  • Files\Adobe\Adobe Dreamweaver CS6\Configuration\Commands\Date_beforeSave.htm throws a weird when error Save-As'ing in a folder that is not in my site?

    I have a card to the address C:\Users\Me\Documents\Dreamweaver\mysite called index.php.

    This page contains pictures and videos I captured, but have not yet gotten a parole form to (I form and the customer said they will sign, I've not only bypassed to send again). Therefore, I want to save a copy of index.php in C:\Users\Me\Documents\Dreamweaver\mysite_media_removed, remove the pictures and videos, I have a release for and download this version. This way I can maintain a version with images, just download and overwrite when I'll have the sent form.

    The problem? When I save in a folder that is outside of my site (any folder, I tested with multiple pages and sites), I see the following error message:

    dreamweaver_error.png

    This * only * happens when I save in a folder outside my site. If I register, say, C:\Users\Me\Documents\Dreamweaver\mysite\media_removed, there is no error. The strange thing is, this error seems to have no impact on what it is. All my pages are fine, including the saved in the other file copy, the copy does not throw this error when I save it and the program continues to operate. In fact, the only point negative impact is the annoying error message. But I still want to know how to fix it.

    I suggest you save into your folder of local site with a different file name - media_removed.html.  Or put it in a subfolder in the folder of your local site.
